UPDATED 7/15/08: [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Casting notices have gone out in Vancouver for the role of Maxima. Maxima first appeared in DC Comics' Action Comics #645 back in 1989 and was at one time even a member of the Justice League comic book continuity. She also appeared in the Superman animated series. The comics version of Maxima is a royal queen from the planet Almerac determined to make Superman her bride.[/FONT]

I hope this turns out to happen, it will be cool to see her in the show. I know alot of people were thinking that maxima, mercy graves, or even livewire was going to be the female villain of the season before smallville's tess character was reveal. This season is sounding even cool first justice league returns, clark at the daily planet, plastique villain being featured in an episode, now maxima. I hope they cast her as an adult and a sexy smoking gal.

- UPDATE: The "Maxima" casting notice is now known as "Melissa." What's this change all about? We have no clue... perhaps our expectation of Maxima is premature.

UPDATED 7/16/08: An update, thanks to S.A.M.: A super-powered character named "Melissa" has her eyes on Clark. They kiss and he tries to resist. Originally casting notices for this episode called for "Maxima," a character from the DC Comics universe of characters, but apparently this has been changed... we're assuming for either legal or creative reasons.

UPDATED 7/25/08: It sounds like "Melissa" was indeed just a ploy to throw us off, and the intergalactic Maxima is indeed the one to appear in this episode.
- Justin Hartley (Oliver) and Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome) do not appear in this episode.
- The resurfacing of the "Fever" letter might lead Clark to realize what he's missing out on.

Fantastic! I think PS3 are really going into heavy about this DC stuff...

3 out of the 4 first episodes contain a different and new character, which I think is great. Now I wonder if Maxima(whoever they cast as her) will appear in more than 1 episode.

Yea hopefully it will be more then 1 episode. I would love to see her do atless a few guest spots. Yea i totally agree PS3 seem to be going heavy DC centric season this year. Justice league returning and maybe possible new members(I hope for a gl since we know bats/ww are still offlimits) more lois and clark, clark at the daily planet, more green arrow, villain plastique being featured. Season is sounding really good.

YEa i to hope she turns out to be a good character and episode. Hopefully as i said they cast a good looking actress and that she has good chemistry with tom. Some folks over at ksite brought up the idea what if they dropped her alien origins, man i would hate to see them do that. They dont reallly need to show how she got to earth just make a comment she traveled through a portal or even a ship which we dont really actually have to see. But really i dont see why they wouldnt keep her alien origin since we have had brainiac an alien, the two evil kryptonians as aliens, all the zoners aliens, martian manhunter alien, kara-zorel clone/larel clone all aliens. So hopefully they are not stupid and drop her from being alien.

Man i hope it ends up being maxima would be a sweet character to have appear in the show. Hopefully it ends up being her. We will have to wait and see.

yea alot of people at ksite were thinking that. Or maybe the episode will not be about maxima at all. With no spoilers for the episode so far we have no picture on what could be happening. I am crossing my fingers it will turn out to be maxima and i could deal with her calling herself melissa on earth as a way to fit in and all that.

well if it does truly end up being maxima for the episode i would totally be down with harris as her. I am still crossing my fingers it turns out to be maxima. As i said if it is maxima and they are calling her melissa on earth i can deal with that as long and she has the powers/somewhat same back story for the character and atless refers to herself atless once as maxima queen of ........

Well there we go its not maxima. That kinda sucks she would have been an interesting inclusion for the season. That blows a bit, its probably do to darn legal tie up with dc comics and they were not able to get the rights to actually have her be maxima. Oh well hopefully the episode turns out to be good.

well its looking like it will just be a kryptofreak and/or a metahuman that likes clark like alicia in season 3/4. They probably wanted to do maxima which would have been cool but due to legal tie ups with wb they probably couldnt make it be the character at all. Like how smallville cant have bats or ww in the show.

so... are you gonna keep the #1 post updated with the new info all year? Or is this gonna turn into the mess that all the episode threads took last year(ie. impossible to find any information within the thread)?
