I guess the bandwagon is going to fill up now and will be stronger than before next year.

Like I said, I felt and a lot of others feel this series was rigged for Miami to win it.

This is a good read and it basically sums up my feelings right now.

I'm not going to cuss or call anyone names, I just want Miami fans to know that this 2006 trophy has a asterisk. Beat the Mavs when the refs aren't on your side and aren't treating Wade as a god like superstar.

Dallas will be there next year.

Oh yes, Dallas will be back.. but one thing we really need is a solid center.

I say Ben Wallace and it's been rumored that Kevin Garnett is interested in coming to Dallas.

Don't know if the Garnett rumors are true; however, if they are, then I'd say bring him in and have him be in formation with Dampier and Diop.

A solid center/power forward is very ideal. But what would help is a defensive minded/offensive minded point guard. I'd say if we had Garnett in the line-up; then Jason Kidd with Terry coming off the bench, the Mavs would be outright unstoppable in my opinion.

Either way I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed at how Miami won and how horrible the series was handled.

Yeah I read that Bill Simmons column he always writes good articles. He didnt say the finals were rigged though.

He didn't outright say it, but it implied it though. I agree with him and the notes his readers posted as well.

Damn, I forgot what I was going to type. :down

Now I remember. This series was fixed for Shaq so they can put his name up there with Jabbar, Russell, and Chamberlain. He said he wouldn't be happy unless he won 4 or 5 rings; so I think this basically shows that the league wants him up there.

And I knew, I knew the Mavs were in trouble when Cuban stared down $tern and was yelling at the officials.

I'd hate to be around Dirk in the locker room right now.

I read Simmons' article earlier today and this is a direct quote from it:

Bill Simmons said:
The NBA doesn't fix games. That's impossible. And stupid. It could never happen.

He pointed the finger at bad officiating.

As a matter of fact, here's what Cuban wrote in his blog today:

Mark Cuban said:
The games are not rigged. That's a complete insult to the players on the court and the incredible amount of effort they put into preparing for and playing the games. All 82 regular-season and postseason games.

The NBA couldn't rig the games if it wanted to. And it doesn't want to. It's that simple.

This conspriracy stuff is nonsense.
Asterisk?

That would be amazing:up:

And it's about as likely as there being a Game 7 in the 2006 NBA Finals.

McHale and Garnett have both said "no trade" as recently as late April. Kidd's not a free agent and signed a big contract a couple of years ago. I don't see him going anywhere. Wallace is up for grabs, so who knows. Dallas needs to be concerned with keeping Jason Terry, who is a free agent and did nothing but bump up his asking price this offseason with his performance in the playoffs.

I don't think sending Garnett to Dallas is a good idea, surprisingly. he's shown some selfish signs. plus, Dallas stays good when they ship out playre BEFORE their prime is over. They don't need Garnett slowing down the offense

You know before this series started I really had no preference on who won. I am a bulls fan+Shaq fan, so I was leaning a little toward Miami. I also thought that it would be cool if Dallas won.

Then you came along. Now from this day on I will have nothing but hatred for the Mavs, I hope you, , Mark Cuban, & the rest of the whiny a** mav fans. end up like the red sox, & don't see another championship until 2086. Then maybe you all will appreciate it!

The Miami Heat are full of guys that have worked there whole F***ing careers trying to get a ring, & just because you a-holes get the most wins you think that David Stern should just hand you the f***ing trophy! F*** that! That s*** is earned not handed out!

So again F*** you. F*** the mavs, & F*** Mark Cuban!

Let's not have another profanity-filled flame war. I know this thread will be dead soon, but come on, it's over. Disagree all you want, but we can be civil about this.

It's true, the Yankees didn't act like Mark Cuban when they finally lost to the Sox a couple of years ago...and, the Red Sox weren't errogant with it either, so let's just enjoy the moment, and quickly look toward the NFL season!!

Simply amazing. Not going to repeat what everyone said already. I'm glad that all the questionable moves, and coaching changes have been justifed. It's going to fun at the parade. Good series. Great play. God I love this game. Later guys, it's been fun on this thread, see you in the offseason.

Now did I start insulting you first? The fact that you're acting this way proves you're not a class act. I didn't start any profanity, name calling, or snap at all, I simply congratulated the Heat and their fans while sticking with my opinion that this series was rigged.

Both teams worked hard to get to where they were, it's just the league and the officials helped the team with the two most popular stars. It's my belief and I'm sticking to it, nowhere am I calling you names or being immature.

The fact that you're acting like this gives Mister J, Go Web Go, Cmill, and Samurai Black a real bad name. They're class acts and not going on about hating the Mavs.

I suggest you do the same.

I remembered what I was going to type initially.

At least the suffering is over, at least the season is over, and we can move on without being in suspense as to who will win Game 6 or 7. I'm happy that it's just ended and the off-season can begin.

I'm also happy that Dallas silenced critics and won the West. Personally I think Finals jitters and inexperience is what doomed us, also combined with the fact that $tern helped Miami and I don't care what Cuban says, he knows it was fixed and just won't outright say it.

I now believe it's only a matter of time before Dallas finally wins the big one. Now Zo can retire, Payton can finally leave, but you know what? I wonder if Malone is pissed that he retired now?

Sunrise, you won't move an inch off this conspiracy thing and even though I don't agree remotely, I like somebody who sticks to their guns.

This should be an interesting off-season. You guys NEED to resign Terry. Dallas made big strides this year that I didn't think they were capable of. They need to keep it going and capitalize quickly, because it doesn't seem likely that they can keep that roster fully intact for too long; there are too many good players.

I think Zo and GP are done too. I wouldn't blame either. Miami needs to resign Posey and look for another potential scorer on the perimeter or a decent post guy.

I wonder if that will prompt Malone and Miller to come out of retirement and join the Miami Heat? :o

As far as Dallas is concerned, they need a solid center and a solid defensive minded/offensive minded guard. Jason Kidd is ideal, Troy Hudson is ideal, and who is another great point guard? Kidd and Hudson have always been my favorites, so it'd be nice if one of them came to the Mavs.

But seriously, I'm done with the NBA. I've had it with the hype, the commercialism, $tern, and the fact that it's no longer about competition anymore. It's about money and it's about popularity.

I'll gladly come to the thead and discuss basketball, but as far as the NBA is concerned, they won't be getting anymore ratings from me. I'm through with them.

To be honest Mister J. I won't back off from the conspiracy until something changes in the league. I think the league needs to let the players play, I think all teams should get a fair shake, and I feel that right now it's too watered down and it's too commercialized.

When West, Pistol Pete, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Rick Barry, Jordan, and Russell played, it was all about the competition and all about proving who is the very best. I don't see that in this league anymore. I see popularity contests and superstar calls, and that's not how its supposed to be.

I'm just not talking about this finals, I'm talking about the regular season and the future. This league needs to be exposed as a farce and needs a rebirth as being the great league it once was.

Dan Patrick predicted on a local radio show that the Heat weren't going to win another game after game 3. Choke on that one, Danny boy.

Damn, this feels good. Being a Miami native, I remember when the Heatians first started with guys like Rory Sparrow, Grant Long and Rony Seikaly and losing their first 17 games. That was a long time ago and I'm happy as hell.

I feel good for 'Zo, GP and Pat Riley. I'm glad Shaq has another ring and I may build a shrine to Dwyane Wade. :D Big effort all around from the boys tonight.

Gotta love it, man. I just came back from doing a bit of celebrating out in the streets. Unfortunately, it's Tuesday and I have to get up in a few hours but it's all worth it. You better believe that I'm going to be at that parade Friday.

It wouldn't surprise me if both retired. Zo still has it. I'd love to see him back with the Heat next year, but I would understand why he would want to retire. GP said that he'll be back next year if the Heat want him back.

Good season for the Mavs, they kicked mucho ass. Best in the west and they knocked off those sack of crap Spurs. Congrats to the Heat for the win.

As always, Go Mavs!! :D

How are they going to pull of that trade? Unless they give up Nowitki, which they wont? And re-signing Terry is not a sure thing, because u know he's going to ask alot more money know that we all know he can play in the playoffs. And another factor that Deven Harris is ready to start. I wouldnt be surprised if the Clippers signed Jason Terry if they dont re-sign Cassel and It would be the Clippers in the finals instead of the Mavs:D

someone pleasee help me!!!

what is that song they played right before they go to commercials and when they show during the highlights

its like some 80's rock song, seems like a famous song too i just dont know whos it from and whats it called

went something like "all or nothing ...." at the end of it

The problem with your theory is that it's not a sure thing. Do we resign Terry? Who knows. They've resigned players who had good regular season performances or great playoff performances, then stink up the joint next season.

So again, what does a person do in this situation? Good thing I'm not an owner or a coach.

Terry going to the Clippers? That means you'll lose Cassell. No way Cassell is going to come off the bench and he'll tell them that.

And Devin Harris nowhere near ready to start. He needs more experience and needs to control himself in crunch time situations.

I guess I'd resign Terry; however, there'd also be solid center signed and possibly solid defensive/offensive minded guard added to the mix too. I don't care what happens as long as they don't get Sprewell or Iverson.

And oh yeah, Dampier, Howard, Diop, and Daniels will be working on their free throws during the summer too.

Even though I think this series was rigged, free throws was horrible and those were costly as well. I am happy though. I am happy that Dallas made it to the finals, I am happy Dallas won the west, and proved the critics and the basketball legends wrong.

So even though as Dallas fans we're empty handed to an extent, I feel it's important we remember their accomplishments. Of course, I'd be lying to you if I said we didn't want a championship.

I think the thing that hurts the most, is that the teams play 82 games and in the end only one can be champion. 82 games is a lot of games and I think it's a let down for anyone who doesn't win a championship. On one hand you're happy that its over, on the other hand one has to dread that it's another 82 game season.

In the end, all teams start out 0-0, and while I am still disappointed, I'm very proud of Dallas and their accomplishments. I don't respect the Miami Heat and I never will. But I know they'll enjoy their moment in the sun, just remember it won't be easy next year, as the Pistons will be looking to possibly dethrone them and maybe return to the finals as well.

It's been fun. But I will no longer watch the NBA until changes are made in the league offices and officials in general.

I am officially on suicide watch right now. : ( It's gonna take me a while to get over this one. Simply put, the Mavs choked away a championship and at the end of the day, they have no one else to blame but themselves. I am absolutely sick to my stomach right now! Have to give credit where it's due though, Miami took advantage of all the Mavs mistakes and they are a deserving champion. Congratulations Miami Heat: 2005-2006 NBA Champions!
