2010 NFL Draft Discussion

He wont drop past the Patriots, let alone out of the 1st round.

40 times just mean Raiders wont take him, his game speed is still much better than guys Larry Fitz. His eleven foot broad jump is absurd though.

Did you also miss the part where it said he couldnt finish some of the drills like the 3 cone drill and looked ill-prepared for the workout?

Nope, but that isn't gonna effect him. Teams will see his 19 touchdowns in 13 games and say "He takes games seriously. Enough for me".

Yup, nothing is an indicator of NFL success like TD's scored in college games. BTW When is Eric Crouch's Hall of Fame induction again? :o

He's a QB :o

Its been obvious Bryant isn tgoing top 10 due to character concerns for a while. But hes not making it past 22. I have him going to Pittsburg.

LOL yeah no character concerns with that franchise. I'm sure with their QB sexually assaulting women and their "star" WR throwing glassware at people's head, the Rooney's will be more than willing to bring in another person of suspect character. :awesome:

Clausen's not falling into the second round

He could, depending on the direction Buffalo goes and where Bradford ends up.

If Bradford ends up in St. Louis - he Clausen will likely be a Redskin. If Bradford refuses to sign a contract and the Rams decide to go with Suh, Bradford will likely end up being drafted at 2 or 4 by Washington.

Buffalo would then be the next shot. Buffalo needs to fill two tackle positions and has three QB's on the roster who are young. I think Buffalo is more likely to target a more mobile QB given Gailey's track record and the success of the spread office in recent years at a Professional level. Given the fact that Buffalo is going to place a heavy emphasis on the running game regardless of who is at Q - I think an OT like Trent Williams is more important than a QB for the Bills in round 1.

Obviously Cleveland would be the next team brought up, but I don't like Clausen as a west coast QB and I don't think they are going to bring in a top 10 QB after signing Delhomme to a 7 mil contract and trading for Wallace. Furthermore Holmgren has never worked with a first round QB and found tremendous success grooming "project QB's". I think the city of Cleveland should be praying for Tebow.

You then begin to go down the line:

Jacksonville stands out as a possibility, but Garrard was a Pro Bowler (lol) and the team still has holes at other positions. While Garrard is in his 30's, they could look in the second round for a QB like Tebow (or possibly even a destination for McCoy, though I am not high on him anyway) or go a more developmental prospect in a later round. It's worth noting that Jacksonville, along with Washington, St. Louis and Cleveland have already arranged private workouts with Clausen.

Once you get past Jacksonville, you start looking for an Aaron Rodgers situation.

Denver has Brady Quinn.
Miami has four QB's.
San Fran has Alex Smith, David Carr and Nate Davis who has caught the eye of many within the franchise.
Seattle has Whitehurst

Pittsburgh at 18 could be an option depending on Roethlisburger's case.

I doubt the Colts would draft him in the first as I don't think he fits the organization as well as Tebow does.

The Vikings are obviously an option - but I am higher on Tavaris Jackson than most and I think their willingness to wait on Favre demonstrates they are too. People don't pay enough attention to the fact that Jackson not only won the number 2 job, but made the field on some special teams play - the Vikings aren't done with T-Jack. I don't think rookie Clausen beats out either Jackson in 2010.

I think it's very possible that if St. Louis passes on Bradford, they could end up with Clausen. Now whether that means Clausen falls to Round 2 is another issue - he could fall far enough for St. Louis to be able to trade up without making this a two-pick draft.

Hey looks like your boy Dez ran so poorly yesterday because he "forgot his cleats"

LOL what a clown. I wouldn't touch this joker with a 10 foot pole in the first 2 rounds.

I wish if that were to happen he would fall to the second round, but I can easily see a team trading up in the first round to get him.

One doesnt get a body from being lazy.

Love the "yes sir" 's he gives too.

Dez is getting a bad wrap he's gonna be very good I hope the dolphins take him.

Pitt will BPA. Always do.

Not with Bryant, they won't. When there's that big of an issue with the guy, I have no doubt they'll pass on him. I don't doubt that they could take a Wide Receiver with Ward getting so old, but I'd personally like to see this:

Round 1: Either trade up to get Eric Berry (****ing dream scenario, I know), or hope that Earl Thomas falls to the #18 spot. If that doesn't happen, get Kyle Wilson or Mike Iupati. I'm not a huge fan of Mays, but I wouldn't really be disappointed if he was selected here.

Round 2: Hopefully Bruce Campbell would fall here (if we don't get Iupati in the first round), but I don't see that happening after his performance at the Combine. That said, the only team I can see taking him in the first round is Oakland. I don't really see him falling too deeply into the 2nd, though. Other than Campbell, I'd say Brandon Spikes, if he drops here. He'd be a nice replacement for Farrior in a few years.

Round 3: Toby Gerhart. With Willie Parker gone, I think Mendenhall, Gerhart, and Frank Summers (if he turns out to live up to his expectations Mike Tomlin has for him) would be a pretty nice, powerful running game.

Round 4: I'd like to see them pick up Myron Rolle, even if they get one of the two earlier safeties (one could be converted to corner, and Rolle seems like a typical "Steeler-esque" guy- at least, he did before Roethlisberger and Holmes started violating women). If they don't grab one of the earlier safeties, then I think Rolle is a must here. It wouldn't be bad gig to get to learn from Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu.

Not that McNabb is out of the way (i'm still shocked) We'll see how it shakes up people's draft boards.

Because of the McNabb trade, part of me is wondering if the Raiders will take Clausen now. It's probably a long shot, but Al Davis is ****ing stupid.

The only thing the McNabb trade does I belive is cement the Redskins into taking Okung at #4. I also believes it severely limits the Lions and Bucs ability to trade down. Previously their leverage was offering the ability to get in front of the Skins to take a QB. Now that the Skins aren't going QB, they have very little to offer another team unless that team is in love with Okung.

Bradford officially going to be at the draft Tebow and Clausen still undecided.

I kinda hope Tebow doesn't go. After kinda having so much of his career becoming such a media event, I think he deserves a more quiet ceremony and he certainly doesn't deserve the Aaron Rodgers treatment if he ends up slipping out of the first round.

Tebow will be sitting in that room for a while if he does go. Second round to Cleveland or Buffalo is where he'll end up.

Haha with the way he's playing in the NFL now, Aaron Rodgers himself didn't deserve the Aaron Rodgers treatment!
