Remember AeternoBlade, the Nintendo 3DS side-scroller that found inspiration in Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Castlevania? It’s nearly finished.

AeternoBlade is a side-scrolling action game that allows you to rewind time. If you screw up, you can reverse events in realtime, and them do them over again. This feature is demonstrated in a trailer for the game that was released last month, which you can view above. In addition to its time-reversal mechanic, AeternoBlade also includes a combo-customization system.

AeternoBlade will be available on January 14th, 2014 in both North America and Europe. Prior to that, Europe will see a demo of the game on December 12th, 2013. In Japan, AeternoBlade will be published by Arc System Works under the title Time Avenger.

I don't think this is that new ip that one of the heads of Nintendo said they were working on. But it's cool never the less, to see some new ip. it's just a shame again it's not for the Wii U as well. Hope it does well.

AeternoBlade II, previously announced for 3DS and PS Vita, is now a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch title, developer Corecell Technology announced.

In an e-mail update, Corecell said that the team of artists working on AeternoBlade II resigned a month ago, so the game has to be reworked for a new art direction. In order to make it “a quality game for our fans,” Corecell plans to launch an Indiegogo campaign to fund the game’s development.

A launch date for the IndieGoGo campaign was not announced.

AeternoBlade is coming to Switch on February 1, developer Corecell Technology announced.

The side-scrolling action adventure game first launched for 3DS in February 2014, followed by PS Vita in February 2015, PlayStation 4 in August 2015, and Xbox One in August 2017.
Here is an overview of the game, via Corecell Technology:
In the region of Awelsia, vengeful Freyja travels with an unknown weapon called “AeternoBlade.” Freyja looks to take revenge on Beladim, the Lord of the Mist who destroyed her village, Ridgerode, and killed her tribe. Her vengeance is helped by Vernia, who has as much merit as Beladim. Vernia taught Freya about the abilities of AeternoBlade. Freya has to venture into many different world dimensions to discover how to annihilate Beladim.
What is AeternoBlade? How can Freya take revenge on Beladim? Solve tons of mysteries in her adventure together!
An Indiegogo campaign for a sequel, AeternoBlade II, was launched in May 2017, but failed to meet its $30,000 funding goal. In an August 2017 update, Corecell Technology said it will continue to look for a way to complete AeternoBlade II, such as by releasing the original game on Xbox One later that month.

In today’s announcement for AeternoBlade on Switch, Corecell Technology included the following GIF of the sequel:
