2009-2010 NCAA Basketball Thread - March Madness is on!

Next week the Bulldogs begin a new era with Mark Fox in charge.

Syracuse started things off with a great loss to LeMoyne College....you lose to a school in your own backyard

Hoping UNC follows up their Championship year with another strong performance

UConn should be ok....the women will probably dominate again

I dont really watch womans basketball..............not sexist or anything, just not into it lol

its kinda what Uconn has become known for...anyway, I could see NC being a top team again...the ACC is always a powerhouse

Yea the ACC is consistently good every year. UNC's success depends on how much Ed Davis and Larry Drew improve. Also Henson and the Wear twins. Im expecting Thompson to be solid as usuall

Just back from the Kentuckys game.... they scored 117 points!! :wow:

Just got back from seeing my Jayhawks win their 40th straight win at the Phog, putting up 101 points over Hofstra. Xavier Henry was worth the hype. Seriously, I never thought I'd be so excited over a guy who we all know doesn't want to be around longer than a year. But what a year that's gonna be.

Well, seeing as i'm currently into Basketball again, why the f**k should I care about NCAA B ball, and who should I be watching?

that does kinda suck when a player makes it supremely clear that college is merely a rest stop on the way to the NBA

See, this is my last year of undergrad at KU, so it's like, I won't see X as a Jayhawk next year when I'm watching on tv from wherever I'm living, but my last year actually going to all the games at Allen Fieldhouse I get to see him be amazing.

Then again, everyone thought the same thing four years ago about Brandon Rush.

Harrison Barnes commits to UNC

Nothing to do with this year, but carolina sure is looking promising for years to come

I can't believe I'm saying this, but as a Michigan fan:

Thank Zod it's finally basketball season! Go Blue!!!

Caught that IU game last night. Garbage.

This is the one time of the year where people in Memphis can actually get together peacefully and support the same thing (if only for 40 minutes).

I'm not expecting the world and everything with Pastner in his first year as head coach, but I do see good things along the way.

Memphis....

See y'all in St. Louis tonight ;).

TULSA, Okla. -- Three games into his college coaching career, Isiah Thomas was already asking for mercy.

Midway through the second half of Florida International's 81-49 loss at Tulsa on Sunday, Thomas motioned toward his counterpart as if to ask when he'd take his starters out.

A few minutes later, he got vocal with his request, shouting a few words in the direction of Golden Hurricane coach Doug Wojcik.

At that point, FIU (0-3) was down 63-25 with 8:59 to play after being outscored 27-5 to start the second half.

"It's a 40-minute game. If you want the truth of it, go back to the (North) Carolina game Monday night, when Carolina was pressing them with 3 minutes left," Wojcik said, referring to FIU's 88-72 loss at North Carolina. "I don't press, and I don't embarrass anybody. But it's a 40-minute game, and I'm in this game to get better.

"I've never seen anything like that. It was very bizarre."

Wojcik, who was putting leading scorer Ben Uzoh back into the game, looked back at Thomas and shrugged his shoulders. He pulled 7-footer Jerome Jordan shortly thereafter and Uzoh with more than 5 minutes remaining. He had emptied his entire bench with 3 minutes left.

Wojcik explained that he had only eight scholarship players available, with Glenn Andrews out with a knee injury and Bishop Wheatley serving a four-game suspension. Two other players are sitting out under NCAA transfer rules, and Wojcik is redshirting another.

"There's 10 minutes left in the game and, to be honest with you, I only have so many guys," Wojcik said.

Thomas, saying his team had a flight to catch, took only three questions in his postgame news conference -- and he dodged the one asking about his interaction with Wojcik.

"I just thought that, again, this is a very good basketball team. We weren't as good as we would have liked to have been, and they were really good," Thomas said before heading toward the door.

On his way out, he added: "By the way, I'd like to invite them back to play us next year. I hope he accepts. Good luck."
Always fun with Isiah. :funny:

Absolutely. Bullock and Marshall are studs too.

Ol' Roy is doing his thing on the recruiting trail, as usual.
