Then I am glad to know that the part of the fandom that doesn't want to see this happen again will be heard for Season 6 and we can continue to switch off every other season.

Great ep, lots of Regina, loved it! Poor Zelena, she loves her baby. Merida was great!

And next one is Regina centric, cant wait!!! :woot:

I didn't personally have any issue with the storytelling decisions that were made in Seasons 2 and 4, but others did, and the fact that we've twice gone back to the same kind of storytelling formula that dominated the series' first season following a season that deviated from said formula in some respects suggests that the showrunners are going to keep returning to the Season1/3 formula often in order to accommodate the portion of the fandom that believes it is at its best when it follows said formula, even if doing so risks alienating a smaller part of the fandom that would rather they NOT keep going back to said storytelling formula.

Well we can have another roundabout in Season 7 if they do this again.

................................ sure.

So...from what I'm reading, no one liked the season premiere except a few people and Milos?

^ My impression is that Primal and the others who've criticized the decision to go back to the tried-and-true Season 1 model of storytelling (again) are in the minority.

I enjoyed it. The harped on thing did get a bit of an eye roll out of me, but it was a solid episode.

Poor Zelena, she loves her baby.

The episode itself was ok, the ending is what I have a problem with.

She's related to Regina, of course he'll feel sorry for her.

Zelena is my favorite after Regina, of course! :ilv:

I'm not as obsessive about it as Milos, but I really like Zelena and have grown to really like Regina (proving that the writers were able to successfully salvage the character after very nearly ruining her in late Season 1 with the episode The Stable Boy).

Everything was fine until the timeskip and surprise, surprise.... memory wiped. Still don't like the dark Emma look.

More Merida
the dagger is part of excalibur
..HOW COOL IS THAT, DIDNT SEE THAT COMING

Hmm...You know I have not been easy on this show and its "formula" but I actually liked last nights episode. It's nice to see that Regina has gone too far good to be considered evil anymore. Also the Merida bits were good as well can't wait to see the boys and the mother. The rose was a very nice addition to the saga of Belle and her "beast" Rumple as you already know that it will begin to wilt and by the end of the first half of this season their true love will save everyone I bet. As for the ending I was suprised that they ended up back in Storybrook but I loved that they have failed with Emma. Speaking of Emma she's the dark one so they should have given her the appropriate ugly make up or at least make her even more pale with strong facial glitter.

^ Emma does have the glitterscale look, but it's a much more subtle application than we've seen in the past.

That's why I said make it "even more" in terms of how pronounced it is. She should have been ghost white with twice as much glitter in order for it to really show.

Fantastic episode. I liked Emma's struggle with the darkness.

The dagger and its origin I can't wait to find out more.

The ending with sneezy in Emma's coat and hat and with what Emma did was funny.
You don't wear someone else's jacket when they are the dark one XD

I personally would've liked a heavier glitterscale makeup application, but what they went with does work well, and is ultimately going to make it easier for J-Mo to play the role from a purely practical standpoint.

Loved last night's episode until the time jump/memory wipe retread. I'm still on board but, ugggghhhhh

I guess last night was the last we saw of Rumple Dark One unless we get the occasional glimpse of him in Emma's subconscious mind. However maybe Gold will end up becoming Dark Rumple again before the Dark One is abolished for good.

I hope we see Dark Swan become more cynical and dark as the season goes on.

Ratings are in:
Opening ABC’s night, Once Upon a Time (5.9 mil/1.8, average grade “A-“) plunged 38 and 49 percent from its previous premiere but matched its May finale.

^ Same, I really loved the Dark Swan intro. Jen's performance is awesome. Seeing how protective Killian is for her is amazing. And Regina could finally get her redemption based on the 5x02 promo. Merida was fantastic. I was mesmerized by the actress playing her.

One thing I didn't care for the the fan-themed special with all the vloggers/toddlers talking about the show. I think the producers could have done what they always do with those specials. A retelling of the plot mixed in with the actors/actresses/creators talking more about the themes of the show then delve into season 5A story lines. Just wasn't a need to see that. There was very little air time for the scenes and the actor's thoughts and feelings behind them. The fan questions kinda felt like comic con part two.

I'd like to think of it as a OUAT reboot. :D

Nope. It's been confirmed that we will see the Darkness physically manifest itself as Rumple more as we get to see her struggle more and more before she succumbs in the six weeks between when the group walks into Camelot and when they crash-land back in Storybrooke with everyone other than Emma's memories of that six-week period erased.
