360 Vs PS3

Didnt know where exacly I should post this so here it is:

What the Cell is going on?

Blu-ray. The Cell Processor. The RSX graphics chip. The PS3 was supposed to be the most insanely advanced gaming machine ever created. It was supposed to be able to deliver visuals well beyond anything capable on console or PC. According to Sony, the next generation wasn't supposed to begin until PS3 arrived.


So why is it, then, that all these PS3 games look just the same as they do on the Xbox 360?


When the PS2 first launched, Sony demanded that all games on the system be enhanced visually over their rival platform counterparts. The PS2 represented the next generation of gaming, and software was required to support this notion. With the PS3, Sony seemingly has no such requirements, offering us only that it "expects and encourages publishers working on PS3 titles to take full advantage of the technology and features that PS3 provides." Well, encouraging may not be enough. And promises for better looking games in the future don't really cut it. The PS3 is here now, it costs an extra $200 (at minimum), and the visual difference is questionable.


Don't believe us? We put the PS3 lineup to the test. We captured images and video of several games and their Xbox 360 counterparts - using the same exact capture device, with same type of connection cables, running at the same exact resolutions. Now you tell us, are we just missing something or was the next generation here all along?

Yeah, they look pretty even. 1 or 2 of the 360 actually looked better. Some of the PS3 versions did look a little lighter/brighter though.

360 wins, no doubt. Look at Mobile Suit Gundam for PS3. WTF?!?!?!?!?! I can't wait to see what PS3 Killzone will look like after the lies that we've been fed by this company. It's not just from a technical standpoint that I am not buying a PS3, it's also because the company isn't honest with their customers time and time again. They pulled the same bulls--t with PS2 and they did it again with PS3. Over promising and not delivering.

Hell, I might as well keep my 360 and buy a Wii and pay the same price as getting a PS3 and have double the fun.

Dude this is stupid, why compare a console that just launched to a console thats been out for almost two year. Dude Playstation 3 is just starting out and its graphics are almost on par with the 360. I think Microsoft is just scared and want you to think that 360 is the way to go.

Playstation 3 can do so much more than 360 like surfing the web and play in 1080P and Xbox 360 couldn't even do that, now they have to steal all of Sony's ideas and put them on their console.

The eye-toy, the camera, the key boarding?, playing on 1080P things like that. Who cares why don't we all just wait and see how the hell these consoles do in the future. I bet there is a lot of hidden potential inside the PS3 that no one has even tampered yet.

I mean look at how sweet Resistance looks, look at all of the action, destruction, how many guys are on screen, the explosions, the blood, everything. This is only a freakin launch title and it able to do more things than a second genre 360 game. So I mean Playstation 3 isn't out of the fight just yet its only the beginning.

Xbox 360 had an update that allows it to play games in 1080p about two weeks ago. I'm sorry to say, but once again, yawn. I'd also like to say that Sony's PS3 has no set OS, so you have to actually install one on the machine to do anything with it's "web-surfing". Welcome to decades ago!

And Microsoft stealing SONY'S ideas? Don't make me laugh. If you look at it that way, Sony stole the 360's wireless function, it stole the 360's Live (which it didn't steal the universal friends list from, or any of the features that really stand out), and it stole the Marketplace and mini-transactions. And it stole the removable/upgradable HDD idea.. and the idea to go HD in the first place..

The list goes on, bub.

Both are great (at least, there is hope that Sony can put their act together in the near future), so,let´s leave it at that.

Comparing launch games between 2 systems is all well and good... IF THEY LAUNCH IN THE SAME PERIOD.

Comparing PS3 and X360 launch titles (and suggesting that PS3 is better) is stupid.

Here are the facts.

X360 Launch titles were FINISHED over one year ago.

PS3 launch titles are new.

PS3 launch titles had an extra 6 months of development because SONY kept missing the launch dates.

Now... Who in their right mind would even consider comparing a new game to a game that came out over a year ago?

SONY FANS I guess... Since they need every little bit of self reassurance that the PS3 IS NOT IN FACT A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.

You want to compare games? Fine.

GEARS OF WAR vs RESISTANCE



You want to compare multiplatform games to even things up a bit?

RAINBOW 6 - Vegas... Looks better on X360.

CALL OF DUTY 3... Looks better on X360.

MARVEL - ULTIMATE ALLIANCE... Looks better on X360.

TONY HAWKS PROJECT 8... Looks better on X360 (and has online play that PS3 lacks)

The list goes on. If its not better looking on X360 then its the same quality. PS3 is yet to show tthat its 'far superior' in any respect.

Good job building a SUPERCOMPUTER but forgetting to develop an OS to work with it SONY. Leave that to a homebrew community THAT YOU DONT ACTUALLY SUPPORT and an OS THAT YOU DONT ACTUALLY SUPPORT.

A HOME SUPER COMPUTER that can barley surf the web, cant play video of flash content, can only use 256MB of the PS3 memory and has no OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED O.S?

I'm not gonna say that PS3 lost but I will say they are in the biggest disadvantage, just like when Xbox just came out against the gamecube and ps2 and the only thing Xbox had to fight with is halo.

I'll give PS3 half a year when they actually start picking up progress to see the outcome of this feud. Remember 360 had problems also when they started also but now they're okay and are in the lead.

All in all Gears of War is an amazing game and I can't wait for Blue Dragon, Bioshock, Halo Wars, and Halo 3 to come out. Sorry but there is no games that I am interested in the ps3 but good luck.

I'm not going to argue which system is better and which one isn't. Honestly at this time I was just trying to say that it was a little early to have your opinions already set on which console is better. I just tried to give you guys a little insight on what could possibly turn out in the end.

Stop trying to deface the product I purchased and the game that I like. I just think it’s kind of stupid to compare Resistance to Gears of War for a number of factors which you guys never want to take into consideration. I'm not going to name them because as I stated I’m not getting in the middle of this.

I just think you guys need to give PlayStation 3 a chance, I think my post was taken the wrong way as I said I’m a more verbally oral person than typing out what I think so my thoughts and opinions aren't always represented 100% in these debates.

I will admit I jump into the lion’s jaws with no idea what the hell we are talking about and take a side. But right now I’m changing that and I'm just going to sit back and let the whole thing take form. But again don't judge me because I got a PlayStation 3, I love that system and I think it kicks ass. Sure I think some of the things are useless like surfing the web and all that crap and having wi-fi. I think they tried to make it to much like a computer and not much like a game system. I don't have a 360 yet. If I bought one at launch, for me it would have been a waste of money since I wasn't interested in any of the launch titles. I still don't have a 360 yet, because I'm waiting for more of the games I want to play to come out. Then I'll buy one.

If I bought a PS3, it'd be a waste of money since none of the launch titles interest me, and the system only has 1 game I want to play (MGS4). Since I think buying a console for one game is an equal waste of money, I won't get one.

Do I think the system sucks? No.

Honestly I think you all didn't listen to me. Resistance: Fall of Man is one of the greatest First Person Shooter games that I have ever played! The experience was just absolutley mind blowing and it was just amazing.

It f**ked with all of my emotions and surpassed all of my expectations and hyping. I've gotten PM from some people and also check out my Resistance thread in Sony.

So many people who were putting it down telling me it was nothing and that it was going to score very very low actually told me "It was amazing." and Cardplayer who was the most harshest one out of all of you guys actually said "This game, is amazing that damn kid was right." He couldn't even say anything it was all just a bunch of uhm, hhmmm, girr? and told me I was right.

I can't wait to see a game that actually have 40 players online like Resistance which isn't an absolute lag fest. There have been no reported hitches in the online game for Playstation 3 and it can handle that amount of people.

How come if Xbox live is so amazing why can't they get the Perfect Dark 50 players working without any lag? Why can't Halo have more than 16 players. Why can't Gears of War have more than 8 players? *However I discard Gears for the low number because it has good multiplayer so i'm not going to rain on its parade.* But you get my point.....

Yes I am predictable and I jumped back in after saying I was going to leave. But I just thought this needed my last little two cents.
