Imagine who they could have gotten instead of Richardson. Let the thought burn into your soul.
This is exactly what kills me. Considering all the holes we need to fill, we gave up a first round pick for him?

Speaking of wasted picks, RGIII argued with a fan on Instagram today.

Yay :whatever:

I remember when Washington fans were claiming RG3 was the mobile version of Peyton Manning. It's sad really. Colin Kaepernick has somehow surpassed him as a QB now.

You're right.

I'll admit that I thought he was a great QB and expected good things from him, but I wasn't ready to anoint him the messiah that the rest of the fan base was.

I've been a Redskins fan too long to not know better.

I remember how terrified I was that the Colts would lose their minds and pick RGIII instead of Luck. I still have nightmares about it. :o

You're not the only one. The Pistol fooled a lot of people. The system (and athleticism) made RG3 appear better than he was at reading defenses and passing. It just confirms that Griffin is an athlete playing QB, and Washington, unfortunately, bet on the wrong horse.

That's ice cold, Darth. :hehe:

I suddenly feel blessed to have a franchise QB. They don't exactly grow on trees.

What happened? :woot:

I don't have the emotional capacity to explain the situation, but I'll be nice enough to provide a link :yay:

Yes sir, and this was exactly my worst fear.

I mean, I got excited and absolutely went nuts when we beat Dallas to win the division and advance to the playoffs in 2012, but waiting until the end of the sophomore year was exactly what I preached to fans around me.

There are still a lot of fans who believe in him, but last year was the final verdict for me. I'll happily eat crow if I'm somehow proven wrong.

I'm so glad the Rams didn't pick RGIII that sad sack. Bradford better ****ing be healthy next year.

Unless you are the Colts. :D

How you fools stumbled onto back-to-back franchise QBs, I'll never know...

Dat's okay doe. We got Cam now, and not Teh Jimmeh.

Yep, I don't see how RG3 isn't cut or traded next off-season season. I gotta blame Snyder for that one. He mortgaged the future of a franchise on a player who is mostly known for his track speed and deep ball.

I wanna say injuries have derailed his career but that's only been half the problem. Lack of mechanics, football IQ, field vision, pocket presence, etc have been the other half.

Believe it or not, Shanahan knew what he was doing after all. He hid RG3's deficiencies very well with his system.

To be fair, RG3 was just having fun (singing a song) and some curmudgeonly fan began to lecture him about how he was presenting himself. I only saw about 1 1/2-minute clip, so maybe there was more to it, but it just seemed like an illogical fan projecting his feelings rather than RG3 doing something wrong.

Also, a friend of mine sent me this vid. This is awesome. I wish the Niners had Wilfork.

Haha, did you see this?

According to Jason Cole’s sources, there are teams at the top of the draft that would rather have Sam Bradford, should he become available, than Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston because “they know what Bradford can do.” Is this how the Rams swindle the Redskins again? Let’s hope so!

Why did he get in a fight with someone online? It is just another example of how thin-skinned he is.

Oh God yes. It still bugs me to no end that Shanahan took the fall. RGIII has plenty of deficiencies as a QB, and what Shanahan did with him was amazing. It also didn't hurt that it was a new thing, and his first go around. So teams hadn't adjusted quite yet.

Even if he gets his wheels back, and I doubt it, he will need to grow so much to be effective. He has shown he doesn't know how to play in the pocket.

I don't disagree with a single thing you said. Snyder is most at fault, and if anything, the highlights that people hang onto are a byproduct of the Shanahan's.

The whole injury argument is the most frustrating one I deal with from Skins fans. Even after coming back fully healthy, I can recall at least three games where he got up slow because of a hard hit. When you see QB's such as Manning get up faster than him, that's a major red flag.

The bottom line for me is, at the end of year three you have to start saying, "You either have it or you don't" with a QB. There should at least be flashes of hopeful signs that make you legitimately still root for the guy. I may be in the minority, but I haven't seen any from Griffin, and it doesn't help when you mix in the attention he's always getting off the field.

Cutting him loose after another bad season isn't a question at this point, but I wouldn't even be surprised if our new GM decides to let him go now.

Well apparently we are trying to restructure him and if his agent says no, he very well could be available.

To be honest I think the Redskins should keep RG III and stop catering to him and babying him and make him earn everything. I live out here in DC and I think because of the great rookie season he had we were ready and did hand the keys to the city and team over to him without him earning it. I think RGIII should stay off of social media focus on Football. Show this team or the next (if he should be traded or cut) why he s worth the risk or investment. Because it's only going to get harder from here on out. He can be a great player he just needs to put in the work.

Co-signed. The only time a team should give up on their QB is when he's proven he's not even worth of a roster spot, ala Jamarcus Russell. I grew up near DC and I still remember the fans/local sports media whining about Joe Theismann incessantly--until Redskins won the Super Bowl with him. It's much easier to compensate for a QB's weaknesses than secure a HOF player at that position. Constantly changing the the QB is a recipe for upheaval and failure. RG3 just needs some time.

Also, congrats to him on RG4 ready to make his debut. :woot:
