Doomsday, at least you got Ginn back. That's...well, something more than you had.

Do you guys think that Suh got overpaid?

Yes, but sometimes it's taking gambles like this that make you a better club in the long run. Not to mention the Dolphins are in the division with the Super Bowl champs.

I really hope the AFC becomes more competitive that it has been. Since like 1996, there's been 7 teams to represent the conference in the Super Bowl. The NFC has had 13.

That pressure is going to be killer. Suh & Wake? :wow:

McCourty resigned with a deal worth 5 years, 47.5 million with 28.5 guaranteed. I wonder how much they're gonna offer Revis?

It's a sad day in hell when our fanbase celebrates the return of a WR bust who lost his job to two rookies in 2014. I pray Strong or White drop to us.

Cam is truly the LeBron of the NFL.

Frank Gore is going to the Eagles according to ESPN.

I was lucky enough to have seen his first NFL TD in person, in an otherwise pathetic effort by the Niners in '05. He's been the catalyst of the O even as he aged. Hats off to him for surviving in this league for so long, especially with his injury history and inept HCs like Nolan and Singletary.

Torrey Smith to sign with 49ers.

I'm not overwhelmed by this. The 49ers are plagued with targets who can't get separation, so perhaps Smith's speed can help. He hasn't shown himself to be a complete WR yet, but perhaps we haven't seen his prime.

I really hope the Niners keep Vernon and he returns to his usual self next year. Otherwise, this team could have some real scoring problems. I'm preparing for a couple of bad seasons with so many positions in flux and a new HC.

Honestly, I'm not overly optimistic with Kaepernick at the helm as QB. I truly hopes he develops & matures, AND proves me wrong.

I like Kaepernick, but I'm also the type of fan who thinks the emphasis on the QB is overblown. Even if his numbers improve, there are too many holes across the board right now.

The 49ers succeeded with a nasty D for 3 years, and that fell apart in 2014. The pass blocking went from subpar to awful, and once sure-handed WRs and TEs were dropping everything in sight. Tomsula has got his work cut out for him.

Dude, it's not your WRs or TEs. The real issue with your offense is Kaepernick. You wanna talk about separation and protection, we'll gladly take your receiving and blocking core. Blaming Roman for your offensive deficiencies is hilarious. Colin can't handle a normal offense because he has issues going beyond his first read. This would be the equivalent of Bengal fans blaming Green, Gresham, Hill, etc for Dalton's struggles.

Duke, himself, sees the problem. Kaepernick has to step up. If he doesn't, your offense is doomed.

Exactly...he goes through his progression slow, which causes him to hold the ball much too long & late with his passes. Dude has lost confidence & is hesitant.

BREAKING NEWS: 49ers have put Colin Kaepernick on the trading block. Taking offers.

Shocking. :funny:

The Yorks are getting rid of Harbaugh's boy. They must have no faith in the guy at all OR they're just interested in rebuilding.

This isn't that shocking to me. Kaepernick was overvalued as an asset to the 49ers; IMO, he was made starter too soon, and it showed.

What IS shocking is that the Eagles, who were said to be going "All in" for Marcus Mariota (who is actually a better fit in Kelly's system than Kaepernick), and planning to do whatever it takes to get him.

Free Agency just got very interesting....

You're trying to convince the wrong person. The emphasis put on the QB position by modern fans and the media is laughably overblown. It's still a dependent position, and all but a tiny percentage of QBs can be made to look average or worse when their supporting cast is getting dominated.

The fact is that Kaepernick has already been a part of numerous playoff wins, including places like Green Bay and Carolina. He's performed at a very high level, but the 49ers of 2011-2013 were deep TEAMS. That's how they changed QBs in the middle of that 3 year run and actually had a more productive offense. The problem now is that the man with the vision is gone as are some of the pillars of those years. If those problems aren't fixed, it won't matter how well Kaepernick plays because he's still just one guy playing in complex, three-phase game.

Yes, he's apart of playoff wins but Kaepernick has never played at a high level as a passer without his legs. Harbaugh and Roman both tried to make Kaepernick a more traditional QB but the results were mediocre at best. Without The Pistol, Colin can't move the chains and dictate any offense consistently. As other Niner fans in here have said, Kaepernick takes way too long to get off his first read. Your OL was never designed to pass block in the first place. In fact, your offense is suited for the run game. Offensive schemes that revolve around ''throwing it to whenever Crabtree or Boldin or Davis get open'' is not a longterm solution.

Suh was always a mercenary. We'd have kept him in Detroit if we offered just $1 more than Miami, but their offer is somewhat ridiculous, not to mention no state tax in FL, so that's another 4% in his pocket right there.

The sad part is, the deal the Lions offered him to stay, he probably would've taken last year at this time. Instead Mayhew underestimated the market (or the stupidity of the Dolphins) that he'd actually get $20 million per year from a team he was asking for and let him get too close to free agency and you can't blame Suh really. What did he have to lose?

Mayhew and Lewand are also at fault for mismanaging his contract. When they restructured his deal to resign Megatron and add Bush, Quin, etc. a couple years ago, they back-loaded his contract so much that it shot his franchise tag number up to a ridiculous amount. Had they handled that better, they could've atleast held on to him for another year.

That being said a DT should never be the highest paid player on your team. I dont care who he is. This is going to be painful for the Dolphins when they go to resign more of their key players in the coming years.

Suh's cap room now gives the Lions the ability to sign 2 or 3 Pro Bowl level players, and there are enough holes to go around on this team. Would love to see them go after Dan Williams, the Cardinals DT. And then add a decent CB, and OT.

Too young amd had so much potential and was talked about being the next ray lewis.

Soooooo early. WTF. I knew he had injuries but... dayum! I hope Kuechly is around 12 years at the very least.

Willis retiring now makes me think York is about to blow it up.
