It definitely feels like this was a direct response to the people who rightfully called out this moment when certain folks were hyperventilating and calling the Smith/Rock Slap the "Academy's Lowest Moment."What was the rush?
I think this will generate some discussion...

Her table scene with Gershon is up there with the Pacino/Deniro Heat diner scene. What a time capsule! All natural. Swing low, sweet chariots. Verhoeven is one of the great auteurs of perv high cinema. A hell of a line to walk, but the man dances. The first Amityville Horror film. I was 11 when it came out and it was my first rated R movie. I had to keep a light on at night for weeks.I think this will generate some discussion...

It's another one of my favorites. The Fly (1986) - Watching the slow transformation of Goldblum turn into a human sized fly scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it. It took me a while to watch it a second time and a third time and I’ve probably seen it 100 times by now and I absolutely love that movie
Goldblum makes any film great.Who knew Anthony Hopkins could be so deliciously creepy?Silence of the Lambs for me. I was 12 or 13 but it was the first film that I was thinking about scary thoughts outside of the time of watching the film.

I do find that when I catch it as I'm sifting through channels, I stop and watch it. It really is great storytelling.I rewatched the original "Planet of The Apes''.
There is still something odd and weirdly beautiful about it. A certain charm which none of the Matt Reeves flicks have. That isn't a slight at Reeves, but haven't rewatched any of his Apes flicks, but the original will now be a yearly revisit for me.
