Adam McKay to take on Dick Cheney in “Vice” (Bale, Adams, Rockwell)

I have no idea how this happened by this thing cost 60 mil

btw it's the finest script of the year so far.May be even more slick than TBS

we may not like it but Cheney is what we needed at that time I think everyone can agree a whole lot of people were wrong on the Iraq war but politics aside wow at Rockwell that guy can go and playing opposite of Bale
were are in for a treat no idea Carrel was in this can't wait
No. I think whether YOU like it or not there are many who clearly don't think Cheney was at all what we needed nor were the policies he pursued either and especially the politics of trying to paint anyone not on board with his and the Bush administration agenda as unpatriotic.

I don't think Dick Cheney was needed at that time, or anytime in America.

Probably gonna see this after the holiday. Been hearing it's ****ing hilarious.

I read the screenplay on Go Into The Story. I was into it.

Just seeing how Bale plays the heart attack bits in one of the ads has me itching to see his performance.

^ Yeah, I downloaded that a couple of days ago but I'm holding out on reading until I see the movie.

Now that the film's out, hoping to see it at the end of this week.

Saw it yesterday and I thought it was great. It definitely doesn't portray Dick Cheney in a positive light, but there are some human moments with his family that was interesting. The cast was great and Bale does an amazing job playing Dick Cheney. I wasn't a big fan of The Big Short, but Adam McKay does a much better job using that comedic 4th wall breaking style here.

Also stick around for the credits there's a funny bit they do that's worth seeing.

Saw the movie today (and read the script right after). Fascinating to see the "inner workings" to such a degree, the way this relatively small set of people influenced the whole world over the course of decades. I haven't (yet) seen The Big Short, just bits and pieces, so this style of McKay was very new to me. Loved how ballsy a lot of those choices were, very different to other biodramas I can think of. Bale, Carell and everyone else were as great as expected.

Yeah that was such a deep nerd cut that I'm sure 98% of people watching Vice wont get it.

McKay knows his ****. Hence why he needs to do more in the MCU.

I thought this was one of the best movies of 2018. It was like a sister movie to The Big Short, which is my favorite Adam McKay film. Bale is great in this movie. Seriously, he just was Dick Cheney. I think the movie gave Cheney some humanity, but the film overall is not flattering to the man. I am going to leave my personal feelings for Cheney aside, but I love that McKay in this and The Big Short explains the bigger concepts in great detail. Overall, much like The Big Short, fantastic film, but one that you don't leave the theater entirely happy or in a good mood. But that is the desired effect.

McKay I think is one of my favorite directors at the moment.

Finally got around to seeing this and loved it. Bale was extraordinary in it. Rockwell and Adams were all really great. There are long stretches during the movie where I honestly forgot it was Bale. He disappeared into the role for me (unlike Oldman as Churchill, which I thought was a grossly overrated performance). It was so great to see Bale let loose as a villainous character again. I haven't seen Green Book or At Eternity's Gate yet, but I really want Bale to win over Cooper and Malek.

And those human moments are perfectly deployed to make his last inhuman act of the film sting even more.
