The Amazing Spider-Man 2 A message to Sony

Please forget about The Sinister Six and Venom movies for now and focus on The Amazing Spider-Man 3

I don't think lack of focus is the problem like as if they didn't put much focus on TASM2.

They just need a better story and writing crew for their Spider-Man films.

Yeah, something along the lines of Spider-Men.

Sucks stuff like that only happens in comics.

And am I only one who gets a more Ultimate vibe from the Raimi films, and 616 from Webb?

I can see the ultimate vibe from the raimi films since Ben told him about power and responsibility, and MJ was his first love, while the bugle staff didnt play a huge role in the stories, although I'm not getting a 616 vibe from TASM. More like a "superhero movie" vibe, what with spidey accientally ripping someone's shirt off and shoving his crotch in another person's face.

Not happening. At least those movies aren't coming out until after TASM3 though.

If TASM2 under preforms they might. Sure it'll make a crapload of $$$ anyways, but potentially not as much as the MCU films. If Cap 2 beats it, they'll definitely reconsider.

I wish Sony could work out a deal with Disney to allow Spidey to exist in the Avenger-Marvel universe. It's a win-win for both.

I don't understand a lot of the hate I'm seeing towards "ASM2." I thought Max Dillon was poorly underwritten and underdeveloped as a character and Dr. Kafka's scenes should've been eliminated entirely or left on the cutting room floor, but everything else worked, Webb weaved and tied every strand of storylines and characters together, and it all seemed focused to me.

As for this thread, it's easy to bring the Six in. Fiers mentioned that Oscorp has foreign backers who were interested in Oscorp's weapons program. My guess is they are Kraven the Hunter and Chameleon or Dr. Otto Octavius. So they're taken care of.

Donald Menken is still alive and with Harry in Ravencroft, Menken still has clearance in and out of the building so he could actually be Adrian Toomes, and head back down to the Secret Projects Division and don the wings. But I highly doubt he is Toomes just as someone on another forum suggested Kafka is Dr. Octopus. That is the dumbest idea ever. Plus, he was left to die strapped on that gurney being electrocuted again and again and good riddens too... such an incredibly stupid character.

And seeing as they deleted the scenes of Harry and Peter discussing the 'question of the day' and getting close-up glimpses of Oscorp's various projects including Venom, Venom can still be made outside of "ASM3."

To me, the focus should solely be on bringing Norman back and maybe introducing Mysterio or Chameleon into the fray. I want to see everything these two movies have been leading up to which is that Oscorp (Norman) was responsible for Peter's parents deaths and it's time the big company is taken down once and for all.

Also, we need to see Peter finally nab Uncle Ben's killer. Don't make him a supervillain like Sandman in "SM3" but they could have him a part of Shocker's crew or some C-list villain and start the film similar to "ASM2" with having Rhino being an opener and closer villain.

Just my thoughts.

Indeed.

If you want successful franchises, don't start rebooting them when they're still popular enough. It's also an advice for Smurfs, those films were'nt very good, but completelly rebooting won't do you any favors

Keep up the good work!

While I think there's enough there, there for a compelling sequel , I am worried about the next one do to all this studio driven meddling. I do worry that the next film will be Spiderman 3 since Sony is content on rushing and halfa**ing these villains and plotlines. Its clear to me Marc Webb had a very personal , quiet story with ASM2 which was drowned out by Sony's need to copy Marvel Disney's world building.

Glad they rebooted to me honest.

And even though you clearly dislike the new movies I personally love them.
ASM2 is my favorite CBM of all time.

If you are talking purely from a money bottom line stance then they probably would have been better off making SM4.

I don't hate them, i quite enjoy them, and Gwen was a much better character than Mary Jane. I still prefer the old movies, but my point was moneywise, i think this move alienated a lot of people and interest.

I wont try and argue the point because the non comic book people I know thought the reboot was pointless.

I really have a tiny problem with this spidey films
I dislike how almost every villain in spiderman has to do something with peter parker persona its like almost every plot is forced into making these characters against spiderman and the story revolves around just few blocks with thin plots .
imo the story should have wider scope to villain like ones we see in batman , ironman , thor and Cap movies making matter more difficult and tests spideys limit grounding him with the term SUPERHERO .

The villains in Thor, Batman, and Cap are as connected to their respective protagonists as they are in the Spider-Man series.

Cap: Red Skull was the first test subject of Cap's father like figure; Red Skull ordered death of said father figure.
Cap 2: Cap's Boss.
Thor: Thor's brother.
Thor: TDW: This might be the exception to the rule, but, the stakes were dramatically elevated when Malekith killed Thor's mother. If anything, it's a half point for this one.
Iron Man 1: Tony's father like figure.
Iron Man 2: Tony's industrial rival & father's former business associated.
Iron Man 3: The guy Tony left waiting on a rooftop.

I agree the points above
and as i quoted before " imo the story should have wider scope to villain like ones we see in batman , ironman , thor and Cap movies making matter more difficult and tests spideys limit grounding him with the term SUPERHERO " cause these villains had much sinister plots and their activities were global threat unlike spidey villains who are mostly threat to spidey and his close ones
I want spiderman to be introduced to wider threats like the ones we see in MCU .
