Not so fast; theres film on youtube of that "Michael Mitchell" or whatever his name is safety Oakland took in round 2, and the guy is a ****ing wrecking machine; jesus christ does he hit. DHB is an obv reach but this guy looked real legit.

WAY TO GO JERRY... a whopping ZERO players so far... he tries to get so cute on draft day it's making me vomitt... wtf is he going to do with 12 picks tomorrow??? He needs guys that can compete for starting jobs not backups... I don't know what he's thinking trading that pick when Moore (S) and Beatty (OT) were still up there. Giants actually filled their needs with good value picks... as did the Skins and Trashgles... and Jerry does nothing. Gauranteed half those picks tomorrow are backups at best that will be released after 3-4 years.

Tom Brady anyone? James Harrison anyone? Darren Sharper and Antonio Gates anyone? Dallas' moves are better than Oakland's so far. I found the mid to late second round to be a bit lacking in talent depth, so Big D could benefit from trading back and seeing who they can scoop up on day two. Half of these picks from day one will be out of the NFL or backups as well, there's just a greater chance for them becoming Super Bowl MVP's.

Is Mike Leach still pretending to be a pirate?
...maybe that's why no one asked him.

LOL, yes he is as a matter of fact. But he's also a pretty strict coach with the players. He doesn't let them talk to the media and he makes them work their arses off. One guy recently got in trouble for skipping study hall and Leach made him sit on the 50 yard line doing his school work while the rest of the team practiced. He said he would make him do that for a while and if the kid starts understanding the concept of "student athlete," he'll let him move back into a building to work on his school work, and if he continues improving his work ethic in that department, Leach will then let him begin practicing football again with the team.

The fact that their day is even in the same sentence as Oakland's says it all... Jerry hasn't hit on any of these mid round guys since Parcells left... the fact that reports have it that Jerry was looking at just WR and safety means he isn't sticking to his board. They should have been rebuilding that O-line. Jerry just doesn't value these O-line prospects in this draft and seems content with sticking with what he has... can't wait for Flozell and Co. to get butt raped by those beast pass rushers in the division... sad sad day in Cowboy land.

Granted, Jerry needs to focus on the O-Line for this draft and develop that power running game that's ready in waiting, but that doesn't mean they can't find plenty of talent in the later rounds. More picks, more to choose from, more talent to evaluate after the draft and see who stays and who goes. The only reason I mentioned Oakland was because I think they had one of the worst drafts so far in my opinion, thus I was comparing Dallas' moves in the draft to, in my opinion, the worst.

Dallas has a ways to go because teams like New England managed to get multiple second round picks early on where most of the talent was. Dallas's draft is still up in the air and could hit home runs in the later rounds, but I do agree that Jerry needs to learn how to stockpile second and third round picks and not fifth and sixth.

Roy Williams was your acquisition from this draft, and its looking even more prudent now with T.O. gone.

As for the rest of the draft, most 3rd and 4th rounders should either start or see significant enough playing time. If those guys are at best back-ups, then either your team is stacked or you've drafted really poorly.

Although I do agree with your point that Jerry should have less input on the football decisions then he does. Him and Snyder are their own worst enemies, and ironcially theyre the two richest owners in the league.

Eagles have had the best draft thus far IMO.....to get Maclin and Mccoy. Wow.

ESPN guys are talking about of their ass again...big surprise. Apparently Sanchez can go to the Jets and play right away, but Stafford will have to sit on the bench in Detroit. :whatever:
They say Sanchez is proven in a NFL-ish offense, yet Stafford apparently isn't. Despite having almost 3 times the experience, with a very similar offense and against much better opponents than the Trojans ever faced.

Good first day for my Bengals, picked up 2 guys that could start immediatly, looking for more O-line help today in round 3, Cincy has 2 third round picks.

Stafford will flop in Detroit because he doesn't have a team around him. The Jets have an offensive line in place. Now I have been hearing Jets will be a playoff team because of this... Superbowl in three years. I am not getting that crazy, but this was clearly the best move made this OFF season IMO let alone the draft, and they'll certainly be more competitive than Detroit. Still a 6-10 ball club but still... Eric Mangini finally does something right in Jet land... :cwink:

You gotta respect that.I wish other coaches put as much emphasis on academics - not everyone make it to the NFL.

a very good 1st day for my 49ers...we have a playmaker

The Lions have enough talent to get them by this year and have some weapons for Stafford while they rebuild their defense. If Stafford was in Oakland, I'd say he has a bigger chance of being a flop.

Probably the best move he made for the Jets and it's while he's coaching the Browns.

Man, I was hoping that Gilbert would fall to Dallas. Damn you Chicago. *shakes fist*

Cincy just can't stay away from players with limited experience. He's got the tools though.

Michael Johnson's going to be a bust in my opinion, which is why I had Oakland taking them in the second round. :hehe:

Dude, I'm very impressed with the Bengals draft. Andre Smith is the best offensive lineman coming out this year, and the fact that Saban came out and had his back told me what I needed to know about him as a person. Teamed with Anthony Collins, who played great last year, you got your bookends. Last year I was hoping that Collins fell to Carolina as insurance in case Jordan Gross left.

I love Rey Malauluga, I think your quietly building a good young defense that needed a face, and Rey is that. And Michael Johson, if Mike Zimmer can get him motivated, is a Kearse/Peppers type pass rusher.

My Dads a Bengals fan, he is quite happy today. I honestly think it's time that the Bengals became a defensive team.

Andre Smith is bigger, stronger, and more powerful than Monroe or Jason Smith, and he has the athleticsm that a guy like Phil Loadholt doesn't. If anything, he is a pro bowl Right Tackle for years to come.

Pats have 3 2nd round picks next year. Love the Mckenzie and espec. Brandon Tate picks; I totally forgot about Tate, hes got some serious prop potential.

A bit biased there, Donnie Boy. ;)

Maclin's skill set is just a clone of Jackson's. He doesn't help you in the special teams game, and you already had two vertical threats in Jackson and Curtis. Where is the possession receiver?
