Possible...but if he is going to have any connection to the Bush years, it would be Rice....and I still think he may pull that one out of the bag....even if she is Pro-Choice....

The Religious Right already isn't crazy about Romney. Bring in a pro-choice moderate, and he might as well throw the towel in.

Nope, they hate Obama more.....they will come out and vote....

Most will probably come out and vote but will the base go that extra mile to back them. A Mormon and a Pro Choice Moderate isn't exactly an Evangelical dream team. lol

2012 is looking alot like 2004

You have a President alot of people dislike going up against somebody who on paper seems like a good candidate, but doesn't really stand for anything. Hell even the campaign tactics from Obama have a Roveian feel to them(which is highly ironic when he starts talking how bad they are)

Mitt has to pick a VP wisely because no matter who he picks they will have their positive and negative points

That is the question we are asking about both bases....it is going to come down to Independents and the turn out....

.

Agreed 100%

I think the story is he might pick Dick's daughter Liz, but I think that's very unlikely

Ha, a Mormon AND a lesbian. I would love to see that just for the evangelical reaction.

Mary Cheney is a lesbian, not Liz...Liz is married with 5 children.

Is Liz the one that's alway on Fox? Damn, it would have been funny anyways.

Yes, I believe she is a Fox contributor...she was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs in the Bush Administration...

Yeah, Obama is smacking Romney hard on this offshoring made up controversy. Romney is pretty much off message. I haven't heard anything about what Romney plans to do fix economy. Pretty bad.

Did Jimmy Carter try fight back at Reagan this hard in 1980 election? Not that I'm consider Romney anywhere Reagan, but I'm trying to figure out if a president in a weak economy can really slam the opposition to victory. Maybe this is election 2004 redux.

Yeah, this is like 2004. But I don't see how this offshoring controversy is "made up".

"outsourcing"???? I don't think anyone is making up that Bain outsourced, large companies do that all the time....my only problem with that is the President is a hypocrite, because he has been doing the same damn thing.

In fact, since that came out, the Democrats have kind of changed their tune from the "outsourcing" as the main lead, and turned it to, is Romney telling the truth as to "when he left Bain Capital"....BUT, Obama has kept the "He wants to outsource, I want to in source" in his stump speech....but oh well, hypocrisy seems to be the key word in this Presidential year....

Obama Teleprompter Getting Less Use On Campaign Trail

I like that the fact that he is using it less and less...but I think it got him in trouble. Now before people start slamming on me and bellowing "that was taken out of context" let me preface by saying...."I know..." : ) But, I think this happens a lot with Obama....before going on, this is the statement I'm talking about.

This is a portion of the stump speech...
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
I know what he meant, and to me it is obvious what he meant, BUT....when he starts getting away from the teleprompter....and the crowd gets excited, and claps at everything, he tends to go too far, he starts the "Crunk President schtick" and IMO, this is an example. The direction he was going was fine, but he went too far and it looks like off teleprompter, because I REALLY HOPE someone did not write in his speech...." If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen". Because that would be the dumbest thing put in his speech to date. YES, we've all had "help" with the successes that we have had....but that statement on purpose would be stupid, I don't think he is that stupid.

Point is....now that he is off the teleprompter at times.....he really needs to not get "crunk" when he has the audience pushing him with applause. He tends to get "cocky" when this happens...and this is a statement that can/will be used against him. Much like Romney's "I was severly conservative..." and actually will probably used far more.

So, good for you Mr. President, for ditching the Teleprompter.....but don't let your cockiness get the better of you.....stay Presidential.

It's very clear that Obama will be reelected unless the US enters into double dip recession. The country is still largely distrustful of Republicans after the Bush years and it won't be at least until 2016 that this sentiment changes. Obama's first term is still much more productive than Bush's one was for sure.

Obama or Romney or even just the D's and the R's are leading us into a monetary collapse. Math don't lie. The sad thing is, that may what it takes to get a 3rd party into office. The simple fact is both parties don't care about us anymore. They lie, lie lie, take $$$. That is it. Now of course there has to be some good D's and R's left, I just don't see the good ones left getting their party's Nomination.

I agree....but some may disagree on how great the laws passed in Obama's first term were for the country....but yeah, he was able to get done quite a bit....and continue the **** that Bush started....not so sure that is what was needed.

I for one, hope Obama wins so that he can own all of this, good or bad....whatever ends up happening in the second term....hopefully some good. : )

Yeah, Ann Romney is no where near the detriment that Teresa Heinz-Kerry was. I'd say that Michelle Obama would be closer to Mrs. Kerry than Ann. That said, I don't think that First Lady "candidates," will play that big of a role this time around (unless the Democrats are stupid enough to attack Ann Romney again....it'll once again blow up in their faces).

I don't either, Michelle Obama seems to be rather quiet this time around....she might play more of a role closer to the vote......but really most First Ladies, chill when their husbands run for 2nd term, so I'm not real surprised by this...

For everyone calling Romney the Republican Kerry:

Why the 2012 Campaign is Nothing Like 2004

Interesting, but it reads like a Republican really trying hard to downplay the similarities of 2004 and now for the sake of their own candidate.

Sure, it can't exactly be like 2004, and comparing numbers doesn't disprove the simliarities. And it goes further than just Bane=Swiftboating.

Ya I hope Obama wins. Romney is an idiot and would drive this country into the ground
