Now I don't know how everyone else feels, but in my opinon this is the reason we need gun control. The guy had a AK-47, the average person doesn't need an asault rifle.

It turns out the 911 phone call was made after an argument with the mother the kid was having about his dog pissing on the carpet..


Dog piss got these cops killed.

Ok this is a bit crazy, over closeby in Oakland 4 Police officers were killed by one gunman in two separate shootings. It made national headlines and police officers from all around the country attended the funeral at Oracle Arena about 2 weeks ago. And now another similar incident in Pittsburgh

How do you know what the average person reads? Who is to dictate how much protection I need? Not everyone has Johnny Rico watching their back and sorry but if something is coming from Klendathu im not going to be using a handgun on it.

But on a serious note, there are responsible people out there who can control themselves. I offer myself for example all the time coming from a military/cop family. I was raised on the ins and outs of guns, gun cleaning and awareness. Only time I use guns is when I'm at the range, not everyone can say that but its called responsibility. You cant help if one person is stable one day and stable the next. Oh and by the way when they banned alcohol cause of prohibition what happened? It was distributed illegally, you don't think the number of gun sales WOULD GO UP if it was completely banned?

No one is saying ban it completely. I think that is what everone who hears about gun control thinks. Well it is not about taking guns out of everyone's hands. It is about controling who can and can not buy a gun. This guy was a head case and was thrown out of the Marines. Someone like him shouldn't be able to get an assault rifle, let alone a hand gun. Police say he had an arsenal in his house. Friends say he thought the government was out to get him and he stocked up on guns to protect himself from the government. There is no way he bought his gun by legal means. There is no way he could have passed a screening for one, with a background like he had.

I want harder gun control laws. I don't want people who hunt or are sportsmen to lose their guns, but I do not want the nutjobs out there to them. One big thing that would help is not letting people just walk into a gun show and buy a gun. Hell Anyone can walk into Wal-Mart and buy a rifle with little to no questions asked.

Exactly. I mean there are messures law enforcement can take about illegal weapons.. but the black market weapons aren't going to go away.

Why punish Us registered gun owners? It's not going to do **** about the black market.

I'm almost 100% certain that the most predominant reason guns are NOT outlawed in the U.S. are because the Black Market would THRIVE in that situation. If the law prohibits guns, the people who desperately want and/or need them are going to get them anyway.

On top of that, it's our constitutional right.
