A Ghost Rider Animated Movie

Marvel seems to be releasing a slew of animated features lately. I've seen Iron man, which has a good story but lackluster/ lazy animation, and I'm sure you guys all noticed the Dr. Strange animated film that was advertised in recent GR issues. Cool!

Indeed M_S, although, Marvel is trying to get back some rights to their characters.

I mean, they're making the Hulk and Iron Man movies, both of which look great so far. So at least they're trying, seeing where the recent movies are heading, such as Ghost Rider, Elektra, Daredevil, Fantastic Four... Spider-Man 3...

So Marvel is taking a few steps in the right direction.

Now, they just need to work on their animation department and get that going, and they'd be golden.

McFarlane is definitely a great creator, but look at the dreadfulness that is Spawn: The Movie, and I could see why Todd has decided to forget the studios and go about this on his own.

Yup. McFarlane has some good ideas for his next movie. He doesnt want to change Spawn but he will change how he is presented in the movie. He will present him more like he did in the animated series, as a boogie man coming out of the shadows to smite his enemies. It will be intensely story and character driven and Spawn will have plenty of action as well but it will very, very dark. He explains this all in that collectors edition DVD for his HBO series.

BTW, I would not say don't watch Doctor Strange, by all means rent it...just don't be foolish enough to buy it like I did. Its not worth the shiny cover it came in. Frankly, after the movie finished, I didnt even bother looking at the special features, it bored me that much.

I've seen it and I have to say its dissapointing. The animation is cursed like all the other Marvel animated films, they all seem like they fit more in a Saturday morning Cartoon than an animated movie. The CG effects were cheap and some of them were even pixely like out of a 16-bit Nintendo game.

Don't get me wrong, it had some good merits. The sound effects, the voice acting, the unique locales and magic inspired action was sometimes pretty good.

The story and action starts off really cool and then the pace just gets progressively worse as the movie goes forward. The last fight was super dissapointing. I won't spoil it, but don't expect to be amazed by this movie. Watch it for what it's worth..its Doctor Strange...so if you like the character (like I do) go watch it..if you are looking for a good animated movie, keep looking.
