Film 📽️ THE CINEMA LOUNGE

Over the last 3 days, I saw my 7th (and probably last) theatrical viewing of The Batman, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and The Northman.

The best week of moviegoing I've had in ages.

I only got to see The Batman once in theaters. Watched it several times on HBO Mac though. Theater trips come in shorter supply when you need to arrange baby sitters, lol. Doctor Strange 2 this week is gonna be my first movie since Morbius of all things in the theater, and I prob won't see anything until Thor comes out. By July the wife should be healed enough from her pending surgery to go see it.

DS2 will be the first movie in theaters for me since The Batman. I do want to see Top Gun Maverick and Jurassic World 3 and then Thor 4. That will probably be it for the summer for me.

If I had the option, I would have elected to see Top Gun Maverick and Jurassic World Dominion in the theater, but wife will be recovering from a c section, so those will be ones I look for on streaming or blu ray. I care less about those than Thor anyway, so I will live lol

Yeah I would also pick Thor 4 over the other two if I had to choose

I'll always go to a theater and watch stuff every week (thanks to A-list). Last week they didn't have anything... so it was probably the first time in months that I didn't go watch something new in the theater.

A-List is a great deal if you can watch more than two movies in a month. I find it hard to do that and justify the cost. I would definitely get it though if they made it so you can purchase multiple tickets for the same movie at the same time (but it probably wouldn’t be cost effective for the theater).

If it was 100% up to me, I would as well. I gave up that freedom though.

With more things coming out this year, I decided I'm going to go to the theater every Tuesday to take advantage of the discount and knock a lot of things off my list, or at the very least pick a random movie just to support the theater really.

Was doing this for a while - That's how I knocked out all of last year's BP nominees before the Oscars for the first time. Been too busy the last month or so prepping for grad school but hoping to get back to it again. $7 a ticket is definitely manageable, and I've learned to enjoy going by myself if all my friends are busy.

Yeah, I've been going alone for the most part. It's been nice because I can do it earlier in the day, so there's significantly less people/empty theaters, which has been preferable.

Have any of y'all seen The Night House? Buddy and I watched it tonight. Not totally sure how I feel about it, got a lot of mixed thoughts. Need some opinions on the last 10 minutes or so of the movie.

Honestly can't say I was prepared for the suicide note to be a Dad joke :funny:

I really dug it, it's really a movie about dealing with guilt and grief and that's what that last part was about. David Bruckner is one of my favorite horror directors and I thought The Ritual was even better.

Yeah, I definitely got that whole thing, I guess I was just expecting a completely different execution based on the idea and a lot of the early set ups. I'll definitely have to check out The Ritual then because I did enjoy this for the most part.

I just saw The Night House on Sunday. Kind of felt mixed about it. It was kind of slow throughout but the last half hour ramps up. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.
