World 90's X-men Animated Series finally being released on DVD!

omg, i I think it has like restored soundtrack or something. On "night of the sentinals part 2", when Cyke and Wolvie are in the poolhall, you can clearly hear an much louder song playing in the background. Also in "deadly reunions", after the x-men fight Magneto and are relaxing, Cyclops has extra dialogue! "mmmm, that's good"(after sipping coffee). I'm pretty sure he didn't say that in any of the reruns of that episode.

Anybody else noticing stuff like this?

They definitely enhanced some sound stuff. But the Cyclops dialogue was originally in the episode. I suspect you may have seen an edited version from TV. Sometimes on the re-runs (Jetix) they'll cut down small stuff like that for time purposes.

soundtrack seems more detailed and the dialogue and music seem to be restored to the original broadcast(in a good way). I also think that they used the original Storm voice version of Season 1.

I'm so glad they got the ones with Storm's original voice. The re-recorded voice was terrible. Does anyone know why they even did that?

So far the sets are great, i watched the first two episodes with my son last night. I'm hoping to get him hooked like I was as a kid...and I hope this indicates that they are planning on releasing the Spiderman animated series.

They said they are releasing the SPidey ones in the UK, so hopefully by Spidey 4, we will see some indication of getting the 90's set. 8-)

And hopefully see Vol. 3 and 4 of X-Men series by the time they plan to release Wolverine on DVD.

My dvd's came today and I am watching them now. SOoo many fond memories of Saturday afternoons

I bought them yesterday...watched the first 3 eps

I love this show so much. I hope Spider-Man is next, and same for Iron Man (which I've only ever seen 5 episodes of :csad:)

I've been watching these, and I have to say, it really brings back memories. God, I love this show.

Hi guys,

I received my volume 1 and 2 dvds a couple of days ago from Amazon. I just have a quick question, did your DVD's come with sleeves? My volume 1 did, but volume 2 didn't. Can anyone else confirm? Thank you!

-edit-
and by sleeve, I mean the cardboard jacket that goes ontop of the DVD case. Thanks again.

First of all Welcome to the Hype, an to answer your question for me at least no I didn't get any plastic covers an I got mine both at Target

Got mine from Walmart and they didn't have any cardboard sleeves.

Mine came from Amazon as well but I didnt get any sleeves

Alright guys, thank you for your reply. Seems that I got lucky with 1 sleeve..though I wish they all had one. They're pretty sweet, shiny and bumpy.

I always love when a movie I buy comes with an unnecessary cover, let alone when its shiny AND bumpy to :oldrazz:

atleast they added a lil extra detail. when they don't is when those slip covers get on my nerves

I forgot how on top of things the animators were. They even managed to show the northern lights glowing in the episode where Wolverine is in Alaska

they have some BAD animation mess ups that are easy to notice on this show... but for each noticeable mess up there are 10 awesome landmarks in animation that go under-rated. one of my favorite under-rated animations, is when they show rogue or storm flying. they drew them flying very smoothly, frame by frame.

also the show had like 3-4 layers of shading. while most shows back then and evne now had only 1 -2

That first season was so great, i forgot all about wolvie going on a search for Morph, and the Storm episode in Africa. I love those type of episodes, where they give each guy a solo shot.

Oh and on the sleeves note, when i bought mine at Best Buy, vol. 1 didn't come with, but vol. 2 did.

Hey this may be a touch off topic but I swear it was this thread where people were talking about how they wished they'd put out season/complete series for Spider-Man and Iron Man as well. I just wanted to say to those people that there is a complete series Region 1 (US and Canada) Iron Man (90's) dvd set. I just got mine from a seller on amazon today. It is also 100% legit. Only one person is selling it (he's got multiple copies apparently, so don't let that 1 copy fool you. It's just saying he's the only one that's selling it. I don't know how many he has though so if you really want it, get on it.)

There's your link (also the first image is not the box, it's the 2nd image that your getting). And so I'm not completely off topic. I was so happy to have "Till Death Do Us Part" on dvd. When Cyclops goes off blasting Sinister to ***** to the X-Men theme, AWESOME!!! Simply AWESOME!!!

They where running out of copies too, hopefully its a sign of these bad boys going quickly from the fans.

Seriously! I know from the Region 2 releases that the DVDs where in the top 5 selling animated DVDs on Amazon while on pre-order. HMV sold out of DVD's online within a week of getting them in stock.

The release of the X-Men movies on Blu ray coinciding with the release of Wolverine has meant they can plug the animated series in the same marketing. I've seen dedicated stands for the X-Men franchise.

Its just like them releasing Batman:TAS vol 1 and 2 with the Dark Knight last year (still no sign of any other volumes coming though!). HMV are all out of X Men: TAS season 1 and all X Men Evolution they have. I really want proper X Men evolution releases, which I can't help thinking will come after the success of these releases. None of that 'X-posing the Truth' crap they released them as before

anyway region 2 DVD art is at amazon
Season 3 volume 1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/X-Men-Seaso...ef=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1241360997&sr=1-2

The release date has been pushed back to 22/6 and HMV still lists Volume 2 as arriving on 15/6 although that will obviously change.

That moment when Cycke just scream at Sinister " LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE!" and then blasts him with an optic beam. ****in badass!

Picked up Volume 2 today, finally. So, now, I have both volume 1 and 2. Just kick ass all around. Any word on when Volume 3 is going to be released?

My guess is volumes 3 an 4 will come out when Wolverine comes out on DVD

^^ Interesting. Also, lol, I'm glad you noticed that I meant 3 instead of 2, lol.
