Whoever plays Power Girl needs to have really big knockers.

We'll prolly never see a live action Powergirl anyways officially, though there was an awesome fanfilm with her in it released recently.

Now that the episode has aired, heres a poll whether you want to see a JL series featuring Green Arrow, Cyborg, Impulse and Aquaman.

Personally, I think it would rock if they add a 5th character; Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) since theres always been a close friendship between him and Queen and their adventures have been legendary.

I wouldnt want any more main cast JL members than these 5 so there are be alot of focus on these characters and they can all have good chemistry with each other (like we saw in Justice). It reminded me of the kind of whitty banter we see between the brothers on Supernatural, its pretty funny.

Instead of constant freak of the weeks, alot of episodes could consist of rescue missions, destroying 33.1 facilities, fighting humans with advanced weaponary, fighting rogues from the comics etc

With a series budget, they could probably upgrade the costumes too; giving Impulse the red and white suit from the comics with the goggles;

Cyborg a more armored look with a mask;

A suit closer to the Ross version for Aquaman;

I wouldnt mind if Gough and Millar are the producers, but I'd prefer all new writers for this series (since the tone would be completely different to Smallville).

Thoughts?

I hope that next season on Smallville that they bring in Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) as a new characeter also.

The show idea is an awsome one, and after watching the episode I really can see it being the show that replaces Smallville after it goes off the air.
I say run Smallville 3 more seasons, and build up the JLA characters, and then when Smallville is done bring on "JLA" that would be an awsome idea... Welling could play the Superman character in a few episode here, and there or could be i n the show as a star if he wants.

It was funny to see the Smallville Aquaman talking to Oliver on the show since the actor playing Oliver also played Aquaman. heh but the episode really was well done, and well acted by all.

I hope they spin it off also...

Nah, lets not ruin it ;) Besides SV only has another season left anyway.

I was down with Hal being the new fifth addition to this team for the series because it adds a new prespective to the JLA and allows the origins to be revisited, in order for him to learn about them.

I'm not so crazy about him coincidently showing up in Smallville though. Clark shouldnt meet every DC superhero as a teenager, it would make it pretty cheesy.

I subtracted their pick for Green Arrow (Robert Pattinson from Harry Potter 4) and Lori Lemaris (Hayden Panettiere from Heroes). I love Justin Hartley in the role and I really don't see the need for Lori.

You wanna bet!:woot:

Personally, I think they should have called themselves the Justice SOCIETY, since they got 2 of the original founders (except Bart should should be Jay Garrick).

Actually given the fact that none of the actors are available for a JL series, I've rethought this.

I think the best approach for a JL series is to start fresh like Mercy Reef did. Because of the unavailability of the actors, all the roles will have to be recast anyway. Not only that, but it would work better if the characterizations were different as well (like Ritchson's AC vs Hartley's AC)

This would be my lineup:

150px-Jordan_pacheco.jpg

Hal Jordan [The Green Lantern] Classic characterization, his traditional black/green costume would probably look amazing in live action

Oliver Queen [The Green Arrow] - using a characterization similar to the comics and JLU (an anti-conformist who has to be coerced to join the team). Costume similar to OYL GA with mask and hood.

Orin [Aquaman] - Characterization similar to the badass JLU version, King of Atlantis. Ross costume.

The Question - Instead of Green Arrow stealing Batman's thunder here, the Question could take on the role of the dark detective with a twisted sense of humor.

cowanmugshot.jpg

Bart Allen [Impulse] - Since Kyle G wont be playing him, they could give Bart alot of Wally's humorous traits and change his personality a bit. Give him the Red/White Impulse suit from the comics.

Jonn Jonz [Martian Manhunter] - A semi-recurring character who often remains in their base. He was responsible for forming the League and is their mentor. Comes off like an old sage and gives the team their orders.

Like Heroes, it would be an ensemble cast and would often have characters doing their own thing or in groups. There would only be a few episodes in the season with all of them teamed up for the action (for budget reasons of course).

Not sure a JLA series would be as compelling as SV, but it would be fun to watch. Could have interwoven arcs for each character as well as an overall group arc, to make things more interesting.

What I'd like to see:
* Ollie/GA in charge - not looking for a babe since he still likes Lois
* Cyborg - possibly looking for a new girlfriend since his couldn't hack his mods - see if the writers could find him a super-powered or bionic babe
* Impulse - hitting on teenage-ish girls constantly, of course
* AC/Aquaman - work in whatever would have been on the Aquaman show, which looked pretty cool. Let's see some of his underwater domain!

Add to the team:
* Angel of Vengeance - she can work with them regularly or periodically; already has a cool costume; she's about the only "good" superpowered person who we've met who hasn't died or gotten locked up
* MM - he'd be interacting with them for sure, though not necessarily full-time
* new "Watchtower" - unless Chloe is willing to resign from the DP, she's going to lose her job if she keeps using company time & resources to do everything but write stories. Or keep Chloe in this role as a way of easing her out of SV, as much as I love her there!

Have them run into/work with:
* Pete (!!! we miss him !!!)
* bit characters who've been on SV, when the JLA is in the SV/Metropolis area, to deepen the SV universe
* not-yet-dead FOTWs; they can try to off/battle these before Clark gets to them
* Jimmy - nosy photographer has already been following GA around; no reason he wouldn't turn up again. Could have him run into them by accident, on assignment somewhere.
* Lois - she travels. Have an awkward reunion moment between her & Ollie or AC, with the other of the guys showing up in the middle of that
* Lucy Lane - she ran off somewhere; the JLA could surely try to stop some of her schemes
* a human-biology research vessel called the "Tomorrow" - ref from the new "Children of Men" movie. CofM doesn't take place for another thirty years, but I don't think the movie said exactly when the boat was built... Would be a fun ping
* Helen!!! She's not dead yet... She'd be off traveling the globe somewhere, working as a doctor, planning to get back at/take over from Lex. JLA might be taken in & try to help her initially, then stop when they see what she really has in mind... Unholy alliance!
* Lionel, while he's still alive

Have as guests (besides the above):
* Margot Kidder, in some totally new role
* Jack Larson, Noel Neill - because they'd probably love to
* Jensen Ackles (yes, again) - different role
* other Ashmore twin
* Jessica Alba - just because!
* new guys from SNL, if they'll do it - can't think of their names, but they're the tall funny-looking ones who do the great impressions & short films (laser cats!). Would be hysterical.
* anyone from X-Files who'll come - lots of great character actors there

LOVE IT!:up:
But they probably won't use ANY of those outfits. They'll wind up making the team wear costumes designed by Abrecrombie&Fitch.:whatever:

Depends, if the show had new producers and a different feel to Smallville it could work.

It will obviously be a drastically different show. It isnt a teen soap like Smallville and CW's Supernatural shows that not all CW shows have to be.

I could see Barts comicbook impulse suit made from the same type of leather material as Ollie's costume and looking cool.

Oliver would wear more of a loose fitting costume with hood like OYL Green Arrow, with a mask of course. The man shouldnt need glasses with a computer screen to help him target.

Lantern's costume could be more black than green to look 'cool and modern'. The material could be a thick leather-like material. He would need the classic green mask of course. He wouldnt fly yet in this series but could make the holographic projectiles with his ring (which isnt a complex special effect to create)

Aquaman would wear the Ross suit, its almost like a Knight's chainmale (sp?) and he would be a darker character like the JLU version of course but currently he'd be exiled from Atlantis and is working to redeem himself in the eyes of his people.

The Questions classic costume would work. He could be a horrifying, intimidating yet interesting and funny character if done right.

Martian Manhunter would be have green face prosthetic makeup (similar to the type they use for sci-fi shows) and would only appear in a few episodes in this form (for budget reasons). Other times, he can appear on the surface as a human named Detective John Jones.

Shes a vigilante whos killed a man, she wouldnt be allowed to join the league without standing trial and going to prison first.

Smallville isnt a show for teens. It's highest demo is and has always been males 18-49, and they know it, hence the reason we get episodes like Rosetta, Run, Aqua, Cyborg, Zod, Arrow, Justice, etc.

But it still plays off the typical teen drama/soap storylines and angles. I've seen it been branded as a teen drama thousands and thousands of times, even on the Look Up In the Sky DVD I believe.

Not that it really matters though, I'm just saying a JL series would have to be drastically different. The soap angle (teen or not) just wouldnt work with it.

It should feel more like a high octane 24-like show, where there is a major recurring arc; the JL vs the Govt is a good place to start, espeically in these initial stages where the public isnt aware whether the JL are good or a threat to society.

I think I've got a new best-friend.:up:

that not the worst part as he has on the show shown that he dossent NEED the glasses.. (like the first 2 times we see him with a bow)
the worst part is the goddamn Compound bow.. GA hates those and he only uses them in the time between Grell's run and his death.. aka the bad years (not bad as in bad comics.. but bad as in ollie was far from himself in that time)
ohh yeah and the crossbow! ollie hates crossbows.. and dossent like the fact that speedy(mia) uses one..

Agreed, that too.

The storyline should deal with a government conspiricy as I stated earlier and the League VS the Government in a time where the public is unaware of whether the League is good or a threat to society.

I think the formation of the League by MM should be due to an invasion by the White Martians, who have inflitrated the Govt and replaced key officials (similar to the shapeshifers on DS9). The League could be on a mission to hunt down these shapeshifers before they tear America apart from the inside.
