DeKnight pretty much said as much, saying that budget constraints wouldn't let them stretch that storyline more than the premier.

That would be an interesting way to do it. Personally, I think it would be cool to have him contract a Kryptonian disease ala Lois and Clark. The episode where Clark got sick from a Kryptonian virus was hilarious.

UPDATED 7/11/06: "Secretagentman" strikes again with some spoilage: One of the characters being cast for the episode is "Orlando Block," an unbalanced commando who kidnaps Lex. Initially it seems he is torturing Lex to learn all his secrets, but actually he is the employee of a mysterious mastermind.

Poor Lex, lol.

awesome. I think super breath is a visual enough power where you dont need a CG close up of his lungs. Super hearing on the other hand is a bit tougher to show.

I don't think you even needed the CG for the hearing.

All you have to do is have Clark turn his ear towards the camera, so you can obviously see his ear, and make the voices mildly distorted so you could tell he was using his hearing ability (a la Superman Returns). The ear thing worked okay in the episode where he first got the power, but after that it was just ridiculous to the max.

thats actually what they did eventually on SV too. The CG ear I think was only for the first few episodes and then popped up once again last year

Yea, they havn't given us the ear cam in quite a while.

Those ones work - the first one works for when Clark is close by, and the second one works for when Clark is farther away.

Did they ditch the inner ear thing in Season 4? Because I only did see about a quarter of Season 5...

I do think it would've been easier just to ditch it altogether after Whisper, though. They could've used the FX money to go towards soemthing cooler, like...I don't know. They could've used it for a lot of things.

I don't know what this episode is about since I don't read spoilers, but I hope this is just a working title and they put a new one on it before it's official. This is one of the goofier ones they've had.
