20 Films "on the docket" for Phase 4. What are they?

I'd be interested in seeing some golden age Marvel and I'm probably in the minority but even some Western stuff like Two Gun Kid and Rawhide Kid. Throw in Ka-Zar and the Savage Land and you could have some very different material for audiences.

It'd be interesting to see those westerns with some form of crossover with the old school Ghost Rider/Phantom Rider

 That would be such a cool slate. . . and Hulk in several of those.:woot:
A Fantastic Four film franchise by Marvel Studios would simply rule the box office.

Hulk vs. Thing.... Oh my lord that would be something to see on the big screen. :hmr:

Oh and a Silver Surfer movie. Loooooong overdue.
You know, when I've pictured this kind of film in my head, it always comes down to a 1980's presentation of his back story w/ a soundtrack similar to Blade Runner. Don't know why but that has always come to mind.

Presentation wise, something like Kung Fury (not necessarily in the humor vein).

I wonder I'm the first to bring Miss Marvel in this thread?

I was on the understanding Feige had said a lot of the 20 won't be sequels to existing films and many then, by default, will be new character films, can anyone confirm this is true ? as that's a lot of non-sequel characters and eventually surely the well will be empty of water, as such.

So ignoring the 13 films that are more or less guaranteed to happen barring some unforeseen event:

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 & 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Dr. Strange 2 & 3
Black Panther 2 & 3
Ant-Man 3
Captain Marvel 2 & 3
Avengers 5, 6, & 7

The remaining seven could really be anything. I agree that Nova seems like a good bet given some of Gunn's comments. I think Thunderbolts has a good chance at happening. I could see Namor as well if the legal issues with him are straighten out. X-Men and Fantastic Four will both inevitably get a spot if Disney buys Fox.

Its not quite Golden Age, but I maintain that an Agents of Atlas movie could be a lot of fun. Jimmy Woo is even being introduced in Ant-Man and The Wasp next year obviously.

Waititi and Hemsworth have both indicated they are game for another Thor film and the franchise has clearly been reinvigorated. If Thor and the Asgardians manage to survive Infinity War, I'd like to see Taika take another crack at it and finally introduce Beta Ray Bill. There is still unfinished business there.

Probably will never happen but I sure would like to finally see the "real" Mandarin in an Iron Man 4 along with Fin Fang Foom.

We need MODOK!

If the Fox deal goes down though - you know Marvel would have to shake up this plan. Reboot FF ASAP - bring in Doom, Kang, Galactus, and Annihilus baby! Alternate timelines and realities, the Negative Zone, the Microverse, Latveria, Subterranea. Have Jonathan Hickman write it up. So much potential there for some seriously awesome stuff post Infinity War.

I hope we can get a Black Widow film.
I hope we can get a Spider-Woman film.

I'll be very surprised if a Richard Rider movie is not among those 20 films. It'll be probably deal with the aftermath of... whatever Thanos will do to the poor Nova Corps in IW.

Yeah, I better not have to wait until Phase 5 to see her. :argh:

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Doctor Strange 2 (prob 3)
Black Panther 2 (prob 3)
Captain Marvel 2 (prob 3)
Ant-Man 3

These are sequels/threequels that would finish off their trilogies. Marvel seems to favor trilogies, so I think they stick to that. This would be between 6-9 films right there. Now we get into who gets a new solo. Well, I think these are some candidates:

Nova
Namor
Black Widow
Thunderbolts
Sentry
Adam Warlock (possibly as Infinity Watch)

Should Disney acquire FOX, we can almost be certain that these happen:

Fantastic Four 1-3
Silver Surfer 1-3
X-Men (not sure they would see this as just a trilogy)
Wolverine

Outside chance as it might be, there is always hope for a Incredible Hulk 2.

These are just some that are coming to me as possible.

In the actual Ms. Marvel Run is a nice arc with her and Miles (so MCU-Peter). A crossover would be extremly nice.

And by the way it underlines diversity etc.

What makes you think they won't do Sam Alexander? Sam Alexander is still the current Nova, and he's been the one used in most forms of Marvel media outside of MvC Infinite.

Because it's my completely baseless theory that MCU Nova would basically be a mix of the two characters, and since Richard Rider is a much catchier sounding name, that's the one I think they'd use.

Yeah but there's also the issue of Richard Rider being another white male hero and diversity issues. So that's why you would arguably lean to Sam Alexander instead as well.

Keep in mind, people complained when an Asian actor wasn't cast in the Danny Rand role for Iron Fist.

James Gunn

The director was asked by a fan if Marvel Studios had plans in store for the character of Nova, and Gunn said Marvel Studios is considering introducing the “real” Nova to the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon

That's not really confirmation it will be Richard Rider instead of Sam Alexander.

Dick Rider is not really the greatest name ever. :o
I would prefer the OG Nova but one must admit that his name is cringey.

I said this also somethread else: Marvel Studios could expand out of the MCU.
2099, Crossgen, as others said, westerns...
