Out of those 4 times, Ryan threw an interception on 1 and fumbled the ball another time.

The other time was a punt, and obviously the arguable non call on pass interference.

So you can say that half the drives in the 2nd half were Ryan's fault.

And I'm not saying that Ryan isn't a good QB, but another one and done in the Playoffs or I think it's really Super Bowl or bust for this team, for a QB who'd be in the league 6 years? I think the criticisms will start to get louder.

So how does Ryan deserve a fifth spot in the rankings if he's not taking full advantage of his receivers?

QBs like Rodgers, Mannings, Brady, Brees make their 3rd and 4th round receivers look good. What's Ryan's excuse with his HOF TE, his 1st round WRers, and now Steven Jackson?

I'm not fond of these rankings based on "future forecasting". I'd rank Ryan in the Top 10 but he needs to do a little bit more in the playoffs.

The real crazy talk is having Seattle #1 in power rankings.

How so? They're stacked at every position. Their weakest point seems to be WR (at least until Percy Harvin returns), but with Russell Wilson at QB, they'll be fine.

I'm not necessarily sure I'd put Seattle at #1 right now, but I wouldn't be shocked if they wind up being the best team in the NFC, or even the NFL, at the end of the year.

That said, not a single play has been called in the regular season, so everyone is 0-0. None of this really matters.

Maybe I'm looking at it differently, but I don't blame Matt Ryan for the NFC Championship game. Having been at that game, I saw first had what Ryan was capable of, and Ryan to Jones / White / Gonzalez is straight scary.

But it's not Matt Ryan's fault he's got no defense, no pass rush, and no secondary supporting him.

If I was starting a team today, I would take Matt Ryan over most any QB in the league right now.

Obviously I wouldn't rate him higher than the Brady / Peyton / Brees / Rodgers group, but I'd take him over Big Ben / Eli / Flacco easy, and I think the potential is through the roof for the Matt Ryan / CK7 / RGIII / Cam Newton / Andrew Luck group of QB's.

All in all, whatever the rankings, QB play is particularly exciting right now... I'm not necessarily talking about the style of play that's coming with the read-option, but rather just the fact that between the up and comers like Ryan / Stafford / Kaepernick / Griffin / Newton / Luck, the "in their primers" like Eli / Ben / Joe Flacco, and the Hall of Fame elites like Peyton / Brady / Brees / Rodgers, there's a LOT of talent at the QB position throughout the league right now.
