2015 was going to be one crowded year

You can still sell it by saying from the director of Chronicle.

Don't think that's a selling point to the general public. Few saw that film and Marvel doesn't market their directors to the general public. The trailer will be the only thing that will sell this film. The property is damaged goods and a lot of entertaining superhero films have come out since the first one did. I think this will be more like X-Men: First Class than Man of Steel. The box office will be low but the film will have had a positive response with a demand for a sequel.

A $450 million total is just over what the original made worldwide adjusted for inflation, so it could happen.

Since we keep talking about how much money these 3 will make: Batman/Superman, Age of Ultron, and Star Wars 7, which one as of this moment do you guys think will be the best quality wise?

Probably Age of Ultron. It'll have that delightful Whedon dialogue and RDJ's ad-libs going for it, at least.

Batman/Superman is just an unknown quantity at this time (the concept will definitely lure in folks), but will it satisfy audiences?

Batman/Superman is definitely gonna open big but whether it sticks around in up in the air depending on how much you trust Snyder/Goyer etc.

I think Snyder/Goyer gets certain aspects right. But it's just the execution that worries me.

It's weird how I can't predict the quality of both WF and SW at all. It could really go either way. I have an idea more or less on how Avengers 2 will be so I'm going with that for now.

The answer on the quality: We have no idea.

But if I were to guess:

1.) Avengers 2 will be up to our expectations..
2.) Star Wars 7 will able to capture the magic of the originals, making it a SW sequel that brings back the ones who were indifferent towards the prequels.
3.)Batman/Superman is the wild card. It's up to Goyer and Synder.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron will have a tremendous burden to carry as far as quality goes since the first was so damn good. I think Whedon can pull it off since he just seems to get these characters but I will not be suprised if there is a tiny drop off. Whedon is choosing Ultron, he has to sell the power of Ultron and then have the Avengers beat him in one movie, thats tougher than what he had to do for The Avengers as Loki was established. I hope he can but I definately think its a tougher movie to make.

Superman/Batman needs to be just as good as MOS and I think that is attainable, Goyer gets Batman better than he gets Superman and I think that puts another check in the corner of this film. The quality of this film will not be looked by the GA as something that needs to eclipse TDK, just MOS, and having Batman in this film may just do it for the GA. Really the quality when you get to the nuts and bolts of it for this film is who they pick as the villain.

Star War Episode VII will have the easiest time being seen as good quality since it is going to be the first film since a weak, albeit the best, prequel in 2005 in a film series that is legendary beyond all belief. Having Abrams at the forefront and helming only solidfies this as the man has done amazing work with Trek and he does what many other directors have failed at and that is making Sci-Fi accessible, this trait alone will make his film SEEM quality to the GA and ultimately may have the best go at being the most quality because of what came before it.

Michael Arndt is writing it too and he has a good track record.

First of all, I definitely think that these 3 movies are THE 3 movies of 2015, no question. Those 3 are battling it out - every other movie is watching from the sidelines.

In my opinion, Batman/Superman has the most to gain, and can potentially be the most successful AS LONG AS Snyder and Goyer deliver something amazing. Plus, it's different and fresh. And it's never happened before.

Avengers 2 sort of has to "prove itself" in a way, because not only does it run the danger of being more of the same, but in all actuality, it will be. It will be great, no doubt, but will it be a game changer? Will it have that X factor? Probably not. Superman/Batman is changing the game, if only because (if I may wear my heart on my sleeve for a moment...) Batman and Superman are the two greatest, most iconic, and first superheroes ever. This isn't Hulk and Thor - this is big, BIG leagues. The biggest. Only Spider-Man follows behind them.

Episode VII is a big gamble, in my eyes. Abrams isn't exactly amazing or edgy, there will probably be lens flare, and Star Wars fans are THE most unforgiving, rabid, clawing, vicious, passionate fans in the world. If one thing goes wrong or is disliked in this film, it will be torn to shreds. It hasn't even begun filming yet, and it is already on thin ice by my estimation. If they kill Luke, if they add Zac Efron, if they do ANYTHING, they better know what they're doing, because there will be an all-out assault. I'm a huuuuge Star Wars fan, and I'm just going to sit this out patiently until I feel comfortable saying, "I'm excited for this movie."

So yeah, Superman/Batman for the win.

Seriously with the announcement of Batman-Superman movie in 2015 i was looking at the all the blockbusters that are going to be released

March 6th Fantastic FOur Reboot
May 1st The Avengers : Age of Ultron
June 19th Assasins Creed
June 26th Terminator
July 3rd Independance Day 2
July 10th Pirates of tthe Carribbean 5
November 6th Antman and Bond 24
November 20th Hunger Games

Add to that Star Wars VII ( summer 2015) , Batman-Superman ( somewhere 2015)

Really? Too crowded? Fantastic Four has an uphill battle, it won't be a blockbuster. Assassin's Creed probably won't even happen. Terminator and Pirates are both broken franchises, doubt they'll do much. Indepence Day 2, I really doubt anyone will care, Roland Emmerich doesn't have anything left and it's a forgotten movie. Antman is going to probably be the lowest groosing Marvel movie, it's just a really tough sell for a movie. I really see only 1 or 2 of these movies making their money back and I think that's optimistic

I doubt Episode VII will take that Memorial Day spot, but we'll see.

Okay, when has a Star Wars movie not opened on Memorial Day weekend (rereleases don't count)? Like Marvel owns the first weekend in May, Star Wars owns Memorial Day.

Out of the ones mentioned... Hunger Games, Bond 24, and of course AOU will definitely make their money back. I think Pirates is dead too after that last one, but it could be good and make bank. I know I'll probably end up seeing it since I've seen them all so far.

Episodes 1, 2 and 3 came out the weekends prior to Memorial Day weekend, not on Memorial Day weekend.

He knows how to make some really good summer blockbusters.

It's no gamble at all. Star Wars fans are not the most unforgiving rabid fans out there. Passionate? Yes. But trust me....the hatred that comes from the PT is not from one little "mistake" or one little thing wrong. What pissed off fans (the ones that did not like it) were far from nit picks, they were massive fundamental flaws that most of us felt with the entire trilogy. In terms of writing, directing and just film making 101. And yes this is coming from a huge Star Wars fan. It's not small things like "they got the costume wrong" or the cast that one role wrong or something like that. It was a much more massive thing that people like us felt.

JJ is an amazing director. And he is amazing, but Star Wars is never meant to be edgy. STID was a very well done film, albeit some script problems but it's execution was wonderful. So I think with the amazing crew they got, and such a wonderful writer like Michael Ardnt (who is undoubtedly a much better writer then Goyer) it is a great team up, and will be a force to be reckoned with. (pun intended.)

The Beverly Hills Cop TV series is dead but Paramount is now developing a sequel. Watch it come out in 2015...

Do you think 2015 will be the year when studios fight for Superbowl spots?

It's funny how this could be taken seriously too. As if 2015 is the last year of our lives, so the studios are cramming everything that they have into it.

Hard to say. But I'm sure none of them will be my personal favorite of the year. Never been much of a Star Wars fan. Avengers was just "meh" for me. Haven't seen Man of Steel yet, but it seems to have been mixed reactions to that one.

I like JJ. I think he has the potential to be 'amazing'. As much as I liked 'Star Trek' and the rest of his small filmography, he has a lot to prove still. And he will.
