2010 NFL Draft Discussion

With the rumors that the Rams are offering this year's and next year's first-rounders for Big Ben really makes me wonder what could happen with the first- and eighteenth-overall picks. I'd hate to see such a goddamned great QB go, but at the same time, I'd wonder if the Steelers would draft a QB with the extra first-rounder, or if they're confident enough in Dennis Dixon that they'd draft someone else like Eric Berry, Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, or Russell Okung.

those are lame rumors likely started by some Steeler fans who are huffing paint thinner. No way in hell Big Ben is pulling back 2 1st rounders with the ****-storm flying around him now. Hell, McNabb was just traded for a high 2nd round pick

I could see the Steelers moving Big Ben if an irresistable trade came along, but I doubt they'll move him this year, since he's never been charged with anything and he is their franchise QB. Holmes can be replaced in this year's draft, Ben is a bit tougher to replace. I wonder if many teams are going to be gunning for Jake Locker next year.

If they can get the number one overall they should do it. They could take Berry (think of him and polamalu flying around:eek:) They can draft a qb with their other number one pick or wait till a later round. They could take Tebow that's the kind of charcter they want.

Tebow will be sitting in that room for a while if he does go. Second round to Cleveland or Buffalo is where he'll end up.

I don't think so someone is going to fall in love with the intangibles and take him first round mark my words.

I doubt Tebow would be what the Steelers need. A Jimmy Clauson or Jake Locker next year would be what they need at the QB position, talent wise. Tebow is a project that won't be ready for a few years. If the Steelers can get the number 1 overall pick, I agree that they shouldn't use it on a QB, as Eric Berry would be a much better fit.

As for where Tebow will go, I think teams have too many more pressing needs to take him in the first round, when he's going to be a project. Once he drops into the second round though, it's going to be a feeding frenzy to get up there and grab him and let him learn the system for a few years under an established QB.

Maybe I can just see some owner wanting those dollars from his popularity and liking him.

My grand master hope last year as a buc fan was percy harvin at our pic and then Tebow this year but they went and selected a qb no on was gonna take until maybe the 3rd round.

Big Ben's got two rings, has the magic ability to pull wins out of his ass, and showed last year how good of a passer he really is. I'm not saying his asking price would be two first rounders, but I wouldn't be surprised if a team in such shambles like the Rams would give that much up for as good of a QB as Big Ben is.

And no, they weren't started by Steeler fans. They were actually linked back to someone in a a high-profile news agency is the Pittsburgh area.

That said, I don't believe the rumors are true.

Eagles appear to be really high on Kareem Jackson...doubt he'd be around at 37 though.

Only if a Sean Weatherspoon slips and Detroit takes him instead. Detroit needs Kareem Jackson badly.

And before anyone points it out - yes, I think Reshad Jones is good enough to play for both Kansas City and Chicago.

Normy i'm so suprised you have Tebow in the first round I figured you'd be a naysayer but the Raiders really?!?!?! Like oil and water :D

Even I wouldn't wish Tebow to be condemned to the Raiders.

Tebow going to the Raiders would be worth it if for only the slew of media articles that would follow which compared the event to the "Harrowing of Hell."

Tebow's not going as the eigth overall pick.

Same could have been said for DHB.

Suh will be the guy if we stay at 2. I'm finally to the point of being excited about him. That ESPN Sports Science analysis alleviated my fear of Suh being a product of hype rather than a player that truly measures out as being a special physical freak. Suh will be a wonderful piece to this defense giving us tremendous flexibility on our line.

So many options:

Run downs:
RE: KVB/McBride
NT: Sammie Lee Hill/Suh/Williams
UT: Corey Williams/Suh
LE: Suh/Hunter

Pass downs:
RE: KVB/McBride/Peterson
NT: Suh/Williams
UT: Williams/Suh
LE: Cliff Avril

Looks like Follett may take Sims spot, likely giving us

Follett-Levy-Peterson at linebacker on first and second down, probably with Dizon as a nickel linebacker in passing situations.

While true, Davis is committed to Russell right now. They have other needs that players better than Tebow will be sitting at. If Tebow's there in the second round, I could see Davis making the big splash in taking him, but not at 8th overall.

Colt McCoy to Cleveland huh? Poor kid. haha

this is how it should happen for us (49ers)

13th mike Iupati = a beast
17th joe haden = best cb in the draft

we'd be set:)

I just hope there's no truth to the rumor about taking Jimmy Clausen with one of these picks, we dont need him. If we do take him I'll denounce my 49ers and become a ...COWBOY FAN:cmad: OHH SWEET LORD
