Infinity War A4: Who gets the screentime?

But Cap has always been that, and he has always had big roles in the comics. This is because yes...Cap cannot punch Thanos into submission. But, Cap has a tactical mind and can organize/rally people.

I see Cap's role in Avengers 4 largely being about embracing the symbol that he is again, rally the troops, and lead them into the final battle with Thanos. Cap doesn't need to be punchy to be useful.

But in a movie like this, it's what will be most remembered and stick out. I haven't watched The Winter Soldier in a while, but the scene that I remember the most was him against all those men in the elevator. I want that Captain America back, kicking ass and being a boss while at the same time, having this unique honor about him.

I am sure Cap will stand up to him and stuff and have a tough guy moment. But, he doesn't need to in order to have a strong presence in the film. Plenty of memorable and awesome characters find ways (even up against opponents out of their class), so I am sure he will too. He's been doing it in the pages of The Avengers for like 60 years.

I know, it's why I think those heroes were handled the way they were, that way the film makers can now come back and focus on the original Avengers, and they probably kept a certain GOTG character around because they liked the chemistry he had with Thor, and they also probably kept certain members of BP on since they were audience favorites.

Also look at this quote from one of the writers of IW/A4:

This tells me he will have a key role.

I hope so. Captain America is my favorite, probably because he's the only Avenger to want to be a hero because he was always good hearted the whole time, while the rest became heroes after bad things happened to them first.

I think going in we all knew it would either be

IWs the new heroes get the screen time and established, originals take back seat until A4.

or

IWs originals get screen time and sacrifice/ die, the new heroes avenge in the next one.

We have seen him interact with the first, then the second in Ragnarok, but not yet with the latter 2 so that means there's going to be some interesting stuff outside of the OG group.

I seriously doubt they would not use the Soul World as a secondary plot. I can't see them having so many popular characters absent till the last 5 minutes.

That's penalizing to me, in what will be a 2 hour and 40 plus minute films why can't all 4 of the main Avengers have fairly similar levels of screentime.

As I said before I'd trade a little less screetime for Thor in A4 than in IW, if he stills gets to be an important part of the story and has awesome action.

Again, I am ignoring Iron Man because he will always be an exception, but I get you're a Thor fan, but I would say look at it more objectively: 1 - It's not like Thor will get no screen time in Avengers 4. I doubt he is a minor player. 2 - if they didn't balance it that way, then guys like Cap who had barely any screen time would just feel unimportant when you put the films back to back. 3 - if you cut Thor's time in IW to compensate, maybe he comes off less cool in the grand scheme.

Hi, could you please elaborate more on this, your source, etc. I don't quite understand what you're saying Cumberbatch said. Are you saying that he filmed extensive scenes with these 4?

^And, if an enhanced raccoon can be seen joining cosmic forces and kicking ass, why not Steve Rogers who is enhanced. I'm open for him to join he galactic battle with the big 3, and then Black Widow can join Hawkeye, Ant-Man and whoever is left in Wakanda to keep Earth from collapsing into chaos.
