🏈 NFL - Game On

Man, if Herbert can play like that consistently, the Chargers are gonna be trouble. I was listening to the announcers going on about Mahomes and thinking that he was being totally outplayed by Herbert. In their defense, they also later praised Herbert quite a bit.

That dude throws as nice and accurate a ball as anyone in the NFL. I can only think of one throw he missed when he had a chance to set himself and that was about a 40 yarder he missed by about a step. That's as confident a QB I think I've ever seen. He makes throws that few would even try.

13 points at home is inexplicably pathetic. The continued woes and being hot garbage at home is tiresome.

Some really good games in the opening 1am window. Jets/Steelers was a great one to have on.

I have been saying for a couple of years now that I think Herbert throws the prettiest ball in the league. He throws a missile.

On the other hand.......the Raiders are certainly improved from last year and got the win, but they are a flawed team. That O line needs work and they don't seem to have fallen off a bit WRT getting pressure on pass plays. Maye looks like the real deal to me, but needs a LOT of help.

The game of the day was clearly Bucs v Falcons......I might've been wrong about Penix. He looked really, really good. Rams v Texans was really entertaining also. The Texans looked much better than I thought they would. They have a terrific D. The Pack looks to be back and they are (unsurprisingly) gonna cause problems.

It was maybe last year or the year before, but he threw a ball running to his right. He threw it from the right sideline right down the line. That throw would have sailed on any other QB in the league, but he threw it on a line and hit his receiver just before he went out of bounds. I couldn't freaking believe it. IIRC, that first down won them the game.

That dude makes throws that just leave you shaking your head.

My team sucks, but still a great weekend of football.

Ravens choking that game away is next level embarrassing. All you needed was one first down.

Ravens/Bills was still a great game.
Yeah....the problem is that the main feature was watching the Ravens lose a game that they basically had in the bag. They had to do "everything" wrong at the end of the game and managed to pull it off. LOL. Don't get me wrong, there was some good football played, but some very BAD football by the Ravens late in the game when it counted.

For my money, the Bucs v Falcons was a good one. There wasn't all the scoring, but it was still an exciting game. Ditto for the Rams v Texans. All in all, it was a really good weekend with a lot of close games that weren't decided until the end.

I think Green Bay is going to kill teams this year......

Man, that throw Williams made about halfway through the 1st qtr running to the right sideline to Odunze reminded me of the throw I was talking about Herbert making. Getting the torque and velocity on that throw downfield when you're running at the sideline makes for a wow play.

Justin's throw was about 20 yards longer, but still........

I still don't believe in Williams, but be looks very comfortable right now. Johnson seems to be doing his job. Who knows if it'll workout in the long run. Could easily be Tua and McDaniels, but good start.

McCarthy looks completely out of his depth. Kid isn't ready to start just yet. The speed of the game looks completely overwhelming. I'm a little shocked by how unready he looks considering the coach and what he's done so far with that program.

I dunno.....I'm seeing something different from a guy who's making his first start in the NFL. Yeah, he threw the horrible int, but I think the Vikes have their guy.

Williams looks great and the NFC North is gonna be BRUTAL.......

Ben Johnson is a MAJOR upgrade from Matt Eberflus.....there's just no question about that.

Good on the kid for hanging in there, and not totally crumbling to the moment. Good on KOC for getting him more comfortable and in a rhythm.

Brian Flores should be a head coach again already. Kind of embarrassing for some of these teams that he's not. Best DC in the game and just that dude. Pretty much the only reason the Vikings were able to stay in the game at all. Well, that and you can't un-Bear the Bears in one game.

Totally agree about Flores.....unBear the Bears....LOL. Last year when the Bears lost to the Commanders???, before the last play of the game when they gave up the game winning TD on a Hail Mary, my son called it. He said "The Bears are gonna Bear". Ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner.

Can't wait until next year when the Clippers are gonna clip.

I think the Bears are on the upswing, but, man, are they in a tough division or what?

NFC North is the clear cut best division in the NFL right now.

Even if the Lions take a little dip, I don't expect them to fully implode to give the Bears any kinda runway to making a push to not still come in last. Which has to suck :funny:

Why do I read this and immediately think of Denny Green’s “The Bears are who we thought they were” meltdown?

I freaking loved Green. He'd tell you exactly what he thought and wasn't real big on sugarcoating anything. If you didn't like what he had to say, he was open for business. :funny:

He wasn't really a loudmouth type of guy though, but he was very direct if he had something to say.
