Age of Ultron Aaron Johnson is Quicksilver

I wonder what Joss thinks of QS in DOFP.

i hope he ignores that version, tbh. i'm one of the few that don't like the special effect used for Dofp Quicksilver's speed. i found it boring. i prefer the wild blur effect. what they did in DOFP would only work for one or two scenes (and suck the fun out of any group fighting shot).

Are they actually using the Quicksilver name in AoU?

Because if they're not I doubt the public would even relate the two that much.

He was not called QS in DOFP. He was only referred to as Peter, and on the mailbox of his house it said Maximoff.

I assume AoU will use the QS and Scarlet witch name as all the other Avengers retained their superhero names.

He will be referred to as Pietro Maximoff, and not Peter.

In all the promo material though he was referred to as Quicksilver.

That's kind of how it is for a lot of superhero characters actually, the name in the film is used pretty sparingly but it's the related promo material where it's splashed all over.

I just wasn't sure whether marvel studios had the right to use his name in the same manner to promote AoU?

^^ Those two pictures crack me up. DOFP QS seems more comedic. If that was the point, it worked.

Quicksilver in DOFP was alright, I'm pretty sure QS in Avengers will get more screentime.

I hope his speed isn't as extreme as it was in DOFP, that just feels way too cartoonish and it's so OP I can't see how you can script that without him just smashing everything with his speed.
Really needs to be toned down to something sort of quickish. Maybe about what Man of Steel did with Faora.

Joss should just do his own take on QS and forget all these other influences. Thats how itll stand out.

After seeing Godzilla I hope not.:woot: Joking aside I was impressed with QS in DoFP so Johnson has a lot to live up to. I enjoyed his first Kick Ass outing. Not so much his second outing in KA or Godzilla. It has shown him to be a very limited actor. But I'm sure JW will get the best out of him.

Pietro in the books is a bit of a d-ck so I hope that translates onscreen. Probably won't make him too likeable but he definetly shouldn't be more of the humorous take we saw in Xmen. His speed makes him arrogant and condescending and going that route is a clear way for Joss to differentiate the two at least personality wise

I really wouldnt want a goofy QS in AOU, thats not what The Avengers need. They need more badass characters that have some humor but not in an over the top way.

The team itself is already made up of a bunch of ***** sans maybe Cap.

Same here, we already saw that in DOFP I wanna see him fight Ultron or at least try to :woot:

I didnt think Black Widow, Hawkeye, Banner and Thor were. I think really only that would apply to Tony but he had a certain charm about him which made him likeable while still being arrogant.

I would hardly call him limited just based on those two films. Both are considered massively bad on the character development side and give their actors very little to work with, so there's only so much he could have done with what he had.

I find it incredibly ironic that Aaron Johnson & Evan Peters are both portraying Quicksilver when, in the past, they both were in Kick-Ass together. That's awesome.

And I can't express how excited I am with this casting decision. A few months before it was announced I kept thinking "this guy just HAS to get cast in a real superhero movie" and then it happened.

I think this is the perfect character for him, & I predict that this will be what puts Mr. Johnson on the map completely.

Quicksilver in DOFP personality is more like his nephew speeds in the movie. I'm sure Quicksilver will be portrayed very differently in AOU. For one Aaron's Quicksilver will have a eastern European accent and be the over protective brother he is in the comics which is very different to the Quicksilver we saw in X-Men.

Think theyll call him Quicksilver in the movie? would be cool if Joss thought of a way to give him that name.

I can imagine Stark saying something like "You're quick, Silver" as a kind of nod to the name

They pretty much got around the codename thing plausibly for the most part. Iron Man is the name of the armors, Black Widow is Natasha's spy handle, and "The Hawk" is maybe a nickname for Clint. Someone will refer to Wanda as a witch obviously, don't know how QS will get his.

If the rumors about Marvel not having the rights to their codenames is true, hopefully they can at least promote them as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Just like Fox did.

They already have in interviews, so they should be fine.
