Tsk, tsk.

Don't you know that the Pittsburgh Steelers' bumblebee prisoner uniforms are the best alternate uniforms of all time?

Please. The Broncos and their turd & mustard colors are tops!

Actually, I think The Redskins' throwbacks from last year were more dreadful than those unis.

Oh yes, those Redskins doodoo brown helmets.

Chile and Cheese man... Herman Schultz a.k.a. the Shocker...

Sometimes brown and yellow DO go together.

Atlanta signs Matt Ryan to a new deal, 5 years $103 million.

Oh god dammit. Another QB with a 100+ million dollar contract. Damn the new standard to hell! :cmad:

Honestly, I don't understand this new standard. Does Ryan really deserve a 100 million dollar contract? All due respect to Atlanta fans, but he only won one playoff game. I understand that he's the QB of the future but damn, he can at least reach a Super Bowl first at minimum. Think of all the talent that Atlanta could sign with that extra money in the coming years.

It's Flacco all over again.

:o

Things are gonna get interesting when Julio Jones' rookie contract expires. Luckily for Atlanta, there isn't a superstar on defense (other than maybe Decoud and Witherspoon).

I love training camp. We're ever so close to a new season. :applaud: Oh, how I've missed football.

It's so close I can smell it.

I've never cared about preseason but I've been missing football so much lately that I'm actually a little excited to watch it.

I usually watch it. It's on Friday/Sat nights, so it's something different to watch.

That uniform was so bad I liked it. :woot:

Heh, well yes. I liked it because it gave me something to laugh at.

Of course, a few years later when my team debuted throwback uniforms that were almost as bad (if not worse), well...

Pitta's injury hurt the Ravens a lot as he was supposed to take over Boldins role as the posession receiver,oh well next man up.

I guess it depends on the definition of what a franchise QB is. A QB who at least puts up wins in the regular season and/or success in the post season in some sort of consistency? And can you put a price tag on that.

How many QBs after getting the big payday (not including pre 2010 for getting that ridiculous rookie contract)? Recently, I think Eli got a payday after 2007 SB and then won another one.

Also think it's funny with people marveling about Brady taking lesser money not realizing, that 3 years ago he did a contract extension that made him the highest NFL QB for the time being.

I can't hate on Ryan or any QB for that matter for not trying to get that money.

However, I will say that Ryan doesn't deserve a 100 million dollar contract. He's not Brady who has went to 5 Super Bowls, won 3 of them, has taken the Patriots to the playoffs almost every year he's been starting QB, and is arguably the greatest QB of the decade by stats, rating, (etc.) aside from Peyton Manning. He's not Peyton Manning, Brees, or Rodgers, who have a Super Bowl ring, broken records, and can have cases made to be the best QB in the league right now.

My thing is, at least winning a Super Bowl can warrant a big pay day. As much as I hate that Flacco got a 100 million dollar contract after winning one Super Bowl, at least he has the leverage of winning a Super Bowl. Ryan won a playoff game.

Yeah, but... ADRIAN PETERSON! THEY CAN MAKE IT BACK IN NO TIME!

Just kidding. Seriously though, living in DC after the RGIII injury last year, I've constantly heard all these talking heads acting like Adrian Peterson's amazing comeback from serious injury is somehow now the standard. I wish RGIII all the luck in the world and hope he makes an equally impressive comeback, but these people act like he will win MVP next year, throwing for 5,000 yards and rushing for 2,000. Peterson's injury/recovery was a fluke, and these guys act like it's standard practice in the NFL.
