Wow. I only got five picks right. There's no WAY I could have predicted what's happened in this draft thus far. The Colts are going back to feeding Manning more weapons while their defense continues to suffer and the Lions STILL do not have an OT. I'll post full thoughts on the first round later but.....Wow.

Laurinaitis to Rams......he won't be going into the family business anytime soon.

I know Pettigrew is a great player, but they needed an OT and some defense. Should have taken Oher.

Oher is red-flagged all over the place due to his learning disability and plays the same side as Gosder Cherilus. I'd rather have Britton or Beatty ahead of him.

And now they just took Delmas when they could have had Malauga or Larunitis or Eben Britton/William Beatty.

I like Delmas and think the Bob Sanders comparisons are apt, but I thought we could get him at the top of 3.

I know Mauluaga and Laurinitis are "big names" but there's a reason these guys are falling. They are media darlings who the press has tried to make out to be Polamalu and Chris Spielman.

The fact that the Patriots who have a HUGE need at LB just passed on them as well should tell you something.

DRAFT RECAP:

1. Detroit Lions - Matt Stafford QB
2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith OT
3. Kansas City Chiefs - Tyson Jackson DE
4. Seattle Seahawks - Aaron Curry LB
5. New York Jets (F/Cle) - Mark Sanchez QB
6. Cincinnati Bengals – Andre Smith OT
7. Oakland Raiders – Darrius Heyward-Bey WR
8. Jacksonville Jaguars – Eugene Monroe OT
9. Green Bay Packers – BJ Raji DT
10. San Francisco 49ers – Michael Crabtree WR
11. Buffalo Bills – Aaron Maybin DE
12. Denver Broncos – Knowshon Moreno RB
13. Washington Redskins – Brian Orakpo DE
14. New Orleans Saints – Malcolm Jenkins – DB
15. Houston Texans – Brian Cushing LB
16. San Diego Chargers – Larry English LB
17. Tampa Bay (F/Cle) – Josh Freeman QB
18. Denver Broncos – Robert Ayers DE/LB
19. Philadelphia Eagles (F/Cle) – Jeremy Maclin WR
20. Detroit Lions – Brandon Pettigrew TE
21. Cleveland Browns – Alex Mack C
22. Minnesota Vikings – Percy Harvin WR
23. Baltimore Ravens (F/NE) – Michael Oher OT
24. Atlanta Falcons – Peria Jerry DT
25. Miami Dolphins – Vontae Davis CB
26. Green Bay Packers (F/NE) – Clay Matthews LB
27. Indianapolis Colts – Donald Brown RB
28. Buffalo Bills – Eric Wood C
29. New York Giants – Hakeem Nicks WR
30. Tennessee Titans – Kenny Britt WR
31. Arizona Cardinals – Chris Wells RB
32. Pittsburgh Steelers – Evander Hood DT

Players in bold are my correct picks. I have Robert Ayers in Italic. I picked him to go to Denver, just not at 18.

Denver trades up to get younger at CB with Alphonso Smith. Not a bad pick.

Given how early their main guys Jackson and Raji went, theyve had an oustanding draft so far. Moreno, Ayers, and Smith are all instant impact starters.

Finally. Wow, Cincy now has Keith Rivers AND MauaLUGA (I kept pronouncing it as GULA for some reason). Seattle and Cincy have some potentially scary LB corps.

New England gets Ron Brace and Darius Butler. This defense is going to be frightening next year.

Boneheaded move by Oakland, they needed Brace.

Again, I like Brown as a player, but the Panthers just got ripped off. They couldn't just keep this the 59th pick in exchange for that 1st next year?

Or we couldn't give up the 59th and our third? Wow, Furney! Wow.

Maybe the Steelers FO should be taking some lessons from the Jags FO.

Eh, I don't mind their pick given that they do this kind of thing every year, and they always manage to make up for it. Think about it, with this O-Line, we STILL made it to a sixth Super Bowl victory. They always take draftees based more on character and sheer skill compared to the other available players, rather than a need basis.

It's worked so far, I've got faith that it'll work this time too.

The fact that the Lions passed on Oher for a TE speaks volumes.

The Vikings (my Vikings) took a huge chance on Harvin considering his recent performance. Randy Moss was a problem child as well, though.

Al Davis does it again taking a 7th round pick in the 2nd....I feel sorry for Raider fans.

We won another SB in spite of the O-Line, Ben can't take the type of hits he has been taking for very much longer. IMO they should have taken Britton with the 1st pick and they could have taken Roy Miller with the 2nd.

Very true post. The Steelers already face the Ravens twice a year, and quietly, the Bengals are building a good young defense, and it just got some attitude with Rey Maulaluga. It's more workman like than the Ravens and the Steelers with there blitz happy schemes, but still.

I completely agree that they should have taken an O-Lineman. My jaw literally dropped when they didn't. That said, Ben is the toughest QB in the league, and the Steelers have that uncanny knack of getting the best results in the worst situations.

I'm hoping they pick up Max Unger, still. I also wish they took an O-Lineman first so they could have addressed their Cornerback needs.
