Huh. I never noticed Yoda actually ignored his own rules of grammar.

Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is in limbo at the moment, waiting to see whether Peyton Manning winds up in Denver, and knowing nothing about his future other than that John Elway and John Fox weren’t telling the whole truth when they said Tebow would definitely enter training camp as the Broncos’ starting quarterback.

Given that, it’s unsurprising that the usually congenial Tebow isn’t in the mood to tak to reporters right now.

Tebow is making appearances in Tampa this weekend to raise money for wounded war veterans, and he had said he would speak to reporters. But Nicole Darin, sports anchor at WTSP-TV, reports that Tebow is rattled by Manning’s visit with the Broncos and refused to speak with the media as originally promised.

It’s hard to blame Tebow for that: When he originally planned the media session, he thought it would be an opportunity to raise awareness for wounded troops. He now realizes that at any appearance he makes will raise awareness of the fact that the Broncos aren’t as confident in him as they’ve claimed to be.

So Tebow is going to keep a low profile for now, while he waits and wonders whether he’ll be keeping a low profile next season as the holder of Manning’s clipboard.

Then they stick with Matt Moore. Enough Fins fans liked him for him to stick around & he is already under contract & paid for

How can Fins fand like Moore . He is terrible . Your not going to win with Matt Moore

I'm loving this. I wonder if all the Teboneheads are on suicide watch right now.

Matt Moore is not terrible. He's average at best and could play for the next decade in the NFL as a game manager type QB.

Tebow as Manning's clipboard holder? What? Was Jim Sorgi not available?

OK terrible maybe an overstatement He is an adequate backup at best . If the Dolphins are serious about competing with Pats and Jets in The AFC east , he ain't the answer

Reports are saying that the Broncos are very encouraged by their meeting with Manning.

I think if Peyton comes Broncos new starting QB, Tebow may actually have the opportunity to develop his much-maligned passing game since he'll be able to watch a future HOFer and learn the skill first-hand. But if he'd rather sulk and pout over it, his days as a Broncos player may be at an end. However, if Broncos don't land Peyton, what then? It will be very awkward when the training camp arrives.

Btw, what the heck is the Jets organization thinking when they award Sanchez with a three-year, $40.5 million extension, while he still has two years remaining on his contract? That's why they coined the term SOJ (Same Old Jets).

I've looked into some of the news stories, and it sounds like a glamorized restructuring that will free up some cap space. Pretty sure they can dump Sanchez after 2 years which was the end of his previous contract. But they have so many holes to fill, wr, safeties, rb, defensive line.

Seriously, can people research a little bit into why Sanchez got the contract??

They save tons of money by flexing out that base pay and it allows the Jets to get some real help on defense. As I mentioned, they can make a major acquisition this offseason.

Still think if he blows after two seasons they will let him go

Sanchez base salary is 3.25 million for 2012. We freed up 6.4 million.

If Sanchez disappoints in 2012, Jets can trade him by offering a team a QB with a 4-yr contract with $8.75M commitment in guarantees #nfl

So, if Mark Sanchez turns it around in next 2 years, Jets will pay him at 13.5M/year for final 3 years. That’s favorable for the team #nfl

Jets had $11.75M investment in Sanchez in 2012 (8.5M base + 3.25 bonuses) & $6M investment in ’13 ($4.5 base + $1.5M bonus) w/no extension.

If Jets kept Sanchez in ’12 & ’13 (w/no extension), they would have paid him $17.75M. Now, they added $2.75M in exchange for 3 more yrs.

Analysis of Mark Sanchez's 3-year contract extension. The Jets didn't break the bank as some initially believed. #nfl http://nydn.us/wPDCl3

So the Skins mortgage the farm for the second coming of Andre Ware..... lol

If I'm a Rams fan I'm ecstatic right now getting all those high picks from what will likely still be a bad team for the next 2-3 years. If they can still get Blackmon at 6, Jeff Fisher is a genius.

As for Manning, I stick with my opinion that he'll wind up in Arizona.

I really want Richardson :csad:.

Gnome got the quote right. :oldrazz:

Thanks. If it's one thing I know, it's Star Wars.

Huh. I never noticed Yoda actually ignored his own rules of grammar.

His "rules of grammar" are not as heavy handed in the original trilogy. They pushed the syntax more in the prequels.

Anyway, back to the Phins, yes, Matt Moore did a good job down the stretch for us. But, didn't the same thing happen in Carolina? He came off the bench and was really good, that the next year he was named a starter and then fell flat? Moore might be a good #2. But, I really hope they get either Manning or Flynn. I'm hoping Flynn is like the next "Rodgers" stuck behind "Favre." I would assume Philbin would know if he is or not. And if we get Manning, I hope we draft a QB, because otherwise, we'll be in the same boat in a year or three.

I actually wouldn't mind him on the Rams to be honest.

Spider-Gnome: Moore started 12 games down the stretch for Miami. Set career passing yards, TD's, win total in a season. In 09, he went 4-1 as starter in 5 games. So it's a bit different.

Also sometimes Moore looks pissed during pressers. Probably thinking about that horrible ping pong movie with Christopher Walken. Moore plays ping pong.

...

I read stuff...

This trade would turn out to be the Hershel Walker trade for the Rams, although the biggest question mark remains to be Sanford and his health.

Aaron Smith released, writes classy goodbye to Steeler nation

It seems to me like he is retiring. Either way, classy way to go out.

I know a lot of people are mourning the loss of Hines, I personally will miss Smith more. Such a stable force in the locker room and one of the unsung heroes of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The fact that he could routinely occupy two and sometimes three blockers is what made those linebackers shine. It was time for him to go, but it is a big loss.

If Manning goes to Denver, Tebowmania will head elsewhere:

Peyton has much more respect from me than that Favre fellow because Peyton said that while his tenure from the Colts is over, he still wants to play, unlike Favre, who retired twice so that he could play for the Vikings.

Besides, Peyton will retire a Colt anyways when he signs one of those one day contracts.

That's not a huge surprise. I could see Tebow going to Jacksonville (and he could actually work pretty well in a Mike Mularkey system which puts so much emphasis on O-line and rushing). That being said, it is a damn shame that he won't just change positions as he would make a tremendous fullback (Pro Bowl caliber).

Jacksonville would eat it up to have their hometown boy return.
