🏈 NFL - Game On

I was basically checked out and apathetic to the whole season this year so go figure the Super Bowl is a rematch of Chiefs (again) and the Eagles.

Who's your team, Driz?

Last thing on Buffalo: If there's a single thing the summarizes these two teams, it's the stupid tush push they kept trying to run. Just the same thing over and over, but never working. Was the only one they picked up that dumbass leap over the pile?

Quite frankly they got lucky that moron didn't lose the ball on that one. His fumbling issue came up again big time this game. Didn't lose any, but he tried.
He even did fumble. Just got it back. Did he have 3 fumbles today?

I'm still pissed the Ravens beat themselves last week. That is the game I wanted, and wouldn't of cared who won.

Yup, and all of them were reckless. Quite frankly, he should've had three picks. He was throwing them right at guys.

You're a normal human being, SF. I'm on BlueSky right now as people act a fool. :funny:

I love Mahomes. I've waited for a player like him for a long, long time. Still, I get not liking him, but what bothers me about it with some people (not you) is they treat a guy like Josh Allen like he's different. When the dude flops all over the place and begs for calls. I find those people unbearable.
I do hate the flopping players do. So much more present in the modern game. I wish they'd start flagging anyone doing it for unsportsmanlike penalties, and yeah that would end up being a judgment call. But at least it would be a deterrent. The whining for calls is why in general WRs are usually my least favorite players. No one whines more than WRs. Every play, they throw their hands up like "Where is the PI ref!!!" Hate it lol

Josh Allen ain't even close to my favorite player either, I would agree. I was sort of pulling for Jaden cause he is fun to watch, but I had a feeling the Eagles were gonna win big

As much as I hate the Ravens by virtue of being a Browns fan....I have to admit Lamar is fun to watch. It pains me to say this

It must be so vexing seeing Baker be a perfectly good starting QB in Tampa after who they decided to replace him with.

The league really needs to make some rule adjustments and flagging QBs to stop the flopping. Mahomes and Allen are both awful about it, which is only exemplified because they're always on national television for everyone to see. Need to start treating it like taunting call. 15yds and a major fine post game. I'm so sick of watching every player make the throwing flag motion every other second.

See, I don't think that Baker plays in Cleveland. He seemed to mature after he left. No doubt he would have been better than the monster, that's just obvious. But i do think we still would be having this conversation about how we surpass Lamar and Burrow. On top of the AFC gauntlet elsewhere. So I aint mad they moved on. But I wish we had gone the draft route. I aint big on the QB class, so I sort of hope the Browns draft Carter and pair him with Myles. Make a scary defensive front and then maybe we put in the chips for a rookie in a better class.

I am expecting our starter to be probably Kirk Cousins next year.

How you keep your sunny disposition, I will never know. But I'm grateful.
I learned a long time ago to not stress about sports and have a more zen-like attitude (for the most part). Besides, I'm pretty satisfied. I saw them win twice. Wasn't born yet in '87 and was too young in '91 but those two Super Bowls against the Pats were fun as hell to watch.

Yeah.....I'm totally with you. I'm like any other fan and root for the teams I like, but I have more important things to do than to spend my time being depressed because some team lost a game....plus I don't gamble so that helps. :funny:

I didn't want to see another KC/Philly SB, but, hey, whatever. I've had more pressing matters on my mind Like I just spent the last week sleeping on a mattress on the floor with my dogs because they got neutered and weren't supposed to jump. Now I get to sleep in my bed again...so I'm good. LOL

God, it's hilarious that after spending 20 years being absolutely dominated by the greatest of all time, the literal second he leaves the division kick starts them being absolutely dominated by the guy who has a really good chance to surpass him.

Like seriously. Brady leaves the Pats in 2020. That same season Allen finally becomes good. They finally return to the AFC championship game and this mfer is waiting there like Lebron wanting Toronto. Divine punishment :funny:

Bills are an unlucky franchise lol. 4 trips to the Super Bowl in the 90s and lost to 3 all time great 90s teams and a Giants team that played out of their minds, then Brady happens, and now Mahomes. Bills are a bridesmaids franchise

Friendly reminder that Manning was 3-2 against Brady, oh which those 3 were all consecutive.

He's a very young "old". :funny:

If the Raiders can really do something about their front office, we'll be set.....
This should go in the Do You Want to Feel Old thread, because I distinctly remember reading an SI article about Pete Carroll being the one of the new breed of young “cool guy” coaches when he was coach of the Patriots.

The four Buffalo Super Bowls almost perfectly coincided with my high school years. So it was very formative for me. I respected them tremendously even if I didn’t root for them. But now, I really want to see them get one in Jim Kelly’s lifetime. I kind of feel that it would mean a lot to that guy.

As for the Chiefs, I love Mahommes. And I love the Taylor Swift stuff just because it is fun to see everyone get bent out of shape because they show her for a total of maybe 4 minutes out of a 3 hour game. But outside of maybe JuJu, the rest of the team just isn’t very likable in my opinion.

One last thought on last night: even though Kelsey didn’t have a monster game, I still think that a great tight end is worth his weight in gold. You can trace Brady’s success almost step by step with Gronk’s great years as Brady got older. And Mahommes, as great as he is, probably does not have a single ring without Kelsey. But Dalton Kincaid letting that ball slip through his arms is maybe the best picture of the value of a great TE. Kincaid is a good, but not great TE, which is one of the reasons why the Bills won’t be in Nola in two weeks.

Yep, there's plenty of stuff for me to stress about besides football, especially in this day and age.

I will admit that the football gets to me more than it should. I aint like that with the Guardians or Cavs. But I think it stems from the fact that in my lifetime, the Browns have been like... the worst franchise in the league and I feel like I have waited a long time for it to turn around and the fact that they haven't had a true great run in the nearly 4 decades I have been watching annoys me. But yeah, it's a 1st world problem

I work in sports, which you'd think would mean I'd be more zen about it, but it just turns me into Carmy from the season 2 finale of The Bear.
