Conservatives not liking Romney because he isn't Conservative enough for them....is far different than the Democrats just not being excited over Kerry....I would compare McCain to Kerry before I would compare Romney to Kerry....

Obama will win and it will be more of the same garbage from people who don't know what it means to be poor or who can't relate to the common man. If Romney wins, there will be a slight change in direction, but the final outcome will be the same. The only president or administration that has had any lasting effect on us in the last 30 years has been Bush. Those effects have been resoundingly negative because of 2 wars THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED and banks (a housing market) that were not regulated tightly enough.

Either way in the next 4 years THERE WILL BE YET ANOTHER PROVOCATION AND WAR WILL BREAK OUT WITH IRAN!

in short, it doesn't matter who wins!

I'll agree with you on some...but as far as the housing market, which is one of the biggest reasons for the problems we have....you can thank Dodd and Frank for that one....McCain and Hutchinson put in 3 different bills for more regulation, and NONE, I repeat....NONE of them got out of Dodd's committee....I wonder why? so lets be clear, yes Bush holds on tight to the two wars....but the banking industry has been a bomb ready to explode for a long time, and housing debacle belongs in good part to Dodd and Frank....

“I think that the responsibility that the Democrats had may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress, or by me when I was President, to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.” – Former President Bill Clinton (D-AR), September 25, 2008
“Like a lot of my Democratic colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie. I defended their efforts to encourage affordable homeownership when in retrospect I should have heeded the concerns raised by their regulator in 2004. Frankly, I wish my Democratic colleagues would admit when it comes to Fannie and Freddie, we were wrong.” – Congressman Artur Davis (D-AL), September 30, 2008

Bush starting in 2001 asked Congress to stop Freddie and Fannie I believe a total of 17 times...

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress.... So when people talk about blame....

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... and who took over Congress....

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

Barack Obama was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit that I believe solely belongs to Bush and the Republicans, it is the deficit from 2007, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

So, I'm all for blaming Bush on a lot of things between 2000 - 2008, and I start with buying the 2000 election, I disagreed with both wars, always have, and always will....I disagreed with the bank bailouts, always did, and always will....but I want to put blame where it is due....

And I definitely agree with your last statement....both seem to be the same side of the coin in many ways....except rhetoric...

I applaud all of your data and findings, however none of this matters if the current administration doesn't fix the problem(s). Some people seem to forget that the government AS A WHOLE belong to us. They are our *****es! WE EMPLOYEE THEM! On the other hand, bu the people for the people is kind of an antiquated concept at this point. Fascism is the new America! Certain citizens can't even have certain bumper stickers or espouse certain political views without getting put on "WATCH LISTS" anymore. The PATRIOT ACT was not abolished by OBAMA, in fact he signed it into law again when he took office. THAT IS WHY NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE!

Which is why I ended my posts with what I did.... : )

http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012...ee-swing-state-polls-hits-50-percent-20120801

President Obama holds significant leads over Mitt Romney in three crucial battleground states, hitting the critical 50 percent threshold in each, according to new Quinnipiac University/CBS News/New York Times polls released early Wednesday that show the president performing virtually equally among the key groups that will determine his prospects for earning a second term.

Obama leads Romney by 6 percentage points in both Florida and Ohio, while in Pennsylvania, traditionally a more Democratic-leaning state, he leads by a robust 11 points.

It's kind of true though. The billboard is more a statement on the imperialistic politics of the US than an actual attack on Obama himself. If its offensive to the lives lost in the movie theater shooting, it should also be offensive to the lives lost in these useless wars we provoke and perpetuate.

I understand, and I heard the groups explanation....and yes...BUT, there are other ways to make that statement....and the fact that Obama holds closer to their agenda than ANY REPUBLICAN EVER WILL...well, its kind of like... "cutting your nose off to spite your face"....that is the stupidity of it...

Yes. I kind of agree. It is sad though in general that these politicians try to appeal to us like we're stupid. The sad thing is, the majority of my family think Obama is doing a good job.

It's sad how incompotent some people are. And why did the Billboard coporation that owns the billboard even accept putting that up? It's disrespectful and distasteful.

You think Obama deserves respect?

That's laughable!

I know, right! Comparing the president to mass murdering terrorist is totally what he deserves!

Again. No one compared him to a terrorist. The billboard compared America's foreign policy to terrorism using Obama as a scapegoat. Believe me, Bush was much worse than Obama and he got the same treatment during his 2 terms.

And that makes it justiied for Obama? It was excessive for Bush, and it's excessive for Obama. Not to mention it is completely in poor taste.

Excessive for Obama, I grant you. He deserves the criticism for reinstating the Patriot Act, but excessive for Bush? C'mon. Bush and Cheney are war criminals. I'll never believe any criticism is too excessive for Bush. The man claims water boarding isn't torture for god sakes. Enough said!

I can't say I disagree with that.

Waging aggressive war against a sovereign nation was declared a war crime at the Nuremberg Trials. Those weren't supposed to only punish the Nazis, they were also meant to set a legal precedent for the future.

The thing is, my criticisms of Obama and the government are one thing, but Bush? Forget it. The man is himself a threat to the security and prosperity of our nation. We're seeing that now with the tanked economy which tanked in large part to our recent involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thank you for that Crystal Ball Announcement.... : )

PA and Ohio are going to go to Obama.

I think Ohio is going to be a hard state for the republicans to win, their unemployment rate is lower then the national average so "the economy sucks and it's all Obama's fault" will be a harder message to try win with then other states(Virginia, New Hampshire and Iowa are also other swing states that I don't think the economy sucks message will work that great due to below average unemployment rates).

Pennsylvania on the other hand the Economy sucks message might work there but PA seems like a state that leans Democrat more then Republican, so you have to try win over more voters(or create laws that will create an issue with people who are more likely to vote democrat)

States like Virginia, Ohio....also have Republican governors, and much of that praise can go to them....so that strategy might backfire....

PA and Ohio are both tricky. Ohio was hit harder than any other state by the 2002 recession. But in 2004 they went Bush and despite taking a hit from the recent recession, they switched right back to a Republican governor. They are a weird state that in theory votes with their wallets....but doesn't.

As for PA, it leans Democrat in presidential elections. It leans Republican in gubernatorial elections and is solid red in congressional and state assembly elections. We're split in terms of Senators but historically we go red for that.

If I were to guess today, despite the polls, PA goes blue, Ohio Red. That may change depending on the various developments. I know conventional wisdom suggests that VPs are no longer factors, but I do think Portman could go a long way in winning Ohio.
