we are going to see a lot more Destruction games, with a lot of physics.

[Devil May Cry]

I say GTA will be game of the year, although I'm hoping maybe a LBP can do it. It would be too early to announce MGS4 for 360 IMO. MGS4 might drop in June. Maybe an announcement late this year if at all? By the end of the year, Wii should meet demand. As far as the other two, I have no idea.

GTA migt, I'm not sure though, there are a lot of good games coming.

GTA has always been a safe choice for me. It appeals to everyone and so much time has been put into it. Plus, the fate of a company rests on its success. I also think Killzone will get pushed back to make room for Resistance, which...IMHO...I think will be a blockbuster AT LEAST critically. Insomniac is super talented. Ninja Gaiden II will get 9.5s and such and be as awesome as the first. DMC4 will get high 8s as the 3rd one did but it will sell quite a bit (prolly more on PS3 b/c that's where the fanbase is). I hope Gears can come out December but that's wishful thinking.

Edit: Oh yeah, there will be a beta for Home. It will suck most likely. But it will get better and better as more people learn to use it etc.

By what...two reviewers? Remember Lair also got 8s and 9s for the first few reviews. Gamespot, IGN, GameInformer are the ones I look at the most. As much as I like DMC, Ninja Gaiden might be a bit better. I just...well...can't tell the difference between it and Sigma. They look the exact same to me.

Lair got 9's??? That game was pretty damn bad. I dont think any reviews were above an 8....

LOL I meant 8s and 7s. That was a stretch. I could have sworn there was a 9. At the time, I didn't know who Play magazine and such were. I rmr gave it something pretty high and some other magazine did until that EGM massacre.

Edit: Maybe it was GameInformer? They gave it like what...a 7? It didn't deserve that. Play gave it a 9 though and that was one of the first reviews out rmr? Come to know...Play likes everything. That game sucked. I don't even want to talk about it.

Ninja Gaiden 2 will be better than any DMC game. Just like Ninja Gaiden 1 is.

- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots WILL NOT be announced for the Xbox 360 in 2008. If an Xbox 360 version does come to be, it'll be announced with the Integral/Substance/Subsistence version in 2009. Rumors of an Xbox 360 version will continue relentlessly.

- Capcom will go remake crazy with the Resident Evil series on the Wii due to the success of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Chances of Resident Evil 5 will increase, but an announcement for a Wii version will probably come next year after the game is released.

- The Playstation 3 will outsell the Xbox 360. This will be because of blu-ray's victory over HD DVD, lower prices, and the fact that the Playstation 3 is finally getting some games onboard such as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Tekken 6, Grand Theft Auto IV, Devil May Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet, Singstar, Gran Turismo 5, and Sony's ambitious Home project. However, the Xbox 360 will still have more overall units sold due to the Xbox 360's year headstart and the Playstation 3's craptacular first nine months.

- The Wii will finally catch up to demand. The Wii will also have three big hits: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Wii Fit. Everything else will either sell decent (No More Heroes, Okami) or horrible (Madden 2009, movie tie-ins). This will cause Western third party developers to question their support for the Wii because nobody wants to buy their s**tty ass games.

- Nintendo announces new games in their Legend of Zelda and Star Fox franchises.

- Banjo-Kazooie 3 will underperform, just like most of Rare's recent work has done. Microsoft tightens their control over Rare to ensure that their investment was worth it.

- Wanting more quality developers like Bioware, Pandemic Studios, DICE, Criterion, and Maxis, Electronic Arts will acquire Valve. Like their more recent acquisitions, EA won't force them to change their name to EA whatever.

- 2008 and 2009 will be the years of consolidation within the video game industry. Major media conglomerates will also want in on a piece of the action. Time Warner's Warner Bros. division acquires SCi/Eidos due falling profits. UbiSoft acquires Infogrames/Atari. The Walt Disney Co. acquires THQ. Viacom acquires Midway. Codemasters will probably go out of business like Acclaim. Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, Sony Computer Entertainment, and Microsoft Game Studios will buy more smaller developers.

(Rare's games have gotten progressively better since the buy-out. Or do you not pay attention anymore?)

I predict that the X360 will see another price drop, and as such, keep the PS3 in dead last for at least another year, probably two.

DMC: I really don't think GTA will get game of the year. Its graphics look slightly above mediocre at best, embarrassing (for such a hyped title, at least) at worst... storytelling will remain horrid, etc. Personally, the GTA series is grossly overrated.
