2014 NFL thread: The Final Battle

The Pats 3 SB wins were each by 3 points and they are one Welker drop and one Asante Samuel dropped INT from winning both of the games vs. the Giants.

Bottom line is they are constantly in the discussion every year and they are doing it in a time when free agency is rampant. Not one other team has been as consistent as they have since 2001. They have been to 9 of the last 14 conference championships and 6 of the last 14 Super Bowls. They are a great organization, period!

Bingo. And Belichick is so smart with picking guys up whom everyone thinks is done, only to turn him into a heck of a player and sell him off for millions (via trade and such).

And heads up to Seattle too, who have really changed some perceptions in football with the way they've been scouting for explosiveness over size, using statistical analysis and all the technological advances they've made over the past few years to help their organization.

They're both just two smart, good organizations. One has the history of doing it for 10+ years. One recently started doing it (within last 3-5 years). But still.

All of this New England hate disgusts me. And I'm a Pittsburgh fan.

Kubiak returns to the Broncos. Interested to see how next season turns out.

I never hate on another team. Maybe a player that just rubs me the wrong way. I'm a Yankees fan and know what it's like to have people bash your team any chance they can get. I love trash talk in sports among fans, but sometimes they take it too seriously.

So I see that Indi is being a bunch of sore losers. Deflated balls...what a crock of ****. Even if some balls were light, both teams use the same balls, do they not? So the Colts offense would have had the same advantage as the Pats, correct? Why would the Pats give the other team a chance to play better? When you cheat you dont give the other team a possible advantage. That defeats the purpose of cheating.

But lets say the balls were light, even with light balls the Colts still couldnt play worth a damn.:funny:

Oh and unless they have video proof of a patriots player or employee deflating balls I dont see how this can be pinned on the team. Balls deflate on their own. Its on the officials to ensure they are properly inflated. This isn't a case of cheating. Its a case of the officials not doing their damn jobs. And another thing. We all know that if the colts won not a thing would have been said about this. But because the Pats won their must have been cheating involved. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with talent of the Pats and the lack of talent of the Colts.

BREAKING: The NFL is investigating the New England Patriots for using White Cherry Gatorade instead of traditional Orange.

Not hating on either team, just won't be wasting time watching the Sup Bowl this year....just kinda meh. Nothing to see here...

Looks like Chris Evans and Chris Pratt are getting into this rivalry for their SB team on Twitter now.

Agreed! The Patriots are up with the 70s Steelers, 80s 49ers and 90s Cowboys.

Yeah, I agree. Not really excited about this game. I'll end up watching it because I'm sure we'll wind up at a SB party but I really won't care who wins.

Morgan Burnett for just laying down. If that was a game clinching INT, no problem. Fact his there was 5:00 minutes to go and he could have gotten the ball into FG range or even scored a TD. Could have at least been 22-7.

AS a Charger fan reminiscing of how McCree intercepted Tom Brady for practically the win in 2006 (similar situation, would have needed to get a couple of first downs to win it) and he ended up fumbling the return, I would much prefer that he just sat on the interception.

I blame it on the Onside kick. Should have just stayed and blocked like you are coached to do. Sucks for him.

Get drinks in you and trust me you will enjoy the game or atleast the final minutes of it.

There's several ways you can look at it. Yes, going down was a conservative approach. But at the same time, getting your team into FG range was another. Most of the time players are gonna run that INT back. Especially when they're two scores up.

In McCree's situation, I think he would have been better off not going down since they were only 1 score up.(8 Points I believe)

Going down may not have cost the Packers the game, but it certainly started a chain of events.

lol, that's pretty good. Interesting to note that Chris Evans is actually a Patriots fan and a Tom Brady support as he just called out Chris Pratt who is going for the seahawks lol

Actually, they have several differnet balls. The balls for throwing vs kicking are different, and each team brings their own balls for throwing, so they get swapped with each change of possession.

Evans just became all the cooler.

Seriously, someone needs to photoshop a pic of Captain America wearing a Pats jersey...

Some positive chatter about the Seahawks here? :wow: I'm so used to everyone outside of Seattle hating my team and thinking everyone here in Washington is a bandwagon fan. It's unsettling when it's not all hate. :funny:

yeah I mean who would be excited about watching the two best teams in each conference face one another for the championship?

It's like watching two good actors go at each other. It's like a stalemate thing. You kinda wanted the Colts to go in as the underdog.
