The Absolute Universe (AU) is an imprint of American comic books overseen by Scott Snyder and published by DC Comics. The comics take place in a shared universe designated Earth-Alpha as part of the DC Comics Multiverse, featuring reimagined and modernized versions of the company's superhero characters from the DC Universe.

The imprint is part of the DC All In initiative, debuting in the aftermath of the 2024 Absolute Power crossover event. It was launched that year with the publication of the ongoing series Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Superman.

Prelude:
DC All-In Special

On going series:

Absolute Batman

This version of Batman doesn’t have the riches or resources we usually associate with the character. He’s a construction worker in his 20s – far removed from the rich playboy/executive we’re used to. Another difference is that this Batman will be an “agent of chaos”, juxtaposing the very organised and prepared interpretation.

Absolute Wonder Woman

The Absolute Universe version of Wonder Woman is an Amazonian warrior (apparently the last one) but she doesn’t come from Paradise Island. Instead, she was raised in the Underworld. As a result, she doesn’t have the sisterhood that shapes the mainstream version of the character, nor the mission of peace.

Absolute Superman

The Absolute Universe version of the character won’t have family, a Fortress of Solitude, or a home to guide him? Jason Aaron is the first Superman writer to be from Kansas, the state where Superman crash lands to Earth as a baby. The writer will use his lived experience to delve into Superman’s experiences. It means that we might not see Superman in Metropolis, at least not initially.

Batman was ok - Making hum HUGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEE seems a bit much and I would've liked to see him at least get hit once in #1 vs easily taking everyone out easily. But its Batman...

WW I loved (shocker) - Great twist to her growing up. Having Circe as her surrogate mother was a great idea. She struggles. I think the only thing I side eyed a littel was how bland "Hell" looked. But I know its only the beginning of the flashbacks.

Superman - interested to see how it goes. Seems interesting thus far.

I enjoyed Absolute Batman a helluva lot more than I thought I was going to (note: I went it expecting to hate it). But Snyder has a tendency to turn me off rather quickly so we'll see how it goes.

I finally read my copy of Absolute Wonder Woman and just loved it. Staying true to the immediate roots of the character, while steering left of but not away from Greek mythology and avoiding the US Military entirely (so far) made me realize that much of the direction the Wonder Woman has taken since Perez just seems kinda lazy, obvious or flat out wrong at any one time. But yes, I loved the book and I hate DC for making me add more books to my pull list.

Everything I've read from Jason Aaron has me convinced that I will love Absolute Superman. And then there's Absolute Martian Manhunter, Absolute Flash, and Absolute Green Lantern. This line is shaping up. Hopefully the quality maintains itself.

I’m waiting for these to hit Infinite. Then I’ll give them a first read before deciding whether I want to purchase physical copies.

When does Absolute Superman come out? This week?

I just read Absolute Batman #1 last night, and it was so thrilling! It's an alternative storyline, and I have high hopes for the next issues.

Also, I thought it was funny how Alfred is kind of a spy/agent.

Now I'm just waiting for my copy of Absolute Wonder Woman!

I just read Absolute Wonder Woman and for me is a 10/10. I'm really enjoying this new universe. My comic store already let me know they have Absolute Superman ready for pick-up, but I won’t be able to get my hands on it until next Monday...

I IMMENSELY enjoyed Absolute Superman. I don't wanna go into spoilers, but I got some very serious Hawkworld vibes from it. If you've not read the 3-issue Timothy Truman series from the 80s, please do so. I think Absolute Superman may be the best of the three titles right now. Very impressed.

I really need to collect my issue but Monday is still so far away..

Do you mean these ones?

I have my issue sitting in my nerd cave. I'm hoping to get around to reading it tomorrow! I've heard good things.

Just finished Absolute Superman #1 great start for Superman in this Absolute universe. The visuals of Krypton, as well as the structure of its society was interesting. Also the little bit information we get about his suit is cool too.

DC is cooking with this Absolute line, imo. Hopefully they can keep it up.

I just read Absolute Batman #1 on Infinite. I’m surprised at how much I liked it. I’m a sucker for continuity and I tend to dismiss elseworlds stories off the bat, unless the story proves me wrong. This one did.

Lets be honest....DC is afraid of how the other 3 will sell and if they're a success then...EXPANSION ALL THE WAY.

Not for nothing, but the Absolute line has been pretty damn great. It's only Absolute Batman that has taken a swift dive. Issue 4 should have been the entire arc. But Wonder Woman is amazing.

Absolute Batman has been up and down for me. I’ve loved Absolute Wonder Woman so far.

I know that I’m in the minority, but I’m not dying to see a big Absolute Universe. I doubt that I’d read very much of it.
