Rob Carlyle is absolutely brilliant. I've gotta check out his other work, this is the first I've seen of him.

So do you think the way to break the Queens curse is for her to find true love? Wait a minute! Emma is there to help break the curse. Hmmm. :o

They all have to fall in love with Emma. Duh. :o

:awesome:

Probably the best episode of the season thus far, no surprise that when I looked to see who wrote it, it was Jane Espenson from Buffy.

I really loved the twist on the Beauty/Beast story and loved that Belle is still alive in Storybrooke. I also grinned like a little kid when the mentioned the mermaid when talking to Rumple.

Yep.

And according to her twitter, Buffy's scythe was in Rumpel's collection, but I didn't see it.

Excellent episode Belle [BLACKOUT]being alive in Storybrook means she never died in the fairytell world[/BLACKOUT]. Also the Mr. Gold and Regina interaction was great so gald the writers decided to have them acknowledge [BLACKOUT]each other as their fairytell counter parts[/BLACKOUT], since all Gold has to do is say please and Regina must do whatever he says I wonder how shes gonna use Belle to her advantage Rumple really does have all the power.

Looking at history I can almost guarantee Rumple will play Ursula's role which is sad as I want other villians!

You should check out his movies Trainspotting, Ravenous, 51st State and 28 Weeks Later.

Robert Carlye's Rumple is like the evil wizard he played in the movie Eragon if that character was better written.

I find it funny that, out of the two characters that know who they are, only Rumpel/Mr. Gold shows a distinction between his Fairy Tale World and Storybrooke personas, whereas Regina and the Evil Queen are pretty much the same exact person.

I guess thats what happens when you are turned back to normal and lose all your power. Rumple isnt consumed with the powers in SB anymore.

I thought Robert was good as one of the bad guys in The World is Not Enough ;).

I saw this idea on another forum as to who the mysterious guy is. He could be a grown up Henry. That would explain how he knew where the book is & he never had to follow Emma & Henry. Because he is Henry

That would be creepy because I kind of sense a sexual tension vibe between the both of them when he sort of asked her out.

What a *****e! He even wrote "love Catherine" or whatever his wife's name is. lol

Regina forcing Mr. Gold to say his real name was awesome. I like the theory of the stranger being a grown up Charlie. I was thinking of the stranger as being a God-like character that wrote all the stories. Given that he is a writer.

Who is Charlie?

Emma has to kiss everyone to break the curse. Especially Regina.

My theory is that The Stranger...
is from the Fairy Tale world, but not part of the group that the Queen cursed. As some have pointed out, the fairy tale world most likely has far too many people/creatures to fit into a small Maine town. I think, for the most part, the curse was isolated to the Enchanted Forest and there is still a whole world wondering where the **** these people/location disappeared to, and the Stranger is part of a search party.

I would love that.

Another IMDB theory is that he is
Rumple's son all grown up..

I knew that's what that was just painted gold.
I don't think he'll take the Ursula role, it doesn't seem like he was interested in that, and the Queen mentioned it, so he might think it's a trap for him.

I think that one would take a bit of explaining, since Espenson (the writer of this past episode) has said [blackout]that "Desperate Souls" took place centuries before Rumpel and Belle met[/blackout].

I think the Queen will take Ursula's role and Rumple just gives her a spell.

Eh. I could go either way on this one. The wiki page on the original tale just refers to the villain as a sea witch. She kind of fits the part, even if she's been mostly land-based.

However, if they were to bring in Ursula, I definitely wouldn't complain. More villains would certainly be nice.

If this show wasnt using Disney names and characters I would be somewhat fine with them changing things. But dont use Bell, Ariel, Malenficient, etc.. if you plan on replacing big characters with Regina or Rumple. And if they get to the point of replacing Ursula with Regina or Rumple then I might as well just stop watching so i dont have to worry about complaining about everything that they keep on changing to the extreme.

Fables condensed 3 princes into 1 which is fine by me since they werent using disney anything and it didnt have an effect on the story.

The way I see it is: If it works, go for it. As far as I'm concerned, using Rumple as Beast worked like crazy, and in large part because they actually added to Rumple's character and clearly are setting storylines in motion by doing the story that way. If they use Regina in Ursula's place and it ends up being the same old **** with the character, and that's more than likely exactly how it would play out with her, then yeah I'd rather they just do Ursula.

Sorry, I meant Henry. lol My daughter was watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I typed Charlie instead of Henry.
