A Michael Jordan Movie...

he means a jordan movie would have a very anticlimactic ending, no matter what part of his life they went with.

they could end it with his last championship...but yea, good point. its straight success for him, and nothing sticks out more than the rest

Yep. Thanks for clarifying Excel

Exactly. There is no climax or notable high point. There is no defeat of Forman. There is no calling a hit in Game 3. Basketball by nature isn't nearly as cinematic or dramatic as certain other sports. Jordan's career, while amazing isn't nearly as cinematic or dramatic as other professional athletes. That is why his movie would pale in comparrison.

i can think of a very climactic point in jordans careed, everyone knows the fade away shot to win the championship, but its in the MIDDLE of his career, so it couldnt be the 'big finish'....damn you MJ.

Yea I have to agree that a Muhammad Ali movie made a way better movie than a Jordan film would at this stage in MJ's life...But I disagree that basketball especially in Jordans era wasnt dramatic, the winning shot against the Jazz (shouldve been his last), the death of his father in a car accident, his gambling problem...

trying to play baseball...hahaha :)

The gambling thing wasn't a big deal. Not nearly as big of one as the media conveyed it to be. Jordan was making more than enough to cover it, so it never destroyed him or anything. Besides, its not like he pulled a Pete Rose. He liked to bet on his golf games. Not a big deal. The shot against the Jazz, which was great, yes...but it wasn't the end, therefore it wasn't climactic, it was just another shot. And wasn't his father murdered? None the less, it would be all of 15 minutes on film.

It's not about that. And those dramatic biopics that do the obligatory triumph over illness or some crap are cliche garbage. It's about the impact he had on the game and on that kid with dreams of one day flying like jordan.

Oh god, wait a minute...

But well, if it's done seriously with 90s music it'll be very good.

Good grief man, it's about going after your goals and acheiving greatness. is that not enough?

*Shrug* Jordan's story is great and always will be. I just don't think it lends itself to anything more than an ESPN documentary. Not a theatrical film.

this is frustrating. I curled up in my bed and prayed to God that Jordan would win the olympics. And he did. If that's not worth a movie, nothing is.

I think you'd prefer it if he weren't alive. heh... I admit it's more dramatic after the legend has left us.

Yes, it was impressive. Yes, it was inspiring. But what you are describing is a movie about Jordan's fans. Not Jordan.

That could be another thing. Jordan is still young, and healthy. Its sort of hard to turn a man into a God when they are still with us or even just in good health.

he is a legend. the best basketball player thats ever lived...so far.... if theres a theatrical movie about him, done Ali style, i guarantee im there as long as many, many others. his retirement from basketball, 2nd time, could be climactic in its own right, very emotional...but i feel the fireworks will be the championships as #23...this movie could definately be done, and be great.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, walk off a cliff.

Though I must say it'd be fascinating to see how a full lifespan biopic would be like. What if jordan comes back to coach or something like that and wins more rings. That'd truly redeem his legacy after the wizard misstep.

lets wait another 20 years.
maybe he will find a cure for cancer, maybe he will be a big guy for charity and then maybe some fanatic will kill him.

in the next 20 years maybe he will have a more tragic story.

Dealing with his fathers death, retiring, the 1st comeback...

oops sorry for taking ur idea bud...do i get in trouble now? I like the get a talented actor and make him look bigger idea better anyway, cuz most of these athletes just dont look comfortable in front of the camera...BTW, what did u think of Ray Allen in that movie?

He was decent. Then again it's kind of like asking Eminem to play a rap artist in a movie.
