Moving right along with the Friday the 13th marathon:

Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood was...okay. Jason vs. a telekinetic girl was an interesting angle but you can tell at this point they're running out of steam.

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Ah, the infamous one. This one isn't good and the whole first hour is a farfetched slog but the New York scenes are so cheesy and dumb that I can't help but laugh at it. Why are there so many opened barrels of toxic waste just laying around? :funny: But the two best parts in this movie (the rooftop boxing match and the boombox scene) have been spoiled for me many times so there wasn't really anything new for me here.

I finished my watch of the Freddy and Jason Cinematic Universe minus the remakes but there's always room for them as an epilogue in the next couple of weeks.

Okay, so...

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday - WTF even was this movie? I guess multiple people possessed by Jason are better than no Jason at all (looking at you, Part V). Not much to say here. Meh. Not even that Duke guy could save it. Gotta wonder if those opening night crowds went crazy for the Freddy claw grabbing the hockey mask at the end back in 1993.

Jason X - No, I stand corrected. WTF was THIS movie? It was like the early 2000's threw up in space for the backdrop of a Friday the 13th movie. All that was missing was a Nickelback soundtrack. I'd throw in the towel too after this one (not counting FvJ or the remake).

Freddy vs. Jason - This one I've seen before, but over 20 years ago. It was nice to revisit it after now having seen all of the previous movies, as Freddy vs. Jason was the first movie I'd seen in the franchise. I actually like it a little more now as a result. Obviously the reason to watch it is the showdown between the two horror icons but the teen characters, while nothing special, are by default the best they've been since the early movies of each franchise. Kelly Rowland's big scene is still a good one. Overall the movie isn't great but it's still a fun novelty watch just to see the crossover. Plus it's a solid swan song for Robert Englund's Freddy.

They had to wait 10 years for it.

For comparison, could you imagine a 10 year wait between Iron Man and The Avengers? I know we've had post credit teases that have gone nowhere but Freddy vs. Jason was one people actually cared about so 10 years for that payoff is nuts.
Its like getting Batman Begins and Superman Returns and waiting until 2016 to finally see them together on the big screen. :o

Finally did my massive Alien & Predator franchise watch. Seen most of the Alien franchise at some point or another but was my first time watching Resurrection and can say it probably will be my last time. The original Alien remains a masterpiece and one of my favorite horror/sci-fi movies. Tackled Alien:Earth as well but it kind of felt more like a weird Stranger Things knockoff than Alien franchise to me.

First time watching any of the Predator movies except maybe AVP1 a long time ago. Thought Predator and Prey were really good and also enjoyed Predators.
