what do you all think about it in this movie? for me, it was actually interesting to see OP do his lines without his faceplate on. it made him more expressive. :word: well, to longtime OP fans, that could be understandably disconcerting as they've never seen prime with no faceplate. just curious at what you guys thought of that.

I didn't mind Optimus not having the faceplace up most of the movie, but I would've prefered the opposite route.

I didn't like the idea at first, but it didn't really bother me while watching the movie.

Not only with Prime, but with Bumblebee. I admit, I liked Bumblebee better without the face plate on because you can see the emotion in his eyes. That gives each one of them individual human-like characteristics, you know?

I didn't mind it. It would have been cooler if he had it on the entire time, but like someone previously posted it helped express more emotion.

i actually really liked it. i couldn't imagine Prime talking with a faceplate on the entire time anymore. if he kept his faceplate up the whole movie it would've been kinda corny to me.

my only complaint is that we didn't see ENOUGH of the faceplate. we barely saw Prime's face when he was fighting.

It didn't bothered me at first, but it's one of those 'whatever' things now; kinda like with Spiderman not have mechanical webshooters.......

In a world where the masked Darth Vader is one of the most engaging villains in film history, there is absolutely no decent reason for an Optimus with lips...other than change for the sake of change.

I agree. But still I would have preferred just a little more faceplate.

It didn't bug me at all, I actually liked it, but when he fights it should be on.

This sums up my feelings on the matter perfectly.

is there ever anyone here who was shocked at seeing prime's faceplate down? :cwink: i bet there must be some of you who didn't know about it beforehand.

I liked it! It made it more "realistic-ish" with the expressions

Well I was surprised by how organic their faces looked. But the no faceplate Prime surprisingly didn't bother me. However he always will look far better with it on.

Thats how i felt. It not being didn't hurt, but having was freaking awesome.

He didn't need a mouth. It was an unnecessary addition that should have gone toward BB instead.

I agree with papakeelo but who didnt see that comming?

i liked that when he talked with the faceplate on that it moved a little.

I think he looked great with and without it.Without it it allowed the animators to show a lot more expression and detail, all those tiny metal plates moving with every single word, just awesome. But he looked badass when the faceplate slid to place so he could kick decepticon but. When he arrives to Mission City, transforms and the faceplate come up... best transformation in the movie.I mean, they all looked awesome but, hey, its Prime facing Megatron, its just epic stuff.

my feelings exactly. how i wish they could have this for prime in the toons, giving him more range.

Hated the idea at first. But I was very pleasantly surprised that they could make it work. Love the greater emotive range the lips gave.

i also love the sound whenever prime's faceplate slides on or off. :cwink:

^I agree, it is awesome, and it looks great when his faceplate comes back on as well.

it wasn't a big deal, but prime looked so bad ass when he had his faceplate on. i wish they used it a little more.
