How are they going to pull of that trade? Unless they give up Nowitki, which they wont? And re-signing Terry is not a sure thing, because u know he's going to ask alot more money know that we all know he can play in the playoffs. And another factor that Deven Harris is ready to start. I wouldnt be surprised if the Clippers signed Jason Terry if they dont re-sign Cassel and It would be the Clippers in the finals instead of the Mavs
The problem with your theory is that it's not a sure thing. Do we resign Terry? Who knows. They've resigned players who had good regular season performances or great playoff performances, then stink up the joint next season.
So again, what does a person do in this situation? Good thing I'm not an owner or a coach.
Terry going to the Clippers? That means you'll lose Cassell. No way Cassell is going to come off the bench and he'll tell them that.
And Devin Harris nowhere near ready to start. He needs more experience and needs to control himself in crunch time situations.
I guess I'd resign Terry; however, there'd also be solid center signed and possibly solid defensive/offensive minded guard added to the mix too. I don't care what happens as long as they don't get Sprewell or Iverson.
And oh yeah, Dampier, Howard, Diop, and Daniels will be working on their free throws during the summer too.
Even though I think this series was rigged, free throws was horrible and those were costly as well. I am happy though. I am happy that Dallas made it to the finals, I am happy Dallas won the west, and proved the critics and the basketball legends wrong.
So even though as Dallas fans we're empty handed to an extent, I feel it's important we remember their accomplishments. Of course, I'd be lying to you if I said we didn't want a championship.
I think the thing that hurts the most, is that the teams play 82 games and in the end only one can be champion. 82 games is a lot of games and I think it's a let down for anyone who doesn't win a championship. On one hand you're happy that its over, on the other hand one has to dread that it's another 82 game season.
In the end, all teams start out 0-0, and while I am still disappointed, I'm very proud of Dallas and their accomplishments. I don't respect the Miami Heat and I never will. But I know they'll enjoy their moment in the sun, just remember it won't be easy next year, as the Pistons will be looking to possibly dethrone them and maybe return to the finals as well.
It's been fun. But I will no longer watch the NBA until changes are made in the league offices and officials in general.
