2007 MLS Thread

I finally watched one MLS game which I found to be very entertaining. It was the game between Chicago and Toronto @ Toronto. What an amazing crowd!! Why can't all MLS game crowds be like that? :csad: The commentator said that DC United home games are like that too so I am hoping to catch one of their home games.

Anyway, it wasn't just the atmosphere that was electrifying, the level of performance by the two team was quite impressive too. MLS has definitely made quite an improvement.

MLS returns to action tonight on ESPN2. The Chicago Fire (3-3-1) will visit Red Bull New York (4-1-2) at 7 PM in the Meadowlands.

I didn't get home to watch the NY-Chicago game until after it had already started. I turned it on in the 12th minute and it was already 2-0. New York held on for a 3-0 victory. The win brings NY to 5-1-2 (17 pts) and drops Chicago to 3-4-1 (10 pts) on the year.
As for this weekend's action we have a full slate. On Saturday, Kansas City visits New England, Toronto visits Columbus, Houston visits the DC United, Los Angeles visits Colorado, and FC Dallas visits Chivas USA. On Sunday, Real Salt Lake visits Chicago.
I hope that everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Have a great weekend and watch a game if you have a chance.

I am having trouble understanding how one of the KC teams is actually playing up to its potential. If only the Royals and Chiefs would do that :(.

Actually two: Wizards and Brigade.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if the Royals and Chiefs were both great at the same time. That's what I'd imagine Heaven to be like.

I imagine we'd need a whole busload of clones of Joakim Soria, John Buck, Tony Gonzalez, and Jared Allen.

Here is the weekend wrap up of MLS action. On Saturday, FC Dallas defeated the LA Galaxy 3-1. Chivas USA defeated Chicago 1-0. On Sunday, the DC United extended their unbeaten streak to 6 games with a 4-2 victory over Redbull NY. The Houston Dynamo defeated Columbus Crew 2-1.

Word.

Also liked to mention Eddie Johnson's back-to-back 'Hat Tricks'. Great way to go out before going to the national team for the next month. The rest of team is going to need to step up to keep this great start going.

Pretty lousy reffing in the Salt Lake/Dallas game tonight, 1-0 Dallas wins.

Okay, so I am falling down on the job. Lots of MLS action this weekend. On Saturday the Columbus Crew (1-4-5, 8 pts) vists the New England Revolution (5-2-3, 18 pts). The Colorado Rapids (4-4-3, 15 pts) will face Chivas USA (4-3-2, 14 pts).
On Sunday, FC Dallas (7-5-1, 22 pts) will head into Canada to take on Toronto FC (3-6-1, 10 pts). Last but certainly not least, Real Salt Lake (0-4-6, 6 pts) will try to get their first win when they visit the LA Galaxy (1-4-3, 4 pts).
