2007 MLS Thread

Well Week 4 of the MLS season kicked off last night with Kansas City hosting Toronto FC in the Wizards home opener. The Wiz managed to come away with a 3-0 win. KC advances to 2-1-0 while Toronto falls to 0-3-0.
Tonight the action continues with Red Bull New York visiting FC Dallas tonight at 8 ET on ESPN2.

Big win last night for Red Bull New York. They went into Pizza Hut Park and shut out FC Dallas 1-0. With the win the Red Bulls now have a record of 3-0-1. The Hoops fell to 2-2-1. I have to say that the Red Bulls are playing some really great defense early on this year. NY has yet to give up a goal in their first four games with is the longest such streak to start a season in MLS history.

The action continues this weekend with a full slate of games. On Saturday afternoon the Kansas City Wizards (2-1-0) will head north of the border to play Toronto FC (0-3-0) in their home opener. On Saturday night the DC United (0-2-0) will try to pick up their first win of the season by visiting the Columbus Crew (0-0-3). The Super Classico heats up on Saturday night as Chivas USA (2-1-0) takes on the LA Galaxy (0-1-1). On Sunday, the New England Revolution (1-1-1) will visit FC Dallas (2-2-1) while the Chicago Fire (2-0-1) try to continue their hot start against the Houston Dynamo (1-1-1).

The Colorado Rapids have the weekend off.

Another weekend of MLS action has come and gone. Here is the wrap up on this weekend's games. On Saturday, Toronto FC hosted the Kansas City Wizards in the teams first home game. A sell out crowd saw Toronto fall to 0-4-0 on the year, losing to KC 1-0. The win improved the Wizards' record to 3-1-0. The DC United lost another heartbreaker to the Columbus Crew. The loss drops the United to 0-3-0 on the year. The win lifts the Crew to a record of 1-0-3. On Saturday night in the Home Depot Center the LA Galaxy held off Chivas USA 3-1. The win brings the Galaxy to 1-1-1 and the loss drops Chivas to 2-2-0. On Sunday, the Chicago Fire defeated the Houston Dynamo 1-0. The Fire move to 3-0-1 on the year while the Dynamo drop to 1-2-1. The New England Revolution handed FC Dallas their second 1-0 loss in four days on Sunday. The win improves the Revs to 2-1-1 on the year while droping the Hoops to 2-3-1.

This is so weird, I'm not getting the games on ESPN2

I got the L.A./Dallas game a few weeks ago but I haven't gotten one since. Really wishing I had Fox Soccer Channel. :(

That sucks. I would go nuts. The United and the Revs play this Thursday on ESPN2. I am really looking forward to that one. Going to be a tough one though. The United really need to get a win, but the Revs are playing pretty good so far this year.

Monday night the Colorado Rapids visited Real Salt Lake. The Rapids came away with an impressive 2-0 win. Colorado improved to 2-1-1 on the season and RSL fell to 0-2-2.

The United and the Revs face off on Thursday.

MLS returns to ESPN2 tonight as the DC United will host the New England Revolution. The United come into the game at 0-3-0 looking for their first points of the year. The Revs come in at 2-2-1 have notched 7 points in the standing already. Hopefully DC can get back on track tonight.

KC Wizards 3-1, Johnson 3 goals and 2 assists so far.

We play Columbus this Saturday at Home, should be 4-1 come Sunday. :cmad:

Another weekend of MLS action is upon us. Last night the DC United ended a three game losing streak to tie the New England Revolution 1-1. Not the best played game in the world for DC, but they did pick up their first point of the year and hopefully that will get them going.
On Saturday, the Columbus Crew (1-0-3) will visit the Kansas City Wizards (3-1-0). Red Bull New York (3-0-1) will visit Real Salt Lake (0-2-2). Fox Soccer Channel's Saturday night game will feature the Houston Dynamo (1-2-1) paying a visit to the Colorado Rapids (2-1-1). On Sunday, Chivas USA (2-2-0) will visit the DC United (0-3-1), while the Chicago Fire (3-0-1) will visit the New England Revolution (2-1-2).
It is another big weekend of MLS action. Can't wait to see what happens.

Another great week of MLS action has come to a close. With the loss by Chicago, KC is all alone with the best record in the league. The action will continue this Thursday night with Real Salt Lake visiting Colorado.

KC is off to a great start, and their 'D' has been tight w/ a 0.60 goal against average so far.

This week's game against FC Dallas will be a special game, with it paying tribute to Lamar Hunt. Who not only did a lot for the NFL, but was also very important to the MLS. The Hunt Family at one time owned Kansas City, Dallas, and Columbus. They sold KC this year, but the family still maintains Dallas and Columbus. It should be a very good game, hope so because I'll be there.

Jimmy Conrad fractured his jaw :(. I think he only plans on being out a game or two, but still, I hope this doesn't hurt KC's win streak.

Yeah that might hurt. I still think that KC should be able to take Dallas at home though.

i heard the red bull gave up such a huge lead to real salt lake .. giving up 2 goals in stoppage time.. ughh
