Technically, this isn't a horror film but honestly it definitely felt like one for the most part. I enjoyed it and as far as modern King adaptations go it's easily one of the best ones out there or atleast the best one I've seen since Doctor Sleep. The ending left a lot to be desired though and I didn't think it hit nearly as hard emotionally as it should have but the performances from David Jonsson and Cooper Hoffman really are fantastic.

Ben Wang was a real standout here too and much better in this than he was in Karate Kid:Legends and while he has great screen presence I do wish we got a bit more of Mark Hamill in this than there was.

7/10

I've still never recovered from this scene:

I have not laughed like that in theaters till Final Destination Bloodlines.

Hmm yeah, not feeling that post credit scene, especially since it retcons Predator 2's ending.

Outside of that, this is another solid Predator entry and proof that Dan is the best thing to happen to this series in a long while. Bring on Badlands!

Cue the Magneto perfection gif. This type of downbeat ghost mockumentary was totally up my alley and I loved every second of it. The less said about that jumpscare, the better, good lord.

I watched Halloween (1978) earlier than usual this year. This and Alien are always a toss up for my favorite horror movie of all time but I might give Halloween the edge just because of how realistic it is (well, apart from Michael shaking off the gunshot wounds and the fall at the end). This movie scared the absolute hell out of me when I was 10 and that was all to do with how believable a situation this whole movie is. This moment of Michael approaching Laurie as she panics trying to open the door will always be iconic. The score, JLC's acting, the way it's shot...just perfect.

I figure between now and the weekend I'll at least be able to get through 2-6 with maybe some room for more if time.
