So is Fox still planning to make a 24 movie? Because that would be awasome!

I disagree. For some reason I have a feeling 24 won't translate very well onscreen.

I am just getting into the show (only 4 eps into the first season...I know... a long way away!) but I like it so far. I asked my g/f to get me the DVDs for xmas but it probably won't happen.

Debating on continuing to netflix the eps or trying to find them cheap and/or used. Any recommendations?

I guess if you are on a budget check amazon, sellers on there doing bulk season deals might be a good option although if you get some free cash you can get some good brand new sets combining a few seasons

Glad you're enjoying it:up:

Yeah, I've just starting to watch it too. Already watched season one{which was great}. I just gotta watch the rest of the seasons.

They will film the movie during summer 2007 and release it summer 2008. The only problem they're having is figuring out which ideas to include in the show and for the movie. The crew from the show will be involved with the movie they're not going to hand everything to people who've never worked with the show before.

24 has plenty of quality episodes that could be strung together as a film. Its one of the few shows on television that has the cinematic look. 24: The Game translated fine it was just the the actual gameplay/controls of the game that wasn't great but everything else made you feel like you were Jack Bauer. A rental.

For buying the boxsets, look around see what you think is the first couple seasons should be cheap. If not, Netflix. Season six starts in less than a month.

I just don't see the point. Unless it's a 24 hour movie, they might as well call it 2, or 120 and have it be in minutes or something.

They will most likely make it the season finale. Makes sense.

From what I hear, if it gets made, it won't be in real time and it would just be a cliche action movie focusing on Jack Bauer or something. :meow:

Which is pointless.

The stuff I read about it had it taking place over 3 40 minute real time segments, with the time in between being "Travel time" or some crap.

Bah, the TV program sucks. The last thing the film industry needs is the first film that's twenty-four hours long. The siries is so beating a dead ugulate, Jack is not Rambo or the Punisher he can't take out every terrorist agency in the world.

Netflix is awesome!!! Saw the entire 1-5 seasons within 3 months all thanks to netflix!

Yeah, but I want to try to see it all before the next season, which may be impossible. I love the advent of DVD where I can watch a TV show back to back without having to wait a week.

Cool. I'll look into it. I like what I am seeing so far. Bauer is a badass, no doubt. And that always makes for good TV!

Bah what are you smoking? Jack is not supposed to be like Rambo or Punisher. You can't even spell series right.

Kritish isn't smoking anything... that's part of the problem.

The power of the tv show 24 is that it's (practically) 24 hours of REAL TIME drama. AS A TWO HOUR MOVIE, it loses ALL that power. It just turns into a run of the mill, 13 in a dozen action flick and I fail to see any reason to get excited about that.

The power of 24 is Jack Bauer IMO,i see no reason you can't make a Bourne or CR level quality thriller around the character

of course this movie would be awesome. if you've ever had to meet deadlines across town and life's little nuisances get in the way, things do get hectic.

I heard the movie was simply titled ''Jack Bauer'', and it focuses around his granddaughter being held hostage at her elementary school by terrorists who supposedly have bombs in every school in the area..... She is the daughter of Elisha Cuthbert's character (she had the kid with Chase from season 3), and the movie will be only 2 hours of real time.
Oh, and supposedly Cuba Gooding, Jr. is attached to season 6 as well as this supposed movie.
None of this is fact, though.... I just read about it. It's all over IMDB, which doesn't say much....but whatever.

If this is what we can expect from "24 The Movie", I'd rather pop "Nick of Time", "Die Hard with a Vengeance" or "Running Scared" into the DVD player.

There's really nothing about the Jack Bauer character that spellbinds me like it seems to do to most people, so I won't be shilling out 10 bucks for this.

this doesn't even sound like bulls#!t. it's elephants#!t.

strangely enough and being a huge fan of 24 I don't find the idea of a movie very interesting...

I guess they're stretching it and trying to make as much money as possible...

24 probably wouldn't translate well into the big screen...but who knows...maybe I'll be proven wrong.

:)

24 would not translate well to the big screen. The whole point of the show is that it is a thrill a minute in real time. We already get 24 hours of thrills on the tv show, I seriously doubt that they could give us something better in 2 hours.

A&E plays the show in syndication. I'm not sure what season they are doing, but in about a year they've been through the 4 seasons probably about 10 times...so it restarts frequently. Try taping or TIVOing it if you can't catch it.

I agree. I have serious fears that this will turn out like the X-Files movie and pretty much kill the show.
