2016 Presidential Third Party Discussion Thread.

He did a good job in NM, depending on who you believe. State was in serious debt. He is honest. Wants to reduce national debt.

The man does not know how to govern, and he doesn't have a clear agenda. He does not want to learn more about how politics work, and the nuances of compromise. Aside from him being pro-LGBT and pro-marijuana, he's as clueless and tax-cut happy as GOPs Pat McCrory and Scott Walker.

Vetoing bills that expand the budget is not a good answer to everything. He's an incompetent government official who does not know how to govern, and nor does he want to learn how to.

Balance budgets, reducing the national debt, and getting out of the middle east ain't clear agenda? Lowering taxes. Make it easy as possible to get people into this country and have them contribute to our society ain't a clear agenda?

I've taken the famous I Side With online test. Got 90% with Johnson. 44% McMullin. 42% Stein. Few other 3rd parties up there like I believe Rocky De La Furte(?) from Reform Party in the 50% ish range. Guess what? Only 30% Trump and 26% Clinton do I agree with on issues.

Johnson is a honest man. He does what he says. And he has shown he is willing to learn, if he has advisors to help him out. Clinton and Trump can have all the best advisors they want, and they are still gonna be pro-war, pro-debt, and corrupt. And Clinton, like Sanders, wants a $15 hour min wage? That is unacceptable. That is a free market role, that is a state and local gov't role. Not the federal gov't job. Jobs will be automated even faster under that. No need to wage the min wage federally. We've seen states do it recently. Cities. Counties. Various businesses. The fight for $15 is a fight to be jobless. If you want $15 so much, work your way up at your current job or go to college or a trade school, to find a better job. Get two jobs if you need more money.

He's said some infuriating things about hate crime and other stupid things. He leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

If people that voted for Stein and Johnson are serious they have to stop focusing on the presidency and start getting officials elected into state wide and congressional offices. Only then will I put any faith in third parties.

1st off the green party already does this, with some success to on the mayoral level

2nd, no third party has every come to prominence with a bottom up approach.
(The last 3rd party that broke out did so from the top ie. the republicans)

3rd, some states require your party to field a presidential or gubernatorial candidate for ballot access to lower races
