The forest wasn't real. It was just a physical manifestation of Deke's fears that came from Fear Dimension.

I don't know, they were just agents who stayed with S.H.I.E.L.D. instead of jumping ship like Agent 13 to the CIA. Agent Davis, the one with a scar, having an identifiable difference, was flying the Zephyr around while Daisy and Simmons were in the Framework. I would guess we will see him again.

Agent Piper was a little different because the actress, Briana Venskus, played a similar role on Supergirl (Agent Vazquez) and she was Agent May's number 2 under the Director Mace reorganization of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But you realize this officially means that Coulson is going to eat it in the show right?
Might even be the death nail to AoS, but I think the show could survive Coulson leaving tbh.

Daisy as director doesn't make sense to me. She might be the most hot-headed person on the team. It would be like having Danny leading the Defenders.
