13 Shows We Want New Versions Of

I wouldn't mind a reboot of that tv show Profit. Seems like an interesting idea and would fit perfectly with today's recession. And yes, get Adrian Pasdar once Heroes finally gets cancelled.

Here is a crazy idea. How about people come up with new ideas! I know right! Crazy!:wow:

There are a couple older really charming shows that I would love to see if they could work in a modern setting. Bewitched and I Dream Of Genie come to mind.

Dark Angel was a laughable attempt at being a hip/edgy Buffy wannabe

Why does everything have to be dark and gritty now-a-days? Would Buck Rogers really be Buck Rogers if he were "dark and gritty?"

Yeah, I think people need to stop using "dark and gritty" and perhaps substitute it with "maturity". Not everything needs to, or even can, be dark and gritty, but I think just about every old property can use a bit of maturity.

I blame The Dark Knight for "dark and gritty"...also people's stupidity.

Why must everyone drag TDK down? :csad:

It's definitely the second reason.

well...TDK did play a part in it IMO. Nothing against the quality of the film. I loved it.

The pretender does not need a new version. It needs to be finished. Pretty much every show on that list needs to be finished.

Actually it is the TDK reason. Dont forget that after TDK's opening weekend WB announced the next Superman and other DC propertys would be done "dark and gritty".

Heya,

Hahaha. Airwolf. Yes! Corny, but fun as could be, IMO! Hehehe. Yes, they are right. The 4th season really, really sucked hard.

The Dark Knight helped bring more people to say dark and gritty but it didn't start it. Remember BSG and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtiles we're on years before TDK and we're on during that Tv must be dark and gritty period.

They better not remake Quantum Leap, cause that would be crappy!

I wouldn't mind seeing remake of quatam leap. i heard they were going to do a moive about his daguther leaping in time trying to find sam. I hope they use the same people.

Lost in Space!

summer glau as the dark angel?hmmm why not?

the article forgot one part of why the second season failed.
like most adventure shows of the time the storylines [the part about the us becoming effectiely a 3rd world countery following an EMP attack]were toned down followig the 9/11 tragedy as people wanted what came to be called comfort shows

I wouldn't mind seeing Mr Steed and Ms Peel return in a remake of "The Avengers"

Lost in Space!

That totally computes!

Also, I'd really like to see Clone High come back. Possibly as a live action version. Hilarious, great concept...it's only problem was that it was an animated series on MTV and was thus fated to be replaced by some bullcrap reality garbage. Also, it's portrayal of Gandhi's teenaged clone as a horny party animal apparently pissed off alot of Hindus.

Quantum Leap
This time-traveling tear-jerker starred Scott Bakula as Sam Beckett, a scientist lost in time, bouncing through the ages righting the wrongs he encounters and making the past a better place as he goes along. He had a hologram named Al for a best friend, who womanized, smoked like a chimney and frequently gave him advice and a selectively visible (usually only Sam could see him) hologram shoulder to lean on. A straight remake could get pretty sappy in the wrong hands, and besides, aren't we too cynical for that these days anyway? The remake should be a genre satire that lovingly mocks the television and culture of whatever time Sam and Al (recast as Steve Coogan and Ray Wise here, respectively) travel to, and they should fail a lot more often. After all, Lost has taught us a lot about the universe course-correcting since the original show went off the air.

Wouldn't he be stuck there then ?
