A Lounge of Two Tacits

I'm right there with ya, Slade. At this point, I think the only thing that could truly get me excited about it again is if they announced a Superman movie with a creative team I actually liked.

Leto's Joker was an embarrassment and anyone that says otherwise is so desperate for DC to have a win, they'll believe anything.

I agree that he was embarrassing, but I don't agree with the bolded. We all like different things. I agree that there are some people that will like anything with a DC or Marvel logo, but I am sure that there are plenty who genuinely like Letoker and want much more of him, and there is nothing wrong with that. Funnily enough, I was very excited about seeing him and thought he, and the movie, looked great in the trailers. Boy was I let down.

Batman did not send him.

If Jon Hamm were cast as Harvey Dent right this second and it wouldn't excite you, you are lying your ass off and deserve the flaying knife.

It really wouldn't, because as much as I loved him on MM, Hamm has been VERY hit-or-miss in movies, imo.

Tom C. still being part of the cast is a problem. Great actor on the show but... WHY does he need to come back multiple times as different characters? Why do we need the same actor to play both J'onn and Henshaw/Cyborg Superman? Why have Barry's dad killed only to bring Shipp back as the "new" Jay?

Is this going to be a new cliche of the Berlanti shows? Recycling actors as well as recycling arcs? I mean... Why watch Flash beyond season one? Once you've seen that you pretty much have seen season two and three it seems.

very hit or miss in movies? other than The Town and The Day the Earth Stood Still.. what else have you seen him in? Cause he is great in The Town.

no one still being a part of the cast is a problem. the writing is the problem, period. I won't put anything on effects either because it's on TV. I'm convinced it's not so much the acting with all 4 shows because all have shown potential.. is the material they are given and the directing they are given.

Arrow - constantly doing that turn and walk away move where he turns to the side and stares and... nothing then turns completely.

supergirl - the constant hands on hip pose.

flash - always the babyface 'try for the feels' character because he pulls off a good sincere sad caring face.

I actually didn't like him in The Town at all. I was really excited to see him in it too because that was like right at the height of my MM love, but his performance totally fell flat with me (actually a few in that movie did). Also saw him in Million Dollar Arm and Friends with Kids. And yes, The Day the Earth Stood Still.

So I just watched Mallrats for the first time. That was...not what I expected.

I dunno, something more raunchy-funny and less...earnest, I guess.

I think Mallrats was Smith trying to show he wasn't just the CLERKS guy, ya'know? And he's had some films with lots of earnestness surrounded by raunch if you thing about it.

Yeah, but with this being one of his first films, from before he went "Hollywood," I expected it to be more trademark!Kevin Smith, I guess. It was enjoyable, though.

Smith is a terrible human being all together:o

I don't hate him. I'm generally indifferent to him (and honestly don't know much about him outside of his movies I've seen), but I did always like how he championed Veronica Mars and I loved Dogma.

he once said BvS was a masterpiece... so there's that.

He says every cbm is a masterpiece. Saying Jon Hamm was bad in The Town is far worse than anything he's said.

Isn't Affleck his BFF? That's hardly surprising. If my friend was Batman, even I could probably convince myself the movie was great. For a while at least, lol.

He also is a big fan of the CW shows.

I will say this... The episodes he has directed stand out in terms of how they are filmed and the performance s he gets out of the cast.

If Berlanti and Guggenheim worked in any other job other than tv, I wouldn't mind working for them. If I get fired they will immediately rehire me.
