61 Nights of Halloween (2025 Edition)

You forgot about the couple that ran afoul of Michael in Kills. Oh god, wait, were they his parents?! :weeping:

I still don't understand why they brought Allyson along to find Michael instead of getting her to Laurie. :funny:

From my experience at least, Halloween is still popular but it's nothing like it was when I was a kid as far as trick-or-treating goes. I basically never get them anymore because the only kids who come around are like under 3 years old and their parents take them out really early before I even get home from work so I just leave a bowl of candy out (usually just one bag each of Reese's Cups and Kit Kats which I generally end up eating on my own in the following weeks :o). I guess trunk-or-treating is where it's at. Either that or kids just don't care much about candy anymore. It's just for us adults to stress eat. :o
Seriously our Walmart put Halloween decorations up at the Customer Service desk and like a week later someone complained about it and the decorations got changed to "Harvest".

Speaking of, no respect from Disney. :weeping:

Well, exactly one year ago I watched the original 1922 version and I'm now capping off Halloween and spooky season with Robert Eggers' Nosferatu.

There are so many elements that make this movie work but none greater than Bill Skarsgard, who disappears into the role of Orlok even moreso than he did as Pennywise. The guy is an absolute legend. Also, I know Aaron Taylor Johnson has gotten a lot of flak for his acting over the years but I think he's legitimately good in this and I will die on that hill. Dafoe is fun in this as usual as a man who coerced a vampire into destroying the lives of a couple just so he could adopt their kitten as his own.

And that's that for my 2025 Halloween season marathon. September was slow but October really ramped up with taking on Freddy, Jason and Michael in succession. I suppose next year I might have to keep up the pace with Chucky, Hellraiser, maybe The Conjuring.

:halloween:

about to head out to see a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show they do it at this small local theater that does both live shows and movies. they have people who dressed up on stage to show off and judged who has best costume then they do the movie where we all get to interact at key parts of the movie. I have done it a few times but not since 2022/2023. since it fell on halloween I just had to re visit it.
