mothers complain about scary billboards for theme park

Wait a minute...this may be perfectly valid.

What if this started out with the kids complaining? We're talking about a billboard here...a huge structure that's practically in your face while you're driving somewhere. There are kids out there that are probably horrified at this billboard. That's probably what prompted the mothers out there to complain in the first place.

If they're complaining on behalf of their children (who don't really have a voice), then more power to them.

I like the billboard, but I'm not 3 - 5 years old.

Kids deserve to be scared

Ohhhhhhhhh pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!!!!!!11

thats not scary!

Sometimes people just need to keep they're mouths shut!

I am going to be working the Horror Nights at the California Universal Studios again. Last year I spent the whole time getting my face ripped off by Leatherface over and over.

Now that is AWESOME.

:D Freddy's maze was the craziest of them all though :csad: the terror tram sucked balls. So I searched, and it says that pretty much the same thing is happening this year in California...freddy, jason, and leatherface, right? I wanted some change!

It's not gory, graphic, or obscene, I really do not see what the problem is. It's a little creepy looking, but its not like it shows a mangles corpse. Obviously being a mom isn't keeping them busy enough, or they would not have the time to complain about dumb crap like this.

the billboard is cool, and people need to shut the f up and quit whining

I don't think you understand. When your a parent and something bothers your child. You MAKE the time to get down to what's bothering them and what you can do to help them.

That is just it, parents are waaaay to over protective. I totally understand protecting a child from real dangers. Kids get scared easily, and some stupid little billboard is not going to traumatize them for life. The moms could take the time and explain the billboard is fake/pretend and that ghosts are not real. The real world is not a g-rated utopia covered in bubble wrap and sanitizer.

EVerything changes when you're a parent. We all have the mindset of "kids are brats, parents coddle their kids too much, etc." when we're young. But as soon as you have your own offspring, that **** changes big time, trust me.

But you fail to realize what's not scary to you might be scary to a small child between the ages of 1 - 10. Why, when I was a mere tot about 4 or 5 years old, this thing scared the hell out of me, and it's less malevolent looking than Bloody Mary.

I think you should start thinking like a child for once before blasting off like this.

There's a Disney forum that I read that had the banner ads up for the Halloween events at Universal, and they had to tone it down because people complained. Seriously, the adults complained because it was too scary!

However, a ton of people started a new thread after that calling them wimps. I quite agreed with them.

I guess halloween isn't allowed to be scary anymore.

Halloween is about trick-or-treating, and politically correct versions of werewolves, dracula, witches, ghosts, and Frankenstein's Monster (oh, im sorry. frankenstein.)
