About the lack of the trditional Phoenix effect... one more thing

If any of you have the soundtrack, listen to 'Dark Phoenix's Tragedy' and around the 2:05 mark (I think it's when Jean stands up out of her chair and starts to lift Xavier out of his), just imagine what the real Phoenix effect would have looked like. In tandem with this music. It would have blown people's minds completely - Jean standing up, facing Xavier, and then spreading her arms and having the effect appear behind her, obliterating the front of the house.

Just listen to the track and you'll see what I'm getting at. The music in this scene is astounding!

My God ...the wasted potential... it almost hurts.

I don't think that they should have used fire as much as raw energy maybe if when she's making out with cyke she could steal his optic blast energy and we could see the energy forming about her.

You really have to hear this... it's incredible when you picture it with the firebird... it would have been a talked about moment for months... probably years to come!

It wasn't even potential. It was already there. Singer set it up at the end of X2 with Jean being surrounded by flame and fire in her eyes as she sacrificed herself. It was right there for their taking, and for some reason, they changed the way her powers appear completely.

And I hope no one brings up money. Does anyone realistically think that the fire effects were so much more expensive and time consuming than the black vein effects that they weren't worth using here, continuity be damned? Doubtful.
